I was sort of underwhelmed last night. There were a few contestants I really liked and will keep my eye on, but overall...meh. Definitely no rock singers this season. I miss the audience, too.

Duets are on tonight...if they announced it, I missed it, but saw it in my program guide this morning.
I was sorry that they wasted time on some people( the babe is black who never should gone through). She was not good, sounded like she was drugged and then cursed out AI. Glad she is gone and the time waste did allow the world to know what a mess she was.
Three people stood out for looking different than they did during the auditions. The Conway girl cleaned herself up. I thought she looked like she was anorexic during the auditions---teeth were discolored, her hair was badly damaged and she was painfully thin. She looked much better and healthier, but I did not care for her...or her mother at all.
The girl who was a student a Berklee School of Music and whose voice made Luke cry looked like she lost some weight. When they showed her picture in Hollywood alongside her audition, her face was much thinner.
I felt so sad for the very heavy black young man who went home because of his mother's stroke. He said during the auditions that he lost over 100 lbs. While still big, you could see his frame, but apparently he put a lot of it back in the months between the two events.

I remember how Simon could be so rude about how people looked under the guise that they were looking for a star. I don’t have a favorite yet.

Agree, why bother with the likes of Miss Cray-Cray-in-black, she is clearly out of her mind and had little to no talent. Claudia Conway was a shock for me, I cannot she how she moved forward and a few others did not. She is painful to watch sing, her face contorts in odd ways and her voice is not THAT strong or special. Yeah, she looked much better than she did in her first audition but still not a fan of the little scarf tops she is obviously fond of. Could have done without her mom too, her dad at least came off as sincere.... Kellyanne never does.
I loved seeing Willie again, and it was so sad to hear about his mom and how he moved home to help her after the stroke... shes obviously so proud of him I just love him and his voice... I hope he does well.
I am ok with the lack of 'rock' representation this year because I think the Indie group grew and they do have some good vices and interesting people there with a great deal of talent. I am happy they are not just looking at the Pop/R&B people to fill out the show.. it is nice to have them see that there has been a bit of an evolution to what America is drawn too now.

I remember how Simon could be so rude about how people looked under the guise that they were looking for a star. I don’t have a favorite yet. My daughter and I were talking about this last night. A lot of the stuff Katie, Lionel and Luke do wouldn't fly with Simon and that's fine with me. I think a lot of these kids just need to feel comfortable while auditioning. I wish they hadn't let Conway through. I did not like her and bringing her mom felt to me like she was capitalizing on who she was. Then there was the black haired crazy lady who asked for the manager. Your ex and his family aren't laughing at you, they are breathing a sigh of relief that they dodged a bullet.

I think this will be an enjoyable season. I liked everyone who made it through pretty much. The last duet of the night were two of my favorites and they knocked it out of the park. Now I have that song stuck in my head.

Now I have that song stuck in my head. I am not a Bruno Mars fan at all, but yes.. what they did with that song was nothing short of magic. I have to say they are 2 of my fave female voices this year and as skeptical as I was about the judges paring (not like it could be worse than them pairing themselves) we did get some great duets.

I enjoyed many of the duets too, even some that the judges didn't like. They let some go through, that didn't sing that well IMO. Sounded like some of them hit bad notes, but the judges didn't hear them I guess.
I don't have any one favorite yet, but there are some good singers this season.

I would think that there were a number of producers who worked with the three judges to put the pairs together.....that was a lot of work. The young heavy black man was amazing, but as I said earlier, he is not looking healthy and I am so concerned for him. He had dark circles around his eyes that were not there during the earlier auditions. There were a few others that stood out...but nothing like the last two young women...OMG they were tremendous.
I liked how the three judges came out to the pairs.....that was long overdue.
