I've never heard of 3/4 of them. Yawn!
But I'll still watch their dances on YouTube. 😊

As with every season, there are several names on the list that I don't know. I mean, I'm pretty much never going to know any athlete except the REALLY big ones (who generally don't do this show) and I hate country music, so I never know those people. A fitness instructor seems a bit of a reach for "star" status. I'm excited to see Melora Hardin on the list. I'm a big fan. She's also got a dance background - she was a trained dancer before she moved to acting. She did the Dirty Dancing TV series, but she was a dancer before that too. She's not young (for a dancer, I mean). but she's in great shape. I remember Mike Mizanin when he was on The Real World. He talked about wanting to be in the WWE back then and it always seemed like a big reach. Funny to see him now.
I don't care about Olivia Jade, the country singer or Kenya Moore. I don't know the one from Bling Empire or the NBA player (aren't they always notoriously clunky dancers?) either. Never heard of the fitness instructor.
I'll likely be rooting for Amanda and Melora, but I'll be open to being pleasantly surprised by any of the others. That seems to happen almost every season.
I'll watch the first episode or two (ffwding or muting Tyra) and then I'll decide if I'll watch the episodes or just watch certain routines on YouTube.
They're running out of 90210 cast members

I'd never heard of the fitness guy either. Apparently, he's one of the most popular Peleton instructors.

It's getting worse. There's always a number of people who I have no idea who they are, and always some who I may have heard their names but I have no idea why they are on the show. They are that unnoteworthy. But this season it's abnormally bad. I have no idea who all but just a handful are. I mean a small handful. I could count them on one hand with a finger or two left over. Maybe that's why they released the names of Jojo & Suni early. The rest are "Who the heck is that?"
What ever happened to the Stars in Dancing With The Stars? Did they use them all up? Do they all hate Tyra? Has the show gotten such a bad reputation that no one wants to be seen on it? Oh well. This will make it easier to quit watching after an episode or two.

I'm trying to remember what he looked like dancing in the TikTok videos that "the quarantine crew" was doing when Hannah was hanging with him and Tyler last summer or spring or whatever it was. Generally, football players have been pretty good dancers. He was a wide receiver, so he'd have to be quick and agile and light on his feet. He's also a skateboarder, so he probably has good balance. He may surprise us. He's apparently pretty funny, so he may be fun to watch. (I'm not invested in him one way or another in terms of being a fan. Just thinking out loud. )

I hope Matt doesn't come off as clumsy as he was on the Bachelor.

I used to work with his Aunt at a old job... I got to hear all about him lol. I will likely end up watching for him, Suni, Melora Hardin, and my girl Sporty Spice. I just wish we had a better host

Haven't watched in a few years but as a huge 90210 fan geek am excited that Brian Austin Green has been cast. What are the chances that he will be paired with his love Sharna?

Brian Austin Green - 90210 actor Mike "The Miz" Mizanin - pro wrestler/reality star Martin Kove - Cobra Kai/Karate Kid actor
Aren't these three clones of each other, chunky, big raw boned, loud mouthed guys?
Maybe I will just call them Bonehead 1, Bonehead 2, and Bonehead 3?

I don't mind getting to know, the so called stars, some are a real surprise as they learn to dance. Agreed. It's never going to be Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt, so we've always had to adjust our expectations. Some of the "stars" are well known in their specific area of the world, but the rest of us just don't know who they are. Discovering who the "unknowns" are is part of the fun.
I remember when JR Martinez was cast and I told everyone here (or, rather, at the olde site) that they were going to fall in love with him. I knew him from All My Children, but anyone who didn't watch, wouldn't have known him. I just knew he'd be a fan favorite because of his personality, but I had NO idea he could dance like that!
There are always a few that I don't know, generally in pro sports or country music. This season, the Peloton guy this season as another who I've not heard of.
My favorite thing about this show has always been the surprise of seeing someone really come into their own and be so much better than I expected. That happened last season with Nev, who definitely should have won last season (I'm still a little bitter!). I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised.
We know that Jojo, Suni and Amanda will do well. They've all danced and/or learned choreography and are good movers. The rest are all unknowns.

How awful for Cheryl. I hope she gets through it okay.
This could have lots of implications, not just for Cody but for everyone on the show. The show isn't being produced in a bubble, everyone goes home at the end of the day. Will they be able to get everyone tested/cleared in time to even have a show tonight?

There was a pro injury a while back and they did have another pro step in so that should be taken care of.....but you are right about how will they deal with everybody else who could have caught it from her.

DWTS in Ireland has been cancelled due to Covid. Wonder if same fate awaits the U.S. show?
I searched and didn't see any notice about Cheryl from official DWTS sources. They need to say something before the show tonight.
Okay, I found a GMA video addressing the issue. Cody's test hadn't come back, but if negative will dance with an alternate.

I've seen Instagram posts of cast members out eating at restaurants, and they're clearly interacting with family members and significant others who aren't isolating. So different from last year's strict bubble.

It was bound to happen. He is also vaccinated so hope the viral reaction is mild.
Peloton star Cody Rigsby has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time after his Dancing with the Stars partner Cheryl Burke contracted the virus. Rigsby, 34, shared he had breakthrough COVID in an Instagram video Thursday, admitting it was news he didn't "want to be sharing." "I have tested positive for COVID again, the second time this year," he began, adding that his symptoms — which include mild congestion, headache and cough — are not as bad as when he had the virus back in February before he was vaccinated. "So that must be the vaccine antibodies working," he said. "So we're super grateful for that." "As far as my fate on Dancing with the Stars, we're still trying to figure that out right now," he said. Burke, who he has been competing with on DWTS, announced she had tested positive for the virus on Sunday. Concluding his video, Rigsby said that he was going to "eat all the yummy food" that he could before potentially losing his sense of taste and smell. He signed off with his signature Peloton goodbye: "Bye boos." Both Burke, 37, and Rigsby are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Following the news of Burke's positive test result, Rigsby said that he would still compete on DWTS, but was unsure how that would happen. On Monday, the judges scored the duo based on their rehearsal performance

There's no way they can let him into the bathroom this week or ask anyone to dance with him. I think they should just invite him to come back next season

I thought something like that would happen -- I was thinking they would dance in a remote studio with remote-controlled cameras.
Assuming they're healthy enough to dance, of course.

It seems they both have light cases, so they're probably okay to dance, but I'm guessing they don't feel super peppy. They're going to dance Jazz, which can apparently be done without touching your partner. I think it would be hard to be in sync when you're not in the same room, but I guess if you're both on the beat, you'd be in sync.
