^I think that sounds right (from what I can remember).
Ryan says Next Monday they'll bring the 10 contestants from last year back, and we vote 1 into this year's competition. Sunday we go down to 9, with LIVE voting. That means the west coast can't vote, correct?
This Whitney song isn't sounding very good, by Alyssa.
I wasn't shocked with who made America's top 10... it was obvious for the most part. I do however wonder where Wyatt would have played in, and who moved into his spot. I assume he was top 10, if not I would have been shocked. I wish him well and hope we do see more of him somehow, somewhere.
Loved seeing Paula, she has always been (and always will be) my fave Idol judge, I do not care what is in her cup. But lawdy, that breast feeding comment.. gurrrrl!
The two stand outs for me tonight were Hunter and Ava. Hunter because I think that was honestly his best performance to date. It was filled with real emotion and it was beautifully done; more of that please Hunter. Ava because I think that is one of, if not THE, best performances I have seen on Idol, ever. She took a beautiful song by one of the most masterful musicians/singers/songwriters ever in my mind and did it such justice I nearly cried. I hope Mary Austin hears this simply wonderful rendition.
As for the five not voted in, I think if Graham and Alanis and even Colin to some degree (MUCH better song pick for him tonight) did the songs they sung tonight we could have seen a top 10 shake up. Graham picked a perfect song this time and Alanis showed why you do not always do 'the classics' and stick to something youthful. I feel that either one of them, mostly Graham, should have been saved over Madison.
Beane and Madison's saves I feel only give them one more week. I still do not feel Madison and I do like Beane but I see him on Broadway... and I mean that in the best way. He would bloom and flourish there, really making a name for himself.
Alyssa still shows she can sing but when will people learn, do not sing Whitney unless you can match her range. NOT a good song for her, sorry. Even Paula managed to drop a comment about it not being a good song choice. And she was way too happy/bouncy as she sung, distracting. Honestly, this was a hot mess for me.
Lastly, Willie oh sweet Willie... I vote him the contestant I most wanna go have coffee with, and maybe share a blueberry muffin. I'd also be OK with Lemon Cranberry if that was his jam though. I just adore this man!! I may or may not wanna sneak into his closet and sang that black cherry satin lovely he was wearing tonight, he needs to market it! I'd buy one.
Once again, completely vibing with you. It’s always interesting to see what the stylists do once they get their hands on them. I think everyone looked great except Alyssa. That gorgeous gown made her look generic and middle aged. The flat blonde hair, likewise. It could be her downfall. Ava was the standout way and above the others. Best performance of anyone this season.
Did anybody notice that Ava looks like Taylor swift? After the talk about the two girls-- who have been dismissed-- one looked like Katie and the other Madonna, there never any mention of this strong resemblance. She was spectacular. I think she took to heart the comment that she should go for elegant rather than looking her age. Much better in her gown rather than the outfit she wore Sunday.
I did not like Madison's look and I do not like Grace's use of the black tight sparkly gowns.....not good at all.
I think Ava looks like Twyla from Schitt’s Creek with those cheekbones, but I also get your Taylor Swift likeness. I think Grace is a goddess but the short, sparkly dress with the ankle boots was not attractive at all.
I too have sen the T-Swizzle likeness with Ava, but I move past it because I think that Ava is a better singer, lol.
I agree the stylists did Alyssa a disservice with her look this week. I like the idea of glam-ing her up, but the colour was all wrong, and her hair is a work in progress. Glad that they got that faded pink out tho, it needed to be fixed. I think the whole look aged her well beyond her years.
Grace is ok in the gowns, but I hate how badly they cinch her waist, it looks soooo uncomfortable and does her shape no favors. Almost has an Iggy Azalea thing going on there. She is a VERY beautiful girl, there is no reason to detract from it with bad style choices.
I have noticed a lot of bad footwear choices this season too and wondered if it was to help mobility on the stage??
