I agree with you on all points! I've always loved the way the show started out progressing to show you the same thing from different perspectives ... starting where Noah remembered seeing Alison for the first time when she was all done up with a tight uniform looking hot, while she remembered herself as looking like a mess with a frumpy uniform. If you take that perspective and advance it ... throughout the show, we've seen Noah conquesting each of those six women. But because we saw it from his perspective, it wasn't portrayed as such. In some cases it was portrayed as if the women were coming on to him. It was a great illustration of how someone who is preying on others rationalizes the behavior. The writers and actors are certainly not getting lazy for the end of the show!

You know it's funny - as impressed as I've been with some of the episodes this season, I'm not dreading it being over like I have with some shows I've loved. I kind of feel like it's time. I like that this season they've returned to the origins of Noah and Helen. I feel like if it didn't end now, they would have continued to get lost in a bunch of different side stories.

Came here to ask if the series finale aired tonight b/c they aired a repeat this evening. Both IMDB and the TV Guide said the series finale was tonight, but nope.

I discovered a couple of weeks ago that they put the new episode up On Demand before it airs, so I watched the finale that way in order to not stay up as late. There were a couple of things that I thought were far fetched enough that they were silly. But overall, I thought it was a very satisfying end.

The series finale is airing here from 9:00 to 10:30. I'm on the East coast but my cable provider aired repeat. I set the DVR for next airing.

That's really weird - I wonder what happened. I just checked my DVR because even though I didn't watch it that way, it did record, and it was the finale that recorded. If it does not work for you for the next airing, it is on On Demand.

Just finished the season and loved reading your comments. The Affair ended at the right time but I'll miss these characters. They'll never been another Margaret. Dildo scene will go down in history. Of course she lived till 100 and died the same year as her daughter. Stacey taking the swig of champagne never felt more authentic to these characters. Loved her character this season. I did find it odd there was no scenes with Helen and her father or conversation on how his dementia was effecting her. I could have done away with the grown Joanie scenes. I understood it but I personally didn't need it. Also, why did Cole and her step mother lie to her all these years about Allison? He literally died of a broken heart so why not tell his daughter what kind of mother she was? I'm satisfied with the ending. I always figured they would get back together so I'm happy with out it went down. Noah on the hill at the end, the song, the dance, the evolution, it was everything!
