Sad news about Alex Trebek. I was privileged to meet him in the late 1980s when I appeared on Jeopardy. He personifies class, and I wish him well in his fight. That is sad news. I hope he beats it. Very, very sad news. My heart breaks for him. I hope he can beat it too.

I think I am in denial about Alex Trebek. He is supposed to live forever.

The good news is that there actually are some new treatments that give him a possibility of making it, which wasn't the case until recently.

Here is the personal message he left to fans on YouTube: I think he's being so brave, I wish like hell they could catch pancreatic cancer, before it reaches stage four,:-(

I could be wrong, but someone among my Facebook friends has a spouse who is dealing with pancreatic cancer and was talking about a new treatment he was receiving that gave him much better odds than in that past. Unfortunately, I can't remember who is was or exactly what they said, so I may be totally off base. And it's also possible that his case was not as advanced, but I kind of think it was.

I guess it's official. He's guilty. That's such a shame. Someone who had success lined right out in front of him on a successful show. Not to mention the potential success of his future. Personally I suspect it was the expense & mind altering of drugs. I believe I read that one of the guys he hired was a drug provider of his.
I'll never understand why someone who has reached the success so many have strived for would throw it all away in order to use drugs. I'd think that success would be the reason to stay far far away from drugs. Why throw away the good life & trappings of success to be a junkie?
I hope he gets treatment & help to straighten out the remainder of his life. It probably won't have anything to do with acting though. We've seen others bounce back from drugs & crime. Robert Downey Jr anyone?

It must of been very aggressive, his wife said, he was in such pain, it was a blessing he passed when he did.

I'm usually the first one to think about all of the starving families that could live off of the money that these extravances cost (the huge rings, mansions, yachts, private planes, etc) --- but at the same time, I'm really happy for Jennifer Lopez. She and Arod both seem like really nice people. I hope that in real life, they are.

J'lo has so much going for her, she doesn't seem to take a step wrong, except when it comes to marriage, maybe this time it will work out, I guess we'll see..

If Jose Canseco is is to be believed, he even gave his number over twitter for her to call him, he said his ex and ARod are a bit of a thing. Maybe that is why the big rock, he is having Kobe guilt??

A-Rod was banned from Playing baseball for a year after testing positive for Peds. This is after he denied using them, denied taking them when asked by Yankees captain Derek Jeter. He actually was caught twice. His nickname is A-fraud for a reason. Oh, he also cheated on his first wife with Madonna. Nice.

Fascinating. As far as money and status, Arod is the only one that's ever been her equal. Her need for being in control has led her to dating guys that were beneath her. If Jose's claims are true, it's not surprising. Arod cheated on ex-wife Cynthia up and down.

So why she thought this was a good move is beyond me. But it is her life and she can make her own mistakes, she already has 3 others. I guess I will just grab some popcorn and wait to see how this all blows up.

Crazy thought - is it possible that J Lo knows he's a serial cheater and doesn't care? Looking at some of the other men she's been with, the same can be said about many of them. Perhaps monogamy is not a high priority in her life. Maybe she cheats too!

Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin busted in college admissions cheating scandal
"Dozens of people — including actresses Feilicty Huffman and Lori Loughlin and college coaches — have been indicted in a large-scale cheating scam involving college entrance exams, according to reports Tuesday. Those charged are accused of paying bribes to get their kids into high-profile schools like Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA and Yale as recruited athletes — regardless of their athleticism, ABC 11 reported. Huffman and Loughlin are among those charged in a newly unsealed indictment." FELICITY HUFFMAN, LORI LOUGHLIN INDICTED IN COLLEGE ADMISSIONS BRIBERY CASE"Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been charged along with 48 others in a massive bribery scam involving some of the most elite colleges in the country. Court records show the actresses and others allegedly paid hefty bribes -- as much as $6 MILLION -- to get their kids into various schools, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California. The charges include conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. We've learned Felicity has been arrested and is presently in custody. We're told she will be released on a signature bond ... which essentially is a promise to appear in court. The alleged scam was reportedly unearthed after authorities found a California businessman who ran an operation helping students get into the college of their choice. Authorities say parents would pay the man a predetermined amount which he would funnel to an SAT or ACT administrator or a college athletic coach. The feds say if the money went to a college coach ... the coach would arrange a fake profile that listed the student as an athlete. If the money went to an exam administrator, the administrator would either hire a proctor to take the SAT/ACT or correct the student's answers. As for Loughlin, she and her husband -- Mossimo Giannulli, the founder of Mossimo clothing -- allegedly paid $500,000 to have their 2 daughters designated as recruits for the crew team at USC ... despite the fact they did not actually participate in crew. Mossimo was also charged in the indictment. As for Huffman, she and her husband, William H. Macy, allegedly made a charitable contribution of $15,000 to participate in a college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of their eldest daughter. The indictment says the daughter was given twice the amount of time to take the SAT as other students and the paid proctor agreed to secretly correct her answers afterwards. The indictment says the girl received a score of 1420 on her SAT ... an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT. Macy was not indicted. According to the docs, the FBI recorded phone calls in which Loughlin and Huffman talked about the scheme with a witness who was cooperating with authorities. And the federal indictment out of Boston has a twist ... it says most of the kids admitted to the schools had no idea their parents allegedly greased the wheels to get them in. We reached out to the reps for both Felicity and Lori ... so far no word back."

I can see how parents who have the means to do so could get so swept up in wanting their kids to go where they want that they'd fall into something like this. I think it's the kind of thing that some would not really process as being wrong and illegal because they'd be so focused on the end result. (ironically, it kind of sounds like something a Desparate Housewife would have done in the early days of that show). In all honesty, what surprises me is that they'd arrest so many people for it. I'm not saying I think they shouldn't be arrested. It just surprises me that legally there's enough to stand on to handle it that way. It seems a lot of times there are things that look wrong and feel wrong, but that you can't really find the legal path to prosecuting.
