Praying for Bruce Willis. He's brought a lot of fun and intensity to the screen. Editing to add CNN article - linkHow sad. I’m not a huge fan of his, but only because his usual genre of films isn’t something I watch. I liked him in 6th Sense. Same. I did love him in Moonlighting, though. This is very sad. The article didn't say what caused the aphasia. I wonder if this is something you can recover completely from.

I meant to post this last month but never got to posting it. I thought Fran looked stunning at the SAG Awards. Great work done.

I like Bruce Willis action movies. What I was reading in my newsfeed is that his problem with speech has been noticed in recent years, not all of a sudden.

This article really goes into detail about what it was like working with Mr. Willis on set. Apparently his cognitive decline has been going on for years. He wore an earpiece and someone would feed him his lines. In 2020 and 2021 he acted in 12 films!!! There are 8 more films he's done which have yet to be released. That's 20 films in 2 years. That seems so cruel to have put him through this. It was said that he often looked confused on set and lost. Just a very sad situation all around. www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/movies/story/2022-03-30/bruce-willis-aphasia-memory-loss-cognitive-disorder

Just a very sad situation all around. www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/movies/story/2022-03-30/bruce-willis-aphasia-memory-loss-cognitive-disorderI read this and it made me SO ANGRY. This has been a gross open secret in Hollywood for years now. Apparently, his handlers/agents had him in 24 movies in 4 years. I understand that with people who have cognitive decline can be helped by doing their usual activities but this really sounds like someone was making money off him while the getting was good and didn't care how he was doing.
- Blatantly lied about his condition to a director so they would hire him (who was shocked at how bad off he actually was)
- Another director refused to work with him again, saying he was uncomfortable with the whole situation
- Was to the point where he couldn't read his lines anymore and had to be fed them through an earpiece. Eventually they had to cut his working hours to 4 because that's all he could handle
"Filmmakers proceeded to quickly film the actor’s parts, even as Willis questioned where he was: “I know why you’re here, and I know why you’re here, but why am I here?” two crew members said he asked aloud.
“It was less of an annoyance and more like: ‘How do we not make Bruce look bad?’” one of the crew members said. “Someone would give him a line and he didn’t understand what it meant. He was just being puppeted.”
This could have been handled so much differently if he worked less and people were more upfront about his condition so everyone would be aware and proper accomodations could be made. I am glad that his family made the decision to have him retire and that he goes to the family compound in Idaho with Demi, his wife, and children and they take proper care of him. Bruce Willis is a great actor and I enjoyed him in most things but I am entertained enough; let him rest.
“He just looked so lost, and he would say, ‘I’ll do my best.’ He always tried his best.”
This made me cry. This is so horrible, and while its been said that he made all of these straight to video movies because he wanted to provide for his family, he was an extremely rich man and it's more likely these movies were made to line someone else's pockets. I really hope this is investigated.

It's entirely possible that it wasn't his "people's" decision to keep making movies, especially so many of them. I think it was maybe him who wanted this. I could very well see him wanting to not only keep working, but to make as many movies as possible while he still could. Because he knew that the time was coming when he couldn't. He wanted to leave as full a catalog of movies as possible for his legacy. I can also see him wanting to continue working as much as possible to keep himself going. He didn't want to just give up & have his condition control him & deteriorate, as well as his own physical & mental well being. He wanted to be "normal" as long as possible. Pushing himself was his way of doing this. I can totally relate to this. When I found out I had leukemia, I had to go through chemotherapy, as well as other stuff. I felt horrible all through it. I continued working all through it. Not because it was easy or it wasn't an extreme strain. It was. I referred to myself as the walking dead. But I kept on walking, and working, and driving back & forth to work. (OK, I shouldn't have done that last part.) Too many people sit around suffering & wasting away. They die much earlier. I didn't want that. I wanted to act "normal". My attitude was "If I act normal I'll feel normal and I'll be normal". "Just keep going. One foot in front of the other." Or as Dory said "Just keep swimming". It worked. In fact, I strongly believe that the pushing myself through like that was what got me through, even a bit quicker that the Doctor expected. I suspect that that's what Bruce has been doing. He wanted to keep going as long as possible to keep himself feeling like himself as long as he could.

I love hot mess couples so I hope it works out for them. They bought a big house together with the idea that it would be a space for them, all the kids, family, and family adjacent like exes (similar to the Willis compound in Idaho) so they both seem vested in making it work this time, plus Ben hasn't been spotted out looking a mess since they got together, so there's that.

I wish them well & wish them happiness. Maybe it was meant to be all along? . Engaged 5 times, married three times , maybe they should just live together. She's so strong in her work, when it comes to men, something doesn't go well. It can't be all of their faults. Maybe she becomes bored or she's needy..they seem to stray for a reason. I wish them luck, I think therapy would be more useful. .

Looking through the slideshow pics of the WH correspondents dinner, I have to wonder who the hell is in charge of the invites. What a bizarro list. JC Chasez? Kennedy? KT Tunstall? The kid who plays young Sheldon? WTF?
Some of the invites totally make sense - many of the actors pictured are well-known activists. Others? Maybe I'm missing something.

As far as I knew, no one person is in charge. News outlets who are members of the WHCA have blocks of tickets they buy and THEY decide who they want to invite so I can see how it is hit or miss on the dinner guests lol. On a side note after looking at the pics from your link.. we all know Fran Drescher STILL looks amazing, but WOW so does Judith Light!! Maybe even better than her OLTL or Who's the Boss days.
