I think that Jamie is just an incredibly private person. I remember he dated Katie Holmes for years and the paps rarely got shots of them, so this lack of details doesn't surprise me. I hope everything is fine and he will update on his own time. I think that had more to do with Katie's contract with Tom Cruise that required her to not date another man publicly for x number of years.
I hope Jamie's okay too, but I've read several blind items suggesting that he's not doing well at all. One in particular said that things do not look good. I understand being a private person, but this feels like one of those times when a public statement should be made about his condition. They don't need to livestream his hospital room, but a quick picture or reel on TT or IG would do the trick.

Carrie Fisher's star was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. On May 4th. Pretty sure the choice of date was not a coincidence.

And even that pleasant event had controversy because certain family members felt some type of way about not being invited and decided to get noisy. Billie Lourd hit back and basically said that "they know what they did" LOL. I guess they didn't expect her to feel so strongly about them capitalizing on Carrie's death but sometimes you sow, and sometimes you reap. Actions have consequences. ew.com/celebrity/billie-lourd-didnt-invite-aunts-uncle-carrie-fisher-walk-of-fame-ceremony/

Oh wow .... yes that is sad. I started watching Meg wayyyyyy back in " As The World Turns" (soap) and loved her. I thought she was adorable. Is she doing any acting anymore? I watched " Sleepless in Seattle" several weeks ago (for the 80th time) ( ) on HBO. Love Love Love it.

Here's my 2 cents worth of opinion about Meg's plastic surgery, from the perspective of someone who's getting up there in age. For the first time, I really get it. Nowadays we have basically two choices as we get older and older and older: to do something about it or not. It used to be so easy for me to say, ohhh, no, that looks so terrible I'd never do that. But nowadays, with every new line, wrinkle, furrow, sag, and all of the other unwelcome changes, my heart says stopppppp! But it doesn't stop, it just gets worse and worse and worse. So now those anti-aging options are looking better and better to me, and I totally understand why someone would choose to look the way one does when one has had (too much) face altering, rather than leaving the ravages of time on their face. All I can say is don't judge too harshly until YOU get up there in age.

Agreed. I have also have seen outlets like The Post really come down on people, mostly women...for getting old. "Look what has happened to (insert female actress over 55)!" If Meg did nothing, I bet she'd have the same shocking headlines.

I'm 72 and I'd have nothing done, I was told I look good for my age, if you don't feel your age, I believe that shows . Once you start on that slippery slope of fillers, botox etc., I don't think you can stop. Women with these huge lips at my age, look downright stupid.

Have it done very subtly. Tweak a bit here and there. I'm not judging because I understand how being a celebrity has it pressures on women (and it is even spreading to men) but damn, when you look one, not like yourself and two, 10 years older than your age, you are getting poor work done. Better to look old.

I do agree with you, subtle is fine. Women like Judy Dench, they are the women I look up to.They can use expressions as they act., she didn't bow to pressure. Jmho.

It's not even about looking old anymore because there's a host of 20 something people getting fillers and that horrible buccal fat removal (which should be banned) and they look a mess. Kylie Jenner looks like she's around 40 and she's 25, and Lea Michel looks...ghoulish. It's even spreading to men because Tom Cruise looks like he's been stung by bees lately and Brad Cooper constantly looks tight.

Linda's wasn't botched, cool sculpting has a rare side effect, that the fat can come back, just not in the same places. I thought Cruise looked okay in his movie, but I agree with you on Cooper.

FannyMare, I heard otherwise from a recent NYT article. Apparently the side effects from CoolSculpting is at a lot higher ratio than the manufacturers have reported. There's been a few doctors who have noticed it even within their own practices and as a result have quit offering it. Linda most definitely is saying she was botched because she sued the manufacturers and they settled for an undisclosed amount based on a lot of the newer info being released about CoolSculpting. Personally, if I had to choose between CoolSculpting and lip I would get the lipo.

I'm glad Linda won, but I'm sure they make you sign something, that you know the risks

I just saw a pic of Meg Ryan today and I wouldn't have recognized her had they not of said who it was. I have earned every wrinkle I have and don't see the need to alter my appearance I have been blessed with good genes and don't look my age most of the time. I find it sad what the people are doing to themselves. What good does it do if you end up distorted from it. I agree the huge lips Fanny look stupid.

One thing I noticed in that picture of Meg with Michael J Fox was that she didn't look like she had on any makeup. The bottom half of her face looked like her, and I wondered how she'd look with makeup on. I think not having her eyes emphasized made her look quite different.

The bottom half of her face looked like her, and I wondered how she'd look with makeup on. I think not having her eyes emphasized made her look quite different. That's what I think too. There was another recent pic of her where she was clearly wearing eye makeup and she did look more like we're used to seeing her look. It's amazing what makeup can do, even if the person doesn't look like they're wearing a lot.
In general, I think society is just unforgiving of women aging. Carrie Fisher used to talk about how people would give her flak for not looking like Princess Leia in the metal bikini because she's committed the unforgivable sin of getting older.
If we're talking about older actresses who haven't had a lot of work done, I think Vanessa Redgrave is stunning. I think her face is 10x more interesting and beautiful than someone her age who's had so much work done that her face is immobile. For me though, Helen Mirren is the gold standard. More beautiful now than she was 40 years ago.

If you don't look your age or if you've been told you look good for your age, then you're blessed, but you can still be empathetic. It's an entirely different ballgame for those of us who look in the mirror and don't see the person they expect to see looking back at them.

I look in the mirror and see me, an older version. I thank God I wake up everyday still in good health and able to still do things I want to do. We are not going to look 28 at 68.
Goldie Hawn is another actress that has aged but slap some makeup on her and she looks good. The picture I saw of Meg Ryan looked like she had a botched plastic surgery. She was so naturally pretty I hate to see her that way if it is what she did. The list could go on forever of those who have had bad surgeries that looked great before them.

Took the words right outta my mouth! I doubt Meg sees herself in the mirror anymore, apparently she rarely goes out. Perhaps she needs to see a doctor that can undo, what is obviously to much filler etc. There are other photos of her, looking nothing like herself. If that's what people want, have at it. They have my full empathy, we only have one face.

LOVE this!!! From today's news articles: Oh no, it happened again: a famous woman didn’t follow the rules of ageingwww.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/may/06/meg-ryan-famous-women-ageingMeg Ryan was declared ‘unrecognizable’ in headlines after attending a screening – even though the tabloids clearly recognized her! Meg Ryan leaves house, faces instant misogynyOh no, it’s happened again. Every now and again a famous woman over the age of 45 has the temerity to go out in public without following The Rules of Ageing While Female and all hell breaks loose. This time the offender is Meg Ryan. The 61-year-old actor attended a documentary screening in New York this week, sparking immediately scrutiny from all the usual tabloids about her appearance and how much plastic surgery she might have had. Both the Daily Mail and Page Six declared Ryan “unrecognizable” in their headlines. Which is weird, because they clearly recognized her. Anyway, since so many people seem to be unaware of how to age in a tabloid-friendly manner, a quick recap of The Rules. First and foremost, ladies, remember that you need to age gracefully and naturally. But not too naturally. Not so naturally that you get wrinkles and grey hair and actually look your age. Yuck! Not like that. No, you need to age naturally in a way that makes it looks like you haven’t aged at all. You need to age in a way which makes it seem like you’re still youthful enough for Leonardo DiCaprio to consider dating. Which, unless you have a portrait in an attic somewhere or are half-vampire, probably means getting plastic surgery. Which takes us to rule number two: if you get surgery, you need your surgery to look completely effortless. You don’t want your face to scream: “I’ve just spent the GDP of a small country on my fillers!” You don’t want anyone to suspect you’ve had work done because, come on, that’s just tragic. Remember, women are supposed to age gracefully and naturally and surgery is neither of those things. Finally, rule number three. If you are incapable of ageing in a way that would please a committee consisting of the Daily Mail, the New York Post, Piers Morgan and Don Lemon then DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE. Ageing inappropriately in a public space is just very bad form if you’re a woman. (If you’re a man, of course, things are different: you’re a silver fox who only gets better with every passing year!) Got all that? Good. The Rules are really very simple. I’m not sure why so many women have a hard time with them. Ryan, after all, is not the first woman whose face has caused a tabloid frenzy this year. A few weeks ago, Page Six ran a headline stating: “Bridget Fonda unrecognizable during rare outing 20 years after quitting acting.” The Daily Mail ran an almost identical headline. There is nothing tabloids seem to enjoy more than recognizing famous women and promptly proclaiming her unrecognizable. And then of course there’s all the furor over Madonna’s face. Earlier this year, Madonna’s appearance at the Grammys caused intense speculation about how much cosmetic surgery she’d had done. Piers Morgan, never one to miss a chance to indulge in some casual misogyny, shared a closeup photo of the 64-year-old pop legend with the caption: “I thought Halloween was in October.” Madonna responded to the chatter about her looks with a scathing statement on Instagram about being caught, once again, “in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in … A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45.” There is, as should be very clear by now, simply no way to win as a woman. So don’t even bother trying to age gracefully. “It’s much better to age disgracefully!” Helen Mirren told Vogue a few years ago. “Take it on the chin, and roll with it. You die young, or you get older. There is nothing in between! You may as well enjoy it.” And if you don’t enjoy it, then whatever you do, don’t frown: that leaves terrible marks.

OMG. I saw this piece yesterday when it showed up on one of my feeds and became so focused on her appearance that I didn't even notice she was photographed with Michael J Fox. The piece is really about his upcoming Apple TV documentary. And I just canceled Apple TV! Bummer. The video mentioned a Meg Ryan movie soon to be released that she stars in, wrote, and directed. Meg, if you care that much about your face not looking 60, go for the facelift and stay away from those fillers! Tracy looks waxed, too.
