Interesting story today that Ken Jennings was the front runner but supposedly he also was guilty of some tweets in the past that surfaced during the audition process and he was not popular with the focus groups ( and you think your opinions counted) after they came out. I was not sure from the story if they shared the tweets with the groups along with his audition tapes.

Here is an Opinion piece from Arthur Chu, a player/winner. I found it spot on - at least for me.

Oops, looks like Mike Richards was just ousted as the exec producer of both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. The sheer amount of stuff coming out about his stint on "The Price is Right" is heinous and it couldn't happen to a nicer person. The irony of all of this is had he not become greedy he would still have a job. Sometimes, when you try to have everything you end up with nothing.

This all should have happened at once -- he should have been fired as both new host AND EP. There was no way the brand would have survived with him still associated with it. Forget about whatever nasty things he may have said several years ago... everything about this new host selection process was sketchy and awkward. Hell, even the timing of him taking the EP job is suspicious. Did he take the job figuring Alex didn't have long to go, and he would take the opportunity to install himself as new host? Nothing is off the table now, in terms of imagining what his motives were...
Looking forward to a fresh start this coming season.

I hear you, but I kind of think they were right to do it in pieces. To me, that suggests they put more thought and investigation into it than simply saying "Twitter is calling for your head, and PR rules, so you're fired"

He did more than just say things. The "The Price is Right" stuff is mostly under NDAs and settlements but apparently he was doing things there and they had a "hush-hush, pay people off and get rid of him" thing because his behavior was ignored for a long time.

I guess his ego was so large he thought he would get away with it.

Yeah, I finally get to watch some current Jeopardy.. Same with Wheel of Fortune - only when they do prime time specials. I thought the affiliation was NBC, loosely, but they do not appear on Peacock or Hulu except for Prime Time.

Lots of movement with the ABC shows..,
Match Game, Card Sharks, Celeb Dating Game and The Hustler are all cancelled. (Match Game isn't a surprise, they hadn't filmed new episodes in 3 years, before COVID and way before Alec Baldwin's unfortunate filming accident)
New episodes of To Tell The Truth are currently airing on Tuesday nights.
Press Your Luck, The $100,000 Pyramid, and Celebrity Family Feud return this summer.
New game shows:
Generation Gap with Kelly Ripa premieres in July. "Family members of different generations must work together to answer trivia questions about each other’s generations." Based on a regular segment seen on Jimmy Kimmel, who is exec producer.
The Final Straw, a physical comedy game, also premieres in July. "Four teams of contestants face off to combat tremendous tipping towers. Each life-sized themed tower is chock full of various objects ranging from basketballs to small kitchen appliances as contestants try to successfully pull items from the stack without tipping it over in order to earn prizes. If the tower falls, the team is eliminated and the last team standing will compete against The Mega Stack, an epic battle of physics where the odds are literally stacked against them, in hopes of winning a life-changing grand prize."

I never cared for the "new" Match Game. Maybe because I was a fan of the original and still love it. I felt that it didn't have the humor of the old one, so many answers were just out and out sex, no more innuendos. I do like To Tell the Truth because I like to play along and try to guess. I will take a pass on the two new ones. I don't like Kelly Ripa very much and the other one sounds meh. I want another season of The Floor is Lava on Netflix!

Holey Moley and The Chase begin new seasons on Tuesday May 3rd on ABC. New Chasers Victoria Groce, Brandon Blackwell and Buzzy Cohen join Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer. Ken Jennings is a little busy these days with Jeopardy, and Mark "Beast" Labbett has moved on to join his old pal Brooke Burns on the new season of Master Minds on Game Show Network (premiere date TBD). In other news, a new edition of Password will show up this summer on NBC with host Keke Palmer. It will be exec produced by Jimmy Fallon, which makes sense since he's been playing Password on The Tonight Show for years now... Also, Fox is reviving Don’t Forget The Lyrics! with new host Niecy Nash. It premieres Monday, May 23rd at 8PM ET. Also, check the Netflix Thread for information about Howie Mandel's new game show Bullsh*t, which premieres Wed. April 27th.

Canceling the Hustler makes me sad. That show was so much fun. I am glad To Tell The Truth is still going. I had a friend that went on as one of the guests. It was so much fun to turn on the show and...hey I know her. She is such a liar. lol

Did anyone watch the premier last night of the new "Password" ? Keke Palmer is the host and Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm were the celebrity guests. Both were phenomenal in giving and receiving clues. They played 2 games and both winners won the maximum $25,000. It's on again tonight and Jimmy will be the permanent celebrity player and they will have another celebrity guest player weekly.

And today starts the daily Jeopardy's Tournament of Champions -- contestant Zach Newkirk posted some behind the scenes photos (click to see thread of tweets) I love Wil, and was glad he won. However, it was the absolute worst Celebrity Jeopardy episode ever for me thanks to the one contestant that thought the hour was all about him. I am sorry I can't even recall his name, I have blocked him out I guess. I felt it got so bad, how obnoxious he was, Torian and Wil even felt uncomfortable at times. I am all for the fun and easy going atmosphere of these less serious stints but damn I almost turned it off.. would have if not for Wheaton.

Yeah, FireWoman! He was pretty obnoxious! I don’t remember his name either. He’s not someone I’m familiar with. I thought he was kind of funny at first, but he quickly became tiresome. It seems he took a lot of heat online for his behavior. I’d seen articles about him before I ever watched the episode on Hulu.

They are messing with LINGO as to a time slot (CBS). It was replaced by a FBI rerun last Wednesday But they promised it wasn't gone. I hope not, I'm really enjoying it.

I think I read that they are saving the rest of the episodes to run when season 2 is ready. Which is strange, because the ratings haven't been great, and they pulled it off the air, and yet they're filming a second season... broadcast TV is weird.
