I was surprised that Octavio wasn't in the top, I loved his look. Agree about Aaron, I loved his look too.
I hope Katie gets it together, I loved her portfolio on Insta, but what she is showing on the runway.....that last look is out of Sassy magazine.

I don't think Meg just quit on her own. I think production people realized that she was not only emotionally incapable of dealing with the stress of the competition, but she was a major source of politically incorrect offensiveness.
To quote Christian, "Unfortunately, I am here to let you know that Meg will no longer be participating in the competition. But we really, really do wish her all the best."
That sounds like something a manager comes in to tell a department when someone has been given the choice to quit or be fired.

Since when did they get to change models in the middle of a challenge, or even change at all? In the past they got who they got, no questions, no trades. Very disappointed with the direction they went in this week's episode. No one should have been able to change once they started.
Meg was in a no-win situation that should never have happened in the first place. I don't think she was handling the stress well at all to start with so it's best she left, but that was a cr@ppy thing to happen to her for something that's never been allowed in any prior season.
I can't decide whether I'll keep watching or not. I can watch a lot of other good shows rather than to watch what was a good show continue to get worse and worse every year.

I thought I remembered them choosing models for each challenge early on in the series. There was a button bag involved.
I'm okay with them trading, as long as both designers agree. While it felt late for that first trade, Coral was really nice about it, although as others pointed out, this likely had a lot to do with Christian putting her on the spot.
OTOH, Meg was just nasty. As Chasity said, Meg could have just said no and explained that it was too late for her to make the necessary adjustments....OR she could have said yes and gotten on with it. She made it seem like she was being bullied about it, even though Kenneth said at least once that it was okay if she said no. It seemed like she said yes to avoid being labeled racist or a Karen, but then she acted like both of those things, ranting about how apparently she could only design for white people and yelling at Kenneth. I re-watched that moment where she lashed out at him and it was really ugly.
I think it was clear in the first episode that Meg was just not cut out for this show. There are other criteria needed to be a good contestant on this show and being able to design clothing is only one of them....and sometimes it's not even the most important one.

I deleted the automatic recording of episodes from my dvr after this episode …been recording and watching it (and allstars) for many years now, but unfortunately it’s just not what it used to be.

I agree with everything that Critical said about the situation! I think the "perfect storm" of what was so upsetting to so many people was 1) her trying so hard to look like a good ally in a very performative way that upset some people and then 2) playing the victim in such a public and ugly way after making the decision to change based on purely on the optics of not wanting to appear racist. I get how that could be really triggering for the people who went off on her. That said, I am concerned for Meg's well-being after the show aired. She seems extremely concerned with wanting to look like a good person and be on the right side of social justice issues. Having screwed up so royally in such a public way would likely be devastating to herself-image. Given that she didn't seem overly emotionally stable to begin with, I hope she's got some good therapeutic support in working through all of this.

Given that she didn't seem overly emotionally stable to begin with, I hope she's got some good therapeutic support in working through all of this. Her behavior in the beginning of the episode reminded me of an SNL sketch last season (I think) where white people profess to be allies, then proceed to speak over POC and make it all about them. It was embarrassing. I really did say, more than once, "It's not about you!" while watching Meg. She was so busy trying to prove how Not Racist she is, that she did the opposite. It's that whole thing about white woman's tears. It's exhausting.
There have been a lot of great designers on this show and not all of them do well. It's not a format that works for everyone. I'm sure that, almost every season, the best designer probably doesn't win: it's the person who produces the best work (and doesn't break down emotionally) under really crazy circumstances.
Sadly, this was a tough lesson for Meg, but maybe she learned something and will continue to learn. Other people on reality TV have made mistakes and repaired their image after doing work on themselves. It's up to Meg whether she takes the correction and grows from it or blames everyone else.

On a somewhat lighter note, am I the only one who had never heard of that "influencer" who served as guest judge? I don't use TikTok, which I am right there with you.
But what struck me was, when this influencer was first introduced and seen by the designers, they got so excited; almost twitter-pated. I thought, Really? All an influencer is, is a talking head spouting opinions. If you want to follow, there you go. But if you want to be creative, think outside the box, come up with something original, as I would HOPE these designers do... why would you even give place to an influencer?
I guess what I am saying, I know me better than anyone. Influencers, like all of us, are free to have opinions, but if we get to the point we can't even dress ourselves without another opinion, or someone steering the way, that will be a sad day indeed.

In the early seasons, Heidi would come on to the runway at the beginning of each episode. The winning designer from last week would be given the choice of keeping their model or choosing another one. Once that decision was made, Heidi would draw the names of the other designers out of her bag and they would each choose a model. Because they kept the model who worked with the eliminated designer, there would be more models than there were designers. The final chosen designer would have to choose between the two remaining models, with the model not chosen being eliminated. (The model paired with the designer who won the season would get a photoshoot in Vogue.) I'm glad they stopped doing this on PR because I always felt sorry for the eliminated models. How must it feel to stand there and watch all of the other models get chosen? It must have felt like they were back in middle school again. I have watched this show since its first season and I cannot remember anyone ever changing models with another designer. In fact, that sometimes added to the drama. You occasionally had a designer who complained about their model. In one infamous season, a male designer treated his model like trash, and the producers gave her a talking-head shot and let her badmouth him right back.

I loved when they did a show on the models of Project Runway. I was probably the only one who loved it because it was only on for one season.

I enjoyed that as well and I like that Brandon calls the models by name on the runway.

I'm glad Meg left too. That was ridiculous.
The patchwork outfit was ridiculous too, but I understood why he wanted to do it. Too bad it turned out so horrible!! Since Meg left, I didn't have problem with them not eliminating anyone this episode. I don't think Darren or Kenneth are in it for the long run anyway, so it's okay with me that they stay to make another garment or two.
I love Christian, and think the contestants are being snarky to him. I have absolutely no problem with his honest assessments and critiques so far this season.
I'm enjoying the judges, many of the designs, and this season in general! Guess I'm in the minority....

I loved when they did a show on the models of Project Runway. I was probably the only one who loved it because it was only on for one season. I loved that show, too! Sometimes Heidi would drop in to the loft where the models were staying and they would all shoot the bull. I remember once when some poor model asked Heidi if she ever had to model something she didn't like. "Oh, yeah," Heidi replied. "It's a hazard of the job." It was fascinating to see the show from the other side. Some of these designers think they're geniuses, but you know their models are just wincing as they have to walk down the runway in a terrible look.

Exactly why I loved it, it was a totally different perspective and I also loved when they cheered for 'their' designer. I would love to know more about the models, Mimi is insanely gorgeous, so even if she had nothing to say, just looking at her makes me happy. I would also like to hear from the figured models to see how they feel when they have to model yet another trench coat.

I finally got caught up with the first four episodes. I agree with what so many of you have said about Meg and how this episode played out. She attempted to be an ally, did poorly at it but mostly she just needed to be quiet so others could work! I think that her behavior brought out the worst in the group that ganged up on her in their interest to protect Kenneth. She hit many cultural nerves in those that freaked out on her and they blew up on her and it seems like they couldn't even listen to what she was trying to say? Those who were angry with her appeared to hurt in their own way by her behavior. It's possible that we didn't see everything that Meg said or did but based on how they edited her, she owned her mistakes and she admitted that she wasn't cut out for this competition and the pressure it put on her. She became hysterical and basically couldn't find a way to work out what she was trying to say; that it had been too many hours in and would mean too much work for her to change. I don't think she could have said no gracefully in that situation and I think that's what burned her and made her go out of control.
