I wonder how the parishioners felt after seeing Shan say that she listens to them only to convince them to do it her way. I like Tiffany, she's a New Yorker! Sorry to see her go. And I'm really backing Xander after that move last council and was so glad he didn't use his idol. Nasser, please wake up and get to playing!!! Can you imaging coming from eating a feast and then eating some of the food from the have nots? And not seeing how that might be anger-inducing? I hope the focus leaves Xander, Nasser, and Evie and starts to settle on the bigger players. Everyone knows that regardless of what job anyone may have, in order to play Survivor you have to outwit the best way possible and sometimes it could make a mild person quite bold in ways they were never before. In real life, I'm quite a shy and delicate little flower, but, who knows, maybe if I got on survivor I'd become quite a beast? Or maybe I'd be devoured with my bones left on the beach after the first day? I wonder if Shan were a man if she would get the same treatment?

I wonder if Shan were a man if she would get the same treatment? Not for me. I envision one of my male pastors saying this and I feel very upset and very embarrassed. I definitely would not want one of them saying this about me and would not be pleased. There would definitely be trust broken there. Would I want them to lose their job over it? That is harder, I really like all of them and some have kids and stuff - so something said on a reality TV show that isn't racist or horrendous? Maybe not that far but I would definitely be pretty upset about it and have some distrust. I have to say I don't see them saying that though. Because I do have trust in them. And I don't see most of them going on Survivor. Maybe the one that does ironmans. I wonder if any of them watch Survivor ...

I get that she is in a game and that's fine, outwit all you want. But my comment was more about her talking about her parishioners and that she listens to them, only to get her way. That's a real life comment, not a game one.
And I don't think it's a gendered issue either, I agree with allornothing, if a male pastor said that, I'd still wonder. Although I would be less suprised that he would say such a thing. If I belonged to a church, I would like my ideas to be heard, not shut down because of someone's ego.

Even if it were a male pastor that made that comment about listening to the congregation so they can sway their opinion to their way I would be hesitant to still attend. I'm sorry but just because someone is the pastor doesn't mean they automatically know best for the congregation. They are still human and mistakes can be made. Game play, that's different. I don't have a problem with that attitude in gameplay but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
