Does anyone know what Shan said when Richard was voted off? I couldn’t understand.

I can't believe Xander got NO votes. What were they thinking?
While I'm glad for Erika, and having a woman win after so long, etc., I still don't have a clear understanding of why they chose her over Xander. AND, if they hadn't put in that awful "twist" she would've been voted out.
And I still don't buy that this was the most difficult season ever and all that jazz they keep saying. Most dangerous? Okay, whatever.
Have to say, I liked Ricard much more after he wasn't with Shan. I would've rooted for him to win had he stayed in the game! But once he commented in the after show about being such a great duo, I remembered why I didn't like him earlier.

I thought Erika had a chance, but once she started talking, (and I played some back), I saw Xanders face when he was looking at Erika, that's when I told DH , Erika has won this. Heck I even liked the way Heather conducted herself at the end, and she didn't start until half way through. It was never about a woman winning for me, but I think Erika did a lot, we never saw( much like not seeing enough of Danny)..I was glad Deshawn never won, because he did throw tantrums, who voted for him, Danny? You never know how the jury will vote..

BEfore jury I thought Xander likely had it but it would be close.
During Jury I felt Erika was winning people over and started to think it was her. I thought she might win because DeShawn will pull what should have been a Xander vote or 2. Plus I felt Evie might vote for Erika from the early women power attitude thing she expressed AND Liann still had Xander hate (no way did I think she was a big enough person to get over that) and she would pull Shan into that. Thats 3 for Erika and then Xander might lose DAnnys vote to Deshawn. Half already gone from Xander so Erika just needed 1 more and I thought she did well enough at the end to get it.
Clearly, I ALSO misread the jury and Erika got more votes than I predicted.
I haven't finished - just got to the winner - have to leave for work (I watch during my am work out and while making lunches) - will finish later tonight or tomorrow am.

I was quite happy that Xander made it to the end. I am not disappointed that Erika won simply because she also had to dig from the bottom. I was hoping for Xander over Erika, but that next to final tribal I think he lost because he came across as “I know what the jury is thinking “ and that was not going to go over well with Shan and others.
Dangerous season? Eh. The choice that DeShawn had to make was do or die, so in a sense, I guess. It’s a little over sold.

I had been rooting for Xander to win, then last night Erica had me rooting for her also. I thought during tribal council that Erica was doing much better than Xander so I had a feeling that she would pull it out. I did not expect Xander to get no votes at all. That is surprising to me.

I am so happy that Erika won! For a long time this season I never imagined this would be the outcome but she did a great job playing from the bottom and adapting and positioning herself during the merge. It feels so good to no longer have to say Sarah Lacina is the last female winner.
A lot of people say Xander was robbed but I think Xander robbed himself. Xander really lost the game when he took Erica to the final 3, he really underestimated her and just did not have a good read on the jury at all. Xander should have taken Heather to the Final 3 I am still in shock that he sent her to fire.
Deshawn has been a mess but I was proud of him for winning that fire challenge against Heather because it made the Final 3 more interesting. I personally don't mind having the winner reveal/reunion on the island. I enjoyed the raw moments from the players that we wouldnt necessarily have gotten in Los Angeles. There was none of the Sia money, talking to kids from the audience, it didnt feel rushed i really enjoyed it

Congratulations to Erika! I thought this was one of Survivor’s better seasons, but I didn’t care for the immediate reading of the votes. I’m sure that decision was COVID-related, but I like to see the players “all cleaned up,” and several months later.
I think they should stick with the shorter season. That worked out well. I think they should ditch the sentence-reciting thing…. butterflies being dead relatives, a goat slipping on Astroturf…. If Survivor MUST have the players recite sentences, I think it should be something they could recite at multiple challenges that wouldn’t look suspicious to the others, like, “Jeff, I’m doing this for my kids” or “It’s really hot out here.” Those kind of comments are so mundane, a person could recite them at multiple challenges without anyone out-of-the-loop realizing it’s a secret message.
Xander’s biggest mistake was taking Erika. He should have had her make fire. I thought Xander got a bad edit during the finale. He answered the questions well at tribal, but he sounded cocky during his one-on-one interviews. It was hard to root for him after that.
The fire making challenge was a nail-biter. I love when the lead toggles back and forth like that.

I agree, I really liked it. No fluff. Also, wow, that fire challenge was crazy! Loved that Erica won and I liked that she got support from Ricard.
Also, didn't the survivors in the first season have to catch rats and eat them? I think that was the toughest season. Also when people had to boil water and drink it. Not sure why they kept saying this was the toughest.

Some younger watchers have only seen the most recent.

Not sure why they kept saying this was the toughest. Yes, season 1 some players were eating rats 🤢 And yes, in earlier seasons they didn’t have a well to get their water & had to boil it beforehand. In season 2 (Australia), I remember some of the players getting so malnourished that they were losing their hair & Colby made a deal with Jeff to trade his giant Texas flag, that they were using as a tarp, in exchange for some rice for the tribe after their camp flooded & they lost all their rice. Season 3 (Africa) was difficult because they were pretty much stuck in their enclosures except for challenges. Not to mention how scary it was because they could hear the lions roaring at times 😳 also, didn’t Lex get dysentery that season? As a viewer, I really didn’t find this season to be difficult at all compared to other seasons, especially the early ones.

Especially Seasons 2 & 3. Those people were darned near starving to death & in Season 3 many if not all of them had to be treated for parasites afterwards. Plus, they were getting really loopy at the end, paranoid, angry, mean etc. toward their own friends & teammates. I think they all needed mental health help to set themselves right.

OK so just got thru the approval n all. Really?? Xander got not one vote? Not one? Come on. Yeah its 2021, but let's be serious. And I suppose the alliance of four was not at all about pigmentation. Let it have happened the other way around.

I stopped watching after they voted out Ricard. none of the others really impressed me. I was hoping Xander would give him his idol. I mean after all what does Xander do it just find idols and let that take care of him through? I guess I’m going to have to watch the after show or rather when the jury questions the players. And I really don’t understand where this Zander love is coming from. He really didn’t do much.

I didn't like this season much. Really didn't like the players much. I met up with a fellow fan a day or so ago and she convinced me to watch. I watched in 20 minutes bits. It still felt cringey. Wow that was the best final tribal council I have ever seen.
What was amazing is how Ricard was directing the jury, or should I say advocating for Erika.
How did Xander get no votes? What did the jury see that we did not?
Very HAPPY that Deshawn got smacked for his temper tantrums.
