Nayte is moving to Minnesota soon so they are close to his family in Winnipeg ... since mom's are besties.
OMG ... they got a down payment for their new house? It's been a looooong time since any couple got a present. Tptb must really like them!

Oh, so nice to see the two moms be friends and staying in touch. They're both teachers, too, so they have that in common. Nayte's moving to Minnesota soon and they are house hunting. The show gifts the happy couple with a (what I assume is) hefty down payment for a house 🏠. Sweet!!!!

These are mean. Seriously??? Didn't Kaitlyn do a whole thing on bullying and they are making Clayton read these out loud. I don't find these funny.

There is some debate about the amount Michelle and Nayte recieved. Some say $200,000, but I think it's probably more like $20,000.

Poor Brandon! He was so sweet. He matched Michelle at the after the rose, too -- they looked like a cute couple!
But Michelle and Nayte were so happy! They looked adorable, and their moms being friends were sweet too. I hope they live happily ever after! ❤
Those mean tweets were stupid, and I felt bad for him. Clayton seems nice enough, and his season is already finished so there's nothing they can do now about it. Granted, there were lots of men of color that would've been interesting too, so maybe they will consider them in the future.
It's so weird that they showed which girls made it to the end, though. Wow. That "intimate" confession seemed SO produced/forced. Poor guy.
I didn't mind Kaitlyn, but I never have. She doesn't bother me, and I thought she did well for not having Tayshia to do it with.

I wonder if it's like the engagement rings, contingent on them getting married or at least staying together for at least a couple of years. Considering the track record of this franchise, it's a pretty good bet for the show. Chances are they won't stay together & will owe the money back. I liked them together on the ATFR part. But then again, I usually like the couples together at this point. I liked the Moms being friends too. I also liked how Michelle's Mom is crazy about Nayte now too. The way Michelle's Mom seemed to vastly prefer Brandon reminded me of Sean Lowe's parents vastly preferring his F2 also. Look how that turned out. One of the very few successful marriages this franchise produced.

As far as the amount, I believe Michelle sort of whispered what it was a few seconds after she saw the check. I heard her say "[something] thousand." If anyone has the show taped, maybe playing that part back a few times and listening closely will reveal what she said. Surely it can't be $200,000. That's a down payment on a 1- or 2-million-dollar house, not a place for a newly married (or engaged) couple in Minnesota. Brandon for the next Bachelor! That fellow is a GEM ... sweet, cute, sexy, adorable, loyal, smart, supportive, caring! Probably too good to be the Bachelor, but somebody who wants and deserves a good man needs to snatch him up.

Holy crap!!! I'm happy for them, but why were they singled out for this huge gift? Surely the franchise hasn't been doing this.

They haven't given out gifts in ages, but when they did it was stuff like trips which, let's face it, were things they could get comped and didn't cost them much. $200,000 is huge! Way more than any previous couple. I get they liked Michelle and maybe them as a couple, but that is an incredible gift. Also, this season really did poorly in the ratings...much blame to the Tuesday time slot....and neither Michelle nor Nayte have a ton of SM followers. The reward seems disproportionate. That is probably more than double what Michelle was paid to be the lead. (Usually $75,000 seems to be their go to for the Bettes lately.) I really want to know why?

If anyone sees an explanation anywhere, or even solid speculation, I hope they'll post it here. I'm definitely happy for them; just don't understand it at all! Strange, indeed. Are they going to start doing this for every couple that says they're ready to move in together?

Maybe they want to bribe them to stay together.

Maybe they want to bribe them to stay together. By the looks of those two, I don't think they need to bribe them. I'm sure they would have been happy with $20,000. The amount is what gets me. Why??? Inquiring minds want to know!

Inquiring minds want to know! It's bizarre! They've never done this before. Maybe it's the amount they saved on Chris Harrison's Xmas bonus. Seriously, that's a down payment on a million-dollar home, hardly the norm as a starter home for a newly engaged or even newly married couple. According to Zillow, the median home price in Minnesota is just over $300,000, and about $320,000 in Minneapolis.

$200K is a drop in the bucket compared to what they would have spent on the international travel they usually do. I do think it's telling that they didn't offer any of the previous three couples a gift like this. I've seen a fair bit of Michelle and Nayte on SM and they seem to be going strong.

Maybe the franchise has come to the conclusion that a lot of these couples aren't lasting due to logistics, such as the expense of one of them having to leave their job and move.

The producers could certainly have come to the conclusion that the couples will stay together a lot longer if they have the fun excitement and romance of house hunting and decorating a “first home” to keep them entertained. It’s like a continuation of the romantic dates that they get on the show itself
Plus if one of them ends up with the house after they split. — eventually— that gives them both even more incentive to stay together for another interval.
