Stairway to Hell - Teams race through Switzerland, where racers bungee jump over 700 feet off the Verzasca Dam.
Enjoy the show!

I show TAR airing one hour later tonight, as the new time slot to make room for "Let's Make a Deal". Anyone else?

First off Ryan and Dusty and Kim and Penn are off to bungee jump. I would hate that and apparently so does Kim!
Some teams are excited to do this. Poor Sherri has no choice. Due to safely reasons...Akbar is too heavy...she has to do the challenge.
Switzerland is so beautiful. It is on my very full bucket list!
Arun and Natalia say their weakness is navigation. They got that right, they are having trouble just finding their car.
Meanwhile Raquel and Cayla are congratulating themselves on how well they are navigating, but they look to be lost.
I don't know why they are not wearing helmets for this jump. One good wind and they get blown into that concrete dam.
Dusty, Kim, one of the twins...who is happy she didn't pee herself...and Sheri...all whip through the challenge.
Cayle and Raquel finally arrive and realize they took the scenic route and not the highway.
Natalia is the last one!

Ryan and Dusty are the first to arrive at the detour...bartender race or sausage encased. Basically racing up a ton of stairs carrying 12 bottles of wine and chestnuts or making 4 perfect rings of sausages.
Boys go for bartending. They like physical stuff, nothing to think about. They split it up each carrying 3 bags of chestnuts and then saw the stairway to heaven.
Twins arrive next and they are doing the sausage. Kim and Penn are there and going for the stairs.
Natalia and her dad are going the wrong way and starting to panic. Raquel and Cayla aren't much better.
Akbar and Sheri arrive and are doing the stairs...they will die. They try carrying the wine in one go and are quickly bringing them back because it is too much. They are arguing and she drops a bottle. They discuss their dynamic and how they are both very competitive.
Guys are done and trying to find where the pit stop is. Twins are also done and dedicating this to their grandma who passed away.
Ryan and Dusty are team one and are going to Dominica. I loved Dominica. It is not as touristy as the other Caribbean islands. Lots of rainforests and great for hiking.
The twins and Kim and Penn are next. The first two teams leave on the first plane on the next leg.
Raquel and Cayla are also doing sausage and father and daughter still haven't even arrived. First sausage try is a fail.
Akbar and Sheri are done. I'm amazed they didn't pass out. Girls are also done and pass them. Teams 4 & 5.
Natalia and dad make sausages and seem to finish quickly. They are last, but it is a non elimination leg. They will be leaving last on the next leg on plane 3.
I thought this would be a non elimination leg. Didn't think they could afford to eliminate another team this quickly.
Next week they are in Corsica, France! Another bucket list pit stop for me.

Poor Sheri! She HAD to do this challenge because of a weight restriction, which her lovely husband exceeds. (I haven't read other comments, sorry if it was said already. I don't want to know what happens.)

Oh wow, Penn is so sweet! He was in tears about Kim taking that jump, knowing how hard it was for her, picturing his life without her (if she didn't come back up from it!), and I just think he was so proud of her. That's very touching, what a sweet guy.

I was crying for Kim as soon as she flew down. OMG! Poor Penn. poor Sheri! I can’t believe she is going to do this. While her spouse sits out another one. I guess his talent is criticizing.

I find it interesting that no one gets sick after jumping.

This leg I keep noticing how differently the two married couples, Penn/Kim and Akbar/Sheri interact with each other.
And I soooo want Sheri to snap back at Akbar and tell him, "I'm not your 'bro,' you idiot." His pride in her making that jump lasted about ten minutes. I also don't buy that their "bickering" is because they're athletes. It's not really even bickering. It's just Akbar criticizing Sheri and Sheri taking it. I really want him to have to do a challenge that he's terrible at all on his own because he's scared, just so he can see how it feels.

Love the haughty expression on that little dog's face.
Also love that the number one team said that coming in first two times in a row means nothing. They both know things can turn on a dime. No ego there at all.

Akbar keeps attributing his nasty attitude, to being "athletes." First of all, just because you consider yourself an athlete doesn't mean that you naturally "bicker" or put down your teammate. Secondly, they were college athletes, likely quite a few years ago, so being out of shape is perfectly understandable and probable. Why expect her to still be in top condition just because she played basketball before she had kids many years ago? Unbelievable, that guy.
Previews make it look like Team #1 (Ryan and Dusty?) is behind in the next episode, and have to catch up. Making cheese in France or something?

I could not of done the bungee jump, damn that was high, and poor Sheri had to do it. Akbar keeps saying they are both athletes, I'm not seeing it. He gets on my nerves. I'm glad it was a NEL , because maybe he can go home next week! The twins did very well, I like Ryan and Dusty. Penn is so sweet with Kim. Next week France!

Lulu and Lala really moved themselves up, good for them! I thought it was so sweet how they were thinking of their grandmother. Those steps looked horrible. Seems like the sausage challenge was the quicker one tonight. I like when it's not the physical challenge that's a little quicker. It seems like in the early seasons that was a more sure bet but hasn't been that way lately. I like a little bit of thrill stuff. I love roller coasters but I am not sure I could do the bungy jumping. Secure heights don't bother me but open heights do. I get vertigo at those. I'd be more likely to get dizzy and fall off than be able to jump! I felt for the ones who were scared. Oh gosh. They edit this show so well. Watching the FA's congratulate each other on how great they were doing as they're taking longer to get there than the other team who left are the sane time as them was pretty funny. They did have a good attitude about it though... joking about the scenic or fast highway route. It did look like they got pretty cool things to see! To put it mildly, Akbar's motivational speeches leave something to be desired. Lol Oh, I don't know the difference between the guys. Is the one who did the road block in the last episode the same one whose leg was cramping? Sheri mentioned her legs felt like jelly so I was wondering how much of an impact that made on them.

Akbar could have used the 19 months off to lose some weight and then he could have done the bungy jump. He bothers me so much the way he talks to his wife. I hope he sees how Kim and Penn interact and learns something.
I do want to see him struggle performing a challenge. Then maybe he will think twice about talking to his wife like that.
I was surprised that it turned out to be a non-elimination round tonight. Hopefully Arun and his daughter slow down and think about where they are supposed to be going first and that they improve their navigational skills immensely!

She is!!! I could feel her fear and it gave me tears. And what??? Athletes? Lol. Is that why they chose the physical challenge? That they consider themselves athletes?
How beautiful was that scenery?????

I don’t really like that they’re starting off in groups fifteen minutes apart each leg. Doesn’t give much benefit to teams who come in at the beginning vs, say, Natalia and Arun who should rightfully be some distance behind.
Akbar continues to be annoying. So many places to throw him off too ugh, I don’t know how Sheri was not driven to it by the temptation. He is a horrible person. Well, maybe he’s ok in real life, I don’t know, but here…no.
I don’t know why the flight attendants weren’t concerned they kept going through towns on the drive….I would have been thinking this is wrong, I should be on a highway. But they were very sure of themselves. At least they didn’t seem to get too upset, and kept their good attitudes.
One look at the stairs and I would have been off to the sausages. Lol.

he would have a very long silent treatment from me. Agree!!

I have bungee jumped off of a bridge as high as the dam as well as a platform on a hot air balloon. Safety isn't the issue as so many precautions are in place. A fear of heights is what you have to deal with. I personally love the height and the adrenaline from the jump. Good for Sheri!! Akbar must be totally humiliated as he is walking the halls of his high school each Thursday morning after the show airs. He's an ass to his wife. With the year and a half delay in racing you would think that they both would have worked on getting in better shape. Penn and Kim said that they climbed lots of stairs during their time off in preparation. I really want them to win!

That is what Akbar said, but bungee jumps have a weight limit so that is the real reason. When I jumped it was 250 pounds.

Between last week and this week I watched Dream / Killer and have to say I can't help but root for Ryan and Dusty now. And I still love Penn and Kim, so glad they are so awesome to each other since I already found them funny. I love most of other teams as well. I know before the shut down I was not rooting for Akbar and Sheri - so nothing has changed there. I also didn't like Lala and Lulu but they are growing on me this time around. So I am happy so many awesome teams to root for and only 1 that go ahead and go home and then I will be sad every elimination after that.

Between the bungee jumping and those stairs, this leg would have done me in. Everyone should have someone who loves them like Penn loves Kim. He is such a sweetheart, I love the way those two interact. Akbar, on the other hand...what a jerk. Sherri has WAY more patience with that clownery than I would.

I can't stand Akbar & hate the way he talks to Sheri.
That being said, he looks to just be a big man in general. He's obviously quite tall, & he's not a stringbean. He doesn't look to be overweight (to me). My husband is 6'4" & weighs 225. He's been as high as 275 (and he still didn't look fat), & as low as 200 (too skinny, I hated it). So it would be really easy for Akbar to exceed the 250 weight limit & be within a normal weight range for his age & height.
Yuck. I hate to defend him in any capacity, but this was bothering me. Maybe because my husband is a big man & I'd hate to see him get roasted for something like this.
BTW, he doesn't talk to me like Akbar talks to Sheri! He's like Penn in that respect!
