Top 24 at Disney's Aulani Resort in Hawaii - The first of two nights of spectacular performances by the top 24 kicks off. Alum Jimmie Allen (Sunday) and pop star Bebe Rexha (Monday) serve as mentors, offering advice to the aspiring superstars.
Enjoy the shows!

I like how Jimmie asks the contestants about what the judges have advised them. His interaction with Mike was touching! It was nice to see that he's there with them at rehearsals too, and the show, not just this little sit-down where they chat and do a little singing.
Tristen again was one of my favorite performances. He's so quirky, but his voice is so good!
Nicolina is amazing. She looked so pretty too!
I think most of them had a good night on that stage! Lots of fun performances. I'd love to be in Hawaii!!

I loved Nicolina last night. I’m glad she dressed the part. She looked lovely and her big voice just seems effortless. She also hits the right balance of modesty without being shy/nervous.

I agree with you both Gutmutter and Navybelle. Nicolina is, by a mile, my fave and honestly, Tristen is top 3 for me right now. Mike Parker was also one of the better showings last night with Emyerson (I know I may be partial to being a fellow Clevelander, but she is unique). I will give Hunter (sorry I can't call her HunterGirl, sigh) a pass because she did pick the right song and she did well in her attempts to get the crowd into it all. Other than that, meh... I am not feeling the rest of the bunch. I guess there is a report that one contestant in the 24, in tonight's bunch, has left the competition. I wonder if they will only let 1 person go then or maybe bring someone back? We all know how well THAT goes over... eep! What can I say about Jimmie? Nothing, the man was perfect last night with everyone. I adore him and I am not a country music fan but he is just the best IMO.

I laughed that Jimmie got the nod for new artist but he has been laboring for over 10 years....glad that he has finally made it. He was right to be blown away by the quality of voices he heard with this group of AI kids. He is more personality and song writing but he was a wonderful mentor. He stayed with them every step of the way and showed them so much love.
I agree that Nicolina is an amazing vocalist and I am so glad she looked good last night. I was holding my breath that she didn't have a wardrobe malfunction. Tristan has toned himself down in contrast to the guy we saw at the audition, but he still is his unique self and I too really like him now.
Good heavens, another contestant leaving....can't wait to see who it is.

I’m glad to hear people like Tristan. Another site I go to thinks he’s too fake. I don’t think that at all. I have to keep reminding myself he’s only 17 because he seems very comfortable on stage. Im also a fan of Emyrson.

I like Tristen a lot. He is a good singer and so entertaining. I see that some might think he is like Constantine but I think he is sincere.

Im also a fan of Emyrson. I find him anything BUT fake. I find him to be genuinely and unapologetically himself. He has real talent, and that in itself is so amazing to see at that level in someone his age. I too forget he is only 17. The only thing I would change is all the earrings he tends to have on each show.. I cringe that its all going to get caught up in his hair and that would be an ugly, painful mess to fix! I would also love to see his mom get a bit of a make over, and I say that with love not malice. She is too cute for words and that 50's hair is weighing her little face down.. I keep thinking Frankie and Annette will be showing up to ask her to play some Beach Blanket Bingo. Her love and support for her son gets me everytime. Everyone should have someone like his mom in their corner {Spoiler for anyone who didn't know} The contestant that left after this round was the 3rd Platinum Ticket girl Kenedi Anderson everyone is speculating.

I admit to being truly shocked: it's Kenedi that left the competition. Wow. And before I knew that, I started to think she was having a really good night and I could see why they picked her! I wonder what happened, all they said was "personal reasons." Anyone heard anything? Tonight's group hasn't impressed me as much, but there have been a few highlights. I loved Lady K's performance! She's just so good, and I really am rooting for her to turn her life around. Noah was good tonight too, and knowing that everyone will say White Guy With Guitar! But, I just like that kind of voice, not necessarily the country in it, but the raspy, gravelly kind of singing. Allegra was the one who really surprised me and not in a good way. Her voice just sounded odd to me, and I didn't like the performance at all. Leah is quirky, weird, and I didn't like the Blondie song she was singing at first, but then she came around and did okay with it. I won't be voting for her, but understand if others do. Flippy Cameron singing CCR? He's such a huge goof, but he's got a voice I like. Katy looks scared, holding her cheeks/face. I'd have liked to hear more actual singing rather than more of a staccato talk-sing kind of thing during most of it. Wow, I can't be the only one wondering what drugs he's on....

I'll be watching night 2 today - which once again means I won't be voting...sigh. Unless I randomly choose a favorite and vote for them during the broadcast airing of the show, then check on how they're doing on Hulu next day. Anyway - Night 1 had some wonderful singers and entertainers. I do love a rock person and Tristan seems to be the guy this season. Nicolina was great and some of the blond young'uns were very good. Season is shaping up nicely.

Fritz and Leah were my top 2 tonight with Christian a VERY close 3rd.
Sadly, Kenedi had one of her better nights, too bad she decided to withdraw.
I do like Cameron but I get too much anxiety just watching him he is toooo much for me. Ava made me feel like she was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, i love that song but she did nothing to it to make it her own. Lady K, well.. she meant well. :/ I just kept thinking the whole time that she missed lyrics, and she had wrong lyrics. I attribute that to her lack of vocal control more than not knowing the words.
Everyone else was very "Meh" to me over all last night and I was not feeling Bebe as a mentor.

I far preferred the Sunday performances over those of Monday. I did have a problem Sunday with so many of the kids using single names....just seems a bit pretentious for unknowns.
I found Cameron vastly annoying...Even the judges seemed to be looking at him askance.....it was just too much.
I also don't like the predictions that "you could win the whole thing"....of course they could....any of them could.

I feel sorry for Kenedi as she will be haunted by the scribes, looking for her reason for leaving the show. Every element of her life will be scrutinized.
