The reviewing was fun, and seeing some of the behind the scenes stuff was interesting. The costumes get better each season! And I enjoyed the "Don't You Forget About Me" montage at the end by the eliminated singers! LOL There were some really good singers on this season, such as En Vogue and Jennifer Holiday, that didn't make it through. And, lots of not-so-good ones too! Maybe even more than the other seasons. Shaggy was a lot of fun after getting un-masked! The Ringmaster is really good. I won't reveal, but I looked up some guesses/spoilers, and would never know this person who it's suspected to be. Great voice, though! The Prince sounded familiar, but he faked me out. He's very talented, too, I just don't know who he is!  Likewise, Firefly isn't someone I recognize, but has lots of talent too. I wasn't sure about her after the "dramatic emergency" which I thought might be a gimmick. This episode talked more about it, so I guess it was real. Anyway, she's got a terrific voice. I guess since I don't know any of the finalists, I'll be fine w/whoever wins! Even though there is so much about this show that's annoying and fake (those audience reaction shots! ugh! So cheesy.), I like the mystery part of it. So, I just FF through the stupid parts! Like when they guess wrong all season, then at the very last minute, one of them suddenly comes up with the correct guess. Yeah, right. For once, I'd love to see them all figure it out, and all say "Yep that's Dionne Warwick" (or whatever), instead of pretending to not know and being shocked. The other thing that occurs to me as I watch this show (days late), is how good the singers sound. Even with big heads on, we hear their voices nice and clear -- WHY can't Idol do the same thing? It seems singers get drowned out on Idol each season, because the music and background singers are so loud. If the singers who are heavily masked up can be heard, why can't Idol's? |

I have always assumed we are hearing a recording of them singing. Thinking of Kirstie Alley, she was so out of breath dancing but it did not come through on the singing. I think it would be difficult to be heard clearly through the masks. |

dagwood, I agree, but then what about the "panic attack" and breathing problem the firefly had when her mask got caught under her chin? And I remember when someone lost his head, we heard him say "What do I do" or something like that, so he was miked up, and it seemed like they were actually singing onstage.
I'm not sure about the whole thing. Who knows?
And today I saw a headline saying the show is fake (didn't read the article however). It wouldn't surprise me.
