I'd say the right person went home, based on the dish she presented. "Deconstructed" means torn apart?  I understand she was out of options when her cake wasn't done, but she served crumbs! |

I felt bad for her going out on a cake, of all things. There really wasn't much she could do with that mess. Tommy better step it up, he's not doing well. That plate looked like something my cat would barf up. |

Rather than serving the dessert on a large plate with the cake errors showing, I wonder if it would have been better for her to serve it in a dish, more like a trifle. It certainly would have looked better and might have saved her.
