A little challenge history. Going back to the first challenge season in 1998, Sean from Real world Boston and Rachel from Real world San Francisco met, and are still married, with nine children.

Season 38 Episode 1 - "Don't Die for Me, Argentina" - October 12, 2022
Initial thoughts cast list:
So glad no Bananas not so glad about CT taking time off but it will be nice to see other veterans get a chance or the rookies will succeed in taking over.
Rats ... Fessy is back and trying to make moves on Olivia and they have only been there a day or two plus, maybe the plane ride also and he is worried if she likes him or not. It's wayyyy tooo soon to worry about that.
Rats ... its Kaycee and her brother ... how boring. What! They had to leave and two more rookie/rookie teams replace them. Wow that is the most exciting thing Kaycee has ever done on The Challenge. Thanks, Kaycee in the words of TJ "hope to see you never".
That first elimination was so exciting just because it was a whole bunch of people in mud trying to find the right ball.
I am getting the impression that this group of rookies has some brains and can think for themselves, add, multiply, and strategize.
Too bad, so sad that Nelson can't remember how old he is.
Not liking Jakk (Laurel's partner) right now.
Wow. Loved the twists in the elimination with the remaining 3 teams choosing daggers thinking that Kim and Colleen were going into elimination against Sam and Kailah. Instead K&C were safe and saved Laurel and Jakk. Wish they had thrown Laurel and Jakk in instead. Still don't know who that would work.
Shocked that both Kailah and Tori panicked during elimination. Kailah does not always remain calm under pressure but why was Tori panicking so much that I thought she would step off the platform.
At least Devin took the time to figure out what directions he controlled vs what directions Tori controlled. This is the time to ignore everyone else and just concentrate on your own game.
Shocker, Bananas and Nany are back. Well not a big surprise if you were up on the current cast list and watched the special on Monday were they showed Bananas, Nany, Aneesa, Jordan, Veronica, and Darrell.
Overall first episode felt very fresh and exciting. Is it really necessary to bring back the Old Farts?
Oh, almost forgot, Turbo is a totally douche. If someone asks to be thrown into every elimination "DO IT".

I LOVE THIS TWIST!!!!
Also, I want to see Turbo obliterate Fessy in a Hall Brawl (don't know if they'll have that if they keep this format all season)
I know Turbo is a tad unhinged, but Fessy has pretty much been physically untouchable in every season he's been on, so it would be great to see him get humbled.

Yes I would like to see Turbo and Fessy go mano a mano in a Hall Brawl. However Turbo is 5' 10½" (1.79 m) and Fessy is 6′ 5″ and weights 249 lbs Turbo does practice Muay Thai and he is "CRAZY" so if they get into a fight I think Turbo could hurt Fessy. If Fessy goes into an elimination I would HOPE it is not a Hall Brawl. We have not seen him do anything but a Hall Brawl. How well would he have done in the first elimination. Can he communicate with a partner? We all know he quits if he is not winning.

Fessy is such a little bitch, he takes on people he knows he can physically dominate. To go against a guy with essentially one hand in a gripping comp is even worse than him going in against Nelson in the Hall Brawl. ITA that he's horrible at communicating with partners & is a huge toddler when he's not winning at a task. I still want to see him in some kind of physical comp against Turbo, whether it's them getting into it during the daily, or an elimination. Even though Fessy has a lot of height on Turbo, you can never underestimate crazy, lol, plus the martial arts that Turbo practices can (depending on the challenge) give him a great advantage.

Recently Fessy wrote on twitter that the Challenge Producers need to cast more professional athletes on the show as they are only good at one thing and the the regular cast would easily beat them as they are more versatile. Fessy got a lot of backlash for this statement considering how much he prides himself on his football skills and how he only does well on Hall Brawl against smaller opponents. Even Danny McCray the winner of The Challenge USA got pulled into this argument and Fessy of course tried to insult him.

Season 38 Episode 2 - "Friend or Faux" - October 19, 2022
WOW, just WOW. This is why I watch the Challenge. Amazing. Compared to Ride or Dies, The Challenge USA was boring, there was no excitement, no drama.
Nany almost in tears when she finds out Kaycee is gone.
Next day the daily challenge.
Nam and Emmy have been eliminated because Emmy does not want to be there.
Nam has the worst luck with partners, there either want to stay but are psychos (Lolo Jones) or they want to leave (Emmy).
OMG! Best challenge ever, mainly for the most spectacular fails ever.
Nany and Bananas win. Nany has always been a good partner.
Watching Bananas toss in names for the interrogation is brutal. What is sad is that Nany wanted to ask Turbo if he really wanted to go into elimination and he was totally rude to her, never letting her finish a sentence. In interrogation he was even worse.
Luv'ed the elimination it was perfect.
Then TJ just had to throw in a twist. I won't spoil I just will wait for other posters reactions.

I was just listening to the Official MTV Challenge podcast for episode 2 with Bananas as the guest. OK the guy has a big ego and a big mouth. He told a lot of funny stories about what has happened so far on the Challenge. I like the one where he just gets to the house and I don't remember if it was after of before the daily challenge, but he was in Fessy and Nelson's room talking about how the vets need to get together to eliminate all the rookies. In the meantime Robyn (Johnny's partner and winner of the first daily challenge in episode 1) is also in the room sitting on one of the beds listening to the entire conversation and Bananas doesn't know who she is or who she is partnered with. He says that was a big oops on his part.

Great episode. I just realized that Oliva was the (half) winner of Love Island. Bear, you are so right about Nam; I wanted to see him compete, but man, he has no luck. I wonder what happened. Other shows would milk that storyline of her wanting to leave. I have to respect that they chose to focus on the actual challenge, which I much rather see.
Is this 'Turbo' a character of his? I couldn't figure it out. I really hope this man isn't like that in real life. I liked all the support around Olivia and her partner.
I would Google what happened between the new person and Devin's partner, but I can't remember her name and can't remember his. I do like that she disclosed that she sought help and is on medication now, and that helped her from her 'spiral'.

I do like that she disclosed that she sought help and is on medication now, and that helped her from her 'spiral'. Nam needed a ride or die and his talent agency found someone that they represented from another reality show. Nam didn't really know Emmy she was just someone found for him. From searching on the web, there a many rumours that Turbo was very much like what we saw when he was on Survivor Turkey. Maybe it is a character he made up like a "heel" in wrestling but he plays it 24/7. Very toxic masculinity. Per Turbo, Bananas is number one idiot man, and Devin is number two pussy chicken. I don't think anyone knows what that means. As for Tori Deal, Devin's partner, the new person added is her ex-fiancé Jordan Wiseley. Tori and Jordan met on The Challenge: Dirty 30 in 2017 while she was still with her boyfriend Derrick Henry who she met on "Are You the One?". Derrick was an idiot, way beneath Tori. Derrick claimed that Tori and Jordan hooked up during the Challenge but it seems to have happened after filming ended on Final Reckoning. Tori apologized to Derrick during the reunion show. The couple dated for two years and Jordan asked Tori to marry him on War of the Worlds 2 (2019). They broke up in November 2020. Two months after Tori and Jordan broke up; for spite Tori vacationed ("hooked up", "had an affair") in Turks and Caicos with Faysal (Messy Fessy) Shafat. Tori moved back to the east coast and hasn't seen Jordan in a year and a half until episode 2 of the Challenge 38.

Ahhhhh. Oh, poor Tori, I would hate having my ex show up...anywhere.

Episode 3 - "A Bumpy Ride" - October 26, 2022
Enjoyed the entire episode. Liked the daily challenge as well as the elimination.
Fessy was a bit of a wouse in how he picked teams for Interrogation. As much as Fessy brags out what a strong and tough player he is he does not make Power Moves.
As much as Fessy now Faysal claims he is no longer Messy Fessy he is canoodling with Michele, Laurel, Annalyse, and one other.
The entire I will now use my "real" name Faysal instead of my nickname and support my Arabic culture is a bit lame when he is still messy with the ladies, shows a lot of jealousy towards Horacio being the second boyfriend for all the other women in the house Fessy does not have time for, and he lets Johnny's cockiness get to him. The same type of cockiness Fessy has been showing to other vets in his seasons of the Challenge. Didn't like what you saw in the mirror?
Tori and Jordan, liked the talk in the bar. I don't particularly like Tori nor do I hate her. I don't get her.
Very happy with the quality of the rookies this season. Liked that Johnny and Ravyn won the first daily elimination and almost won the third. Johnny does not get this is social also and you need to take care of your partner. I do think Johnny swayed Ravyn to be his Ride or Die under false emotional pretenses. Both Nurys and Ravyn get what Johnny did yet Johnny does not. Not caring for, taking care of the partnership will bite Johnny in the ass as this episode shows.
Johnny forgot about Nurys? Wow, just wow.
Rooting for Olivia and Horacio.
Oooooh, hope Bananas does NOT get his hooks into Olivia.
Status of the Players
Fifteen (15) Vets vs Eleven (11) Rookies at this point. Vets: Eight (8) Females + Seven (7) Males Rookies: Five (5) Females + Six (6) Males
Mixed Teams: Five (5) Amber & Chauncey Kaycee & Kenny Laurel & Jakk Moriah & Fessy Nurys & Nelson
Vet Teams: Five (5) Aneesa & Jordan Michele & Jay** Nany & Bananas Tori & Devin Veronica & Darrell
Rookie Teams: Three (3) Annalyse & Tommy Colleen & Kim Olivia & Horacio
**Note: I am considering Michele & Jay Vets at this point although the Vets may not think that.

Liked this episode, the daily challenge and the elimination. Good for Olivia and Horacio. Dang they did very well! Didn’t think I could like Messy Fessy any less, but ick….him messing around with so many different women Seems like that’s his focus while he’s there. Just ick.

I was not happy to see Aneesa, but also not surprised. She looks more out of shape than ever. I’m so over her, I wish they’d retire her ass. She does NOTHING to improve her performance. She doesn’t train for the show, she barely works out on the show, she smokes, she’s very overweight…I feel bad for Jordan to be paired with her. She’s going to be like a millstone around his neck.
I’m so sick of her saying she’s due for a win. She’s not. She does nothing to improve herself, she just feels entitled because she’s done 467 seasons. She’s getting too old to compete, mostly because she’s not fit. If she would get into shape &/or quit smoking, I’d have a lot more respect for her as a competitor.
Sorry if this is harsh, it’s just how I feel about her.

Sorry if this is harsh, it’s just how I feel about her. I agree. My main pet peeve with Aneesa is her total hypocrisy of always saying she wants to win, she deserves to win yet "She does nothing to improve herself".Over the years I have heard the cast laugh at Aneesa saying she wants to work out but it's too late in the day or some such excuse. I have seen her workout on the show and was shocked but the overall impression is that she doesn't workout. Veronica is also known for not working out as is Nany in previous seasons. Let's face it Aneesa is known for smoking and drinking and being very aggressive with the cast and sneaking into their beds. If Aneesa does not want to strength train fine but she doesn't work on her biggest weakness which is cardio. Aneesa has had 20 years to build an incredible cardio base but has not done it. Aneesa had a lot of connections in the house but has messy politics and cannot make a big move, can swim, will eat anything, can do puzzles, but she needs an addition skill and in her case it should be cardio, lots and lots of cardio. But that has never happened and without that additional skillset NO ONE WANTS HER AS A PARTNER FOR THE FINAL and that speaks volumes. The most embarrassing Aneesa scene is All Stars 1 when Aneesa was the only Vet coming into that season and realistically that season was made for her to win. Aneesa came in dead last in the final. Even Big Easy beat her and waited to help her up the mountain. Aneesa lives in a studio apartment in Philly, it took her over 20 years to finish her associate degree in psychology. Aneesa was a pole dancer, a stripper, a bartender. She parties a lot and it does not seem like she has any ambitions to be or do anything else. Aneesa has Jordan for a partner this season she will not win because Jordan will not be able to carry her on his back through out the final.

And I liked what Devin said about partners too, that it's really about the bond. (I am really liking him a lot this season, especially how supportive he is to Tori).
What a shame Johnny is an a-hat, but I think he was like that on Love Island as well. Speaking of Love Island...Olivia!!! Wow! I am so impressed with her. She is my favorite so far.
Fessy changing his name but not his behavior is just so Fessy. I'm really disappointed that Michelle is one of the women that is entertaining him; I thought she was smarter than that. It's incredible that he doesn't show any growth after seeing himself on these shows.

It's incredible that he doesn't show any growth after seeing himself on these shows. I think the whole call me Faysal and not Fessy and I want to represent my culture is Messy Fessy's idea of growth. He has not yelled at anyone, or got in their face to challenge them, thinking "ah, people see how I have changed", but then brags to us how many women are coming to his bed and that his leftovers are going to second rate boyfriend number two, Horacio. He is toning down the "angry young man" character but his snide and petty remarks show how immature and infantile he still is. But the all white parka look he and Moriah wore at the elimination is a bit much. Is he trying to imitate a rapper or something? Messy Fessy's love life is starting to resemble Bananas love life, who when single targets the rookie who after hooking up with him want nothing to do with him afterwards. Fessy even bragged (in an article I found elsewhere) that Tori is the one who paid for his flight out to Turks and Caicos two months after she and Jordan broke up. That is so tacky and it makes you look like a man whore.

Exactly. He thinks just having people call him by his first name represents that he has changed. He is 31 and it's really high time for him to contemplate being a better human. At least I don't have to see Josh this season.
Tori called Feysal a 'walking mistake' and that must be so tough. I doubt she is alone in thinking that.

Episode 4 - "O'liv'n on the Edge" - November 2, 2022
There are viewers who will say "Hey, wait a minute Horacio and Olivia used the same strategy to save themselves as Tommy & Analyse did last week, yet they are the good guys and Tommy & Analyse are still the bad guys.
Let's face it the game is built so you will have to eventually use some shady maneuvers to safe yourself. The thing with shady maneuvers you need to own it and not lie about it or try to wiggle your way out as everyone can see what you did. If T&A said they were scared and scrambling to save themselves most would be OK with it as that is the game.
Horacio & Olivia did not approach either K&C or D&V with the same plan T&A used last week. Nelson suggested the maneuver to both K&C and D&V during the interrogation, so any shade can be thrown onto Nelson if need be. H&O did talk further to D&V in regards to saving each other. That conversation was not had with K&C. So H&O have clean hands.
Lets be realistic, I don't think any of the nominated teams were really afraid of going into elimination against Tommy & Analyse.
Luv'ing Horacio & Olivia best new faces in ages. Luv their team dynamic.
Shoutout to both Nurys and Olivia for their BRAINS. Luv it.
Nelson would not have won that Daily without Nurys's strategy. We all know in reality Nelson is a "Dumb Blonde".
So sad to see Tommy miss getting the flag in the daily instead of showboating, so overwhelming stupid it is brain numbing.
I give credit to both Aneesa and Veronica that they always try in every daily challenge. Unfortunately, they are anchors on the necks of two Challenge Legends.
OMGosh, the bed hopping in the first 5 minutes of the episode made me want to throw all the participants some disinfectant.
Please, Laurel keep you hands off Horacio. Don't wreck the boy.
