The winter wear challenge really separated the wheat from the chaff this week, as people who didn't do very well initially rose to the occasion (Jeanette, Yannick) while others faltered somewhat (Gabriella, Curtis). This week, we find out a bit more about the designers with little vignettes peppered throughout the episode, which was nice. I'm glad Jeanette was saved last week because she came out with a vengeance; both of her looks brought the drama, and was a perfect way to open the show. Markantoine’s look was this deconstructed thing that I thought was suitable for a first look, while Sienna gave us Sassy Snow Queen. I might not understand all of Yannick's work but I know I'm excited to see what he brings to the table every week and hearing the process behind his work. That blanket...thing his first model wore was strange but damn if it didn't bring the drama, and you need that for fashion shows. His wearable look was also great, well-designed, and gave me Barbarella energy. Sadly, this week some favs faltered; Curtis's two capes looked exactly alike but different lengths, while Gabrielle gave us a man's corset over outerwear. Again. Also, in a last minute panic, Georgia made another pleated gold dress that looked extremely similar to the dress she made in the first episode, and poor Rafael had an accident with a sewing needle that sent him to the ER an hour before the fashion show!
I have to admit that even though the "bad" looks weren't really that bad, the overall quality of the work was so good this episode that the unexciting looks really stuck out, and not in a good way. Sadly, people like Gabrielle and Curtis were on 60 while everyone else was at 120. Gabrielle went home because the judges felt like they had seen everything that she could give, which was a fair assessment. Curtis got saved to work another day, and Georgia was told to retire her gold dresses, lol. Overall, a great episode.

I had to re-watch this episode, I was tired and fell asleep toward the end.
Gabrielle was the right person to send home this episode, Curtis could have gone too, he was lucky the judges didn't send him home.
Jeanette shocked me with how good her two looks were when her last week's looks were so bad and I felt the judges were being nice to save her.
Georgia really, gold dresses two weeks in a row. She was fortunate her black coat was so good.

I loved both of Jeanette's looks this week! I'm so glad she got saved, just so we could see these.
