I am completely drawn in this year! I know nothing about how the group stages work, but the passion is infectious. It’s fun to learn how it all works!

Yeah. I taped the England:Panama match which came on TV at 5 AM here. Wow...6 goals by England. I'm too old to have been part of the soccer craze that hit schools, etc., but I love watching at the elite level, even if I don't know the rules.  |

It's the upside down this time. Teams that are fan favorites/ usually do well are doing poorly (I see you, Argentina, lol) while first time teams/ones that don't do so well are dominating. It's a very exciting year, and I can't wait to see which teams will make the 16.

My good friend is Mexican and German. She is in Germany visiting family right now. Lots of long faces, but she still has a team to cheer on.

Ever since I heard that Russia was doping and Fifa was looking the other way I haven't been keen on them. Good job, Croatia for knocking them out.
I am looking very forward to the France/Belgium game. That seems more like a final, but there you go.

I set my alarm (7 AM) to watch Sweden vs. England. I couldn't lose either way as one side of my family is from England and the other from Sweden. I felt happy and sad at the same time as I had been rooting for both as they worked their way up to this point. |

Sweden lost, but at least we still have our looks! lol
whatever happens Sweden had the best looking fans of the tournament
