Sam Champion has some footwork, but he moves like a father of the bride who's just having fun.

Is it just me, or is the audio out of sync for everyone?

TikTok Mom got 6s, I had to focus on work so I didn't see the dance.

Is it just me, or is the audio out of sync for everyone? I have that too thought it was my tv as I watched something earlier on another streaming service and had the same issue.

Shangela was on fire!
I have to admit, she's a bit of a ringer, because she's a great dancer already.
I see a Wayne-Shangela final in the future...

I don't know how clinical Trevor's 'fear of dancing' really is, but starting him off with a quickstep was just mean. He did better than I thought he would, but I wonder if he's playing up being scared... 5-5-5-6.

I hate to say this but I kinda miss the commercial breaks. You really have to focus, although I guess I could hit the pause button if I don't mind being behing everyone else...

I thought she did a great job! Which she? You're going to need to use names in this thread - we're all watching at different times!
Okay, here's a plus for it being in Disney+ - I can watch live with the east coasters! I didn't realize that until just now, so I"m an hour behind, but YAY! SO happy to Louis back in the ballroom!
Just from the opening, it looks like Jason Lewis is arrhythmic. Alas. Apparently, he can't look like that AND dance. Maybe his dance will prove me wrong. I hope so, for Peta's sake.
Len looks gaunt. I wonder if he's ill
ETA: One of the recappers on Gold Derby said many of the men tonight were on the "struggle bus" and now that's my favorite expression

Who knew Smith Jerrod was such a terrible dancer? Yikes. He did need to go, but I always hated the night one eliminations. I wish they'd go back at least to Tuesday night elimination shows or at least wait a week or two to give someone the boot. I feel especially bad for Peta. She's had a rough last six or so months. It would have been nice for her to have something to be distracted by. Hopefully, she stays around to do the group numbers. I love that they brought back the troupe dancers! I missed that when they did away with them. I also like that the pros have last names again I thought it was sort of disrespectful when they just started referring to them by only their first names. Of course, I also thought it was disrespectful when Brooke, after hosting for how many seasons, still couldn't pronounced Chmerkovskiy correctly. I wasn't as blown away by Charli as the judges were. She was okay. Maybe part of it is that I never liked Mark. Still, I thought she was stiff and awkward. Cheryl Ladd has to have a painting in her attic to look that good. Definitely one of those "I'll have what she's having" situations Selma was lovely, but I feel like this might be as good as it gets for her. That was a slow, smooth dance. If they give her the jive or cha cha, it's going to be rough. I love Shangela and I love that Gleb is totally on board having her as a partner. I've seen some nasty comments about "real women" (which we won't tolerate here, in case anyone was wondering) but I'm happy that the audience and everyone else embraced her. I've also seen some "Poor Gleb" comments online and yeah, he doesn't look unhappy to me. People forget that dancers - even in ballroom - are surrounded by members of the LGBTQ+ community. I definitely was. I love that this show is expanding and becoming more inclusive. Plus, Shangela was awesome! Tyra seems slightly toned down, although I still find her annoying. Alfonso was okay. No one is as good at that job as Erin was. She's so quick on her feet and always has a snappy comeback or a funny remark. Hopefully, Alfonso will get better, although I sort of think that's not a learned skill.

I tuned in a fee minutes late since I didn’t know exactly when I could view it. Fortunately, I tuned in in time to be able to see most of the dances and vote before that window closed, so that was nice to be able to vote with the East Coast for the first time in years!

You can watch live starting at 8pm Eastern, but you can also watch from the beginning if you tune in after that. That's what I did, since I wasn't sure if they had it locked down by time zone and I wouldn't be able to watch until 8pm Pacific. I turned it on at around 6pm my time and just watched an hour behind.
I do like that it airs live for the whole country, so we can all vote. OH, and now Canadians can vote!

I was so glad to see that DWTS was getting a new host, he I can tolerate and so glad that Tyra was being replace. What she is still there?
Anyone notice her body gets bigger but her head is getting smaller.

Loved the show with the new hosting style! Alfonso is perfect for this, and he neutralizes Tyra. Really enjoyed, Jordin, Wayne, Shangela,Daniel, and Joseph.

Finally watched the show. So glad I can fast forward thru most of the packages and were there one or two commercials?
Some very good performances, some bad but the folks tried. You could see for some folks there bodies just don't move that way, but they make the effort and they had fun.
Cheryl Ladd what ever she is doing spread the love.

I finally watched it last night. It was a tad bit better on the host front with Alfonso there... but not by much. I am still trying to figure out what on earth possessed Tyra to run her big mouth about Wayne's score and the Judges "not getting it right" after someone else scored the same as him. She is such a moron.. I cannot take it when she screams at me through the TV. She has so little class at times. I will forever miss Tom's delivery. I was sorry to see Smith Jarred go to be honest, he did not do THAT bad compared to like Teresa or Arnold's kid. As of now there are about 45% of the couples I would be ok with their leaving. I am hesitant on Jersey Shore Dude because I rather enjoy his partner at least. I agree with Crit, Cheryl Ladd is totally channeling some Dorian Gray action there. Woman looks amazing! I know she was an Angel but she is still going to always be Jillian Deline to me I had NO idea who Shangela was before this but man.. I LOVE her! The partnership with Gleb is a good one for them both.. in my top 5 , maybe top 3! I giggled when she was like it takes 6 hours for the full Shangela, so no drag in rehearsal. Fun and pragmatic, love her! lol Selma, she was a true delight this first night but I also agree with Crit, again, this may be as good as it gets for her. I still want her to do well and think she is amazing for even attempting this... her and Sasha together is great. No idea they are neignbours. Cheryl and Sam's story is so cute. I hope they both have a lot of fun while they are on the show. I know he is not everyone's cup of tea but I am happy to see Mark back, I love his choreography. Charli did well enough. Much better than mom.. who needs to present a bit more age appropriate IMPO, the pig tails on the top/sides of her head were a bit too sailor moon wannabe for me. Elvis next week.. meh..

I was really irritated by the way Tyra threw the production people under the bus by being sure to let us know that they made the mistake regarding Wayne, not her! Tom would never have done that! He’s secure enough in himself to be okay with people thinking he slipped up.

I was really hoping Tyra would not be on the screen this season and Alphonso seemed a really good replacement.
Tyra did a decent job hosting on America's Next Top Model, I just wish she would quit yelling, acting like she is from the hood and to be pals with everyone. It just comes across fake.
Also it is obvious that Tyra has gained weight. So what, we all have our ups and downs. Some of the best dressed ladies in my building are big and curvy, many close to 300 lbs and they look FABULOUS. Please get rid of the crazy outfits this show is not about you it is about the dancers. OK, I just realized the problem Tyra is trying to make this about her; if she dressed and talked like a class act whose job is to showcase the dancers there would not be a problem. It is as if Tyra is attempting to be a hometown comic and it is not working.

Sounds like she is even worse than last year..I remember when she hosted ANTM....it was her show and she knew the business so her being dictatorial came with the territory for the young girls trying out. She was more classy then so it was surprising that she is continuing on the path that nobody liked last year.
