Is it weird that I was "happy" to see it was from a heart condition and not corona virus? So sorry for his family and friends

I don't think so, JustJuls. I think it gives us hope that maybe it was peaceful.

Is it weird that I was "happy" to see it was from a heart condition and not corona virus? So sorry for his family and friends Not weird at all. It almost seems like it has to be included as part of any obituary these days. Earlier today I was reading a newsletter that is a trade publication for my work. It ended with a listing of people in the industry who had passed from COVID this week - five obituaries were listed. It scares me that we're going to get to a point where we just accept the stories of individual's deaths as something that happens every day. So I took time to read about each of them and do what I could to not lose sight of them being stories of real people who were lost and not just statistics.

That's so sad to hear that eight people in your industry died of COVID-19 in one week! I love that you took the time to really honor them and their lives! Regarding Bill Withers, he was such an important part of my youth! Sending love and gratitude to him and wishing peace for his family.

Breaks my heart. I was hoping he'd make it, even though it was a long shot. I think he only had one lung after a bout with cancer. I sure loved him and his craggy voice. I got to hear him sing live once in Boston back in the '80s. Here's a link to one of my favorite songs he wrote, "Angel from Montgomery." It's a live performance from last fall of him singing it with Bonnie Raitt. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaHNUYAKDn4EDITED TO ADD: I might be wrong about him having lost a lung. According to this article in Rolling Stone (which is really worth the read), he did have lung cancer back in 2013, but it sounds like he only had a small part of his lung removed. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/john-prine-obit-253684/

TMZ is reporting that Roy Horn (he of Siegfried and Roy fame) has died from Covid 19 RIP ROY. Hubby and I saw their show back in Feb 2001 and we thought it was really good. And then Roy had that heartbreaking accident. The show ended.

This is making me cry. I remember when he got attacked by the cat and when they were loading him in the ambulance he told them "Whatever you do, don't kill the cat." Such a precious man. He and Siegfried are the true Tiger Kings, not that trash from the Netflix show.
