I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest right now. This woman was such an inspiration to me, I could not be more sad. And on Rosh Hashanah. I am seriously in tears.
Rest well Ruth, know your fight for gender equality will continue.

The blood just drained right out of my face.
I am filled with both fear and sadness.
Rest with the angels, dear Lady.

She passed on Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year. I feel like I have been punched in the gut. She was fearless and a trailblazer and my heart is heavy knowing what is to come.
Rest in Heavenly Peace, Justice Ginsberg. You have earned it. Please guide us from above.

In one of the reports last night I heard it said that in Jewish tradition there are beliefs about the importance and high regard for people who die on Rosh Hashanah. I’m curious to learn more about that, but if such people are held in high regard then God called her home on the right day.
Such accolades may be overused but in the case of Justice Ginsberg it is true that she is the wind beneath the wings of the generations of women who came behind her. She lifted us all up - we have choices and voices because of her.

When I saw the news last night my heart just dropped. I knew she was fighting it up until the end. And they won't wait. 2020 really sucks, 2021 better be an improvement.
Rest in power, Justice Ginsberg.

I still tear up reading stories about her and her passing.

She really was tiny! I watched the RGB movie today, and it was amazing to see how driven she was. Her husband literally had to remind her stop working and eat or sleep. He was such a wonderful support and compliment to her. What a wonderful union theirs was.

To get past being dismissed as a voice in law school for being a woman, then graduating as a top attorney and not getting hired ... and to use that for inspiration instead of excuses was fantastic. l’ve used the scene from that movie with the class discussion where the professor keeps ignoring so many times to explain what women go through!

Agree with you Libgirl - even though we knew he'd been fighting cancer for some time, and doing so incredibly well, this still hits hard. It's like we'd accepted so many times that his time may be limited when he overcame it that it's a shock that he couldn't continue doing that.
