This makes me so sad. He's the reason I learned to play guitar back in the 80's. RIP, Eddie.

I hadn't realized he had been ill. Such a big, larger than life, talent. RIP He's had cancer for a while. It went into remission; I guess it came back.
RIP, Eddie. I hope his family and Valerie and Wolf are okay.

It's so sweet that she still had such a loving relationship with him even after they had both remarried and moved on from their divorce!

Heartbreaking. What Wolfie wrote made me ugly cry for a moment. So sad. Rest in peace, Eddie. You were one of the greats.

I love that, at least from what we see publicly, Wolfie was able to live knowing his parents cared about each other and remembered what brought them together to bring him into this world even after they were divorced. The fact they are divorced shows that there were problems in their relationship. But they resisted talking about those problems too much, and managed to see the good in each other to still have a strong co-parenting relationship. I applaud them for that.
Also want to add my appreciation for Johnny Nash in his passing. I Can See Clearly Now was the #1 song when I was born, and I've always taken pride in that. I"m grateful that he was a source of optimism and positivity in my life!

It's hard for me to fathom why memorials for legendary singers, or any individuals for that matter, often devolve into speculation about their prior relationships based on how their grieving partner(s) react.

The tributes by both Wolfie and Valerie had me, just had me. I had a good friend back in my early 20s that LOVED Eddie and Van Halen.. I took her to her first VH concert and ever March 16th I would wish her Happy 316 (Wolifie's Bday) it was just our thing.. I even got her a 'rare' Van Hagar Album one year for her birthday.. I felt so bad when I sent her a msg saying I was sorry yesterday.. I was the one the broke the news to her (she had not seen it yet as it was only like 6 min after it was posted)... As she said 'we will always have those concerts.' 2020 is just gutting me with everything and from Neil Peart on down RBG and now to Eddie this week it has just been an awful year and we still have 3 months left. OY!

Because that's the aspect of their lives that the public knew about and can relate to. I disagree. I'm familiar with his work... but am much less familiar with his personal life as all we can go on is what we read or hear. But my point was about grieving and how everyone grieves differently and there's no right or wrong way, no time frame to do it within, etc etc. My opinion of Valerie is that she's a sweetheart and I think they looked like sister and brother back in the day. Their feather dark hairstyles, gosh they were cute together.

Conchata Ferrell Dies: Former ‘Two and a Half Men’ Co-Star Was 77 She was a great, funny screen and stage actress. I didn't watch Two and a Half Men all that much, but I'm glad she eventually found that A-list level of success in her long career. I remember her from LA Law, Hot L Baltimore, and the films Network, Mystic Pizza, and Edward Scissorhands. Plus dozens of guest appearances.

2020 has been a tough year for folks in the Baseball Hall Of Fame. We have lost Al Kaline, Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock & now Joe Morgan. I reckon there is a heck of a pickup game going on way out yonder. RIP guys, you brought me a lot of joy growing up!

Another one of the old-time Hollywood greats has died. She was such a beauty and apparently I good person, too. I didn't realize she'd been so involved in volunteerism and philanthropy. I'm especially impressed by her work with the homeless. Golden Age actress Rhonda Fleming has died at 97

The Amazing Randi, the magician who made a career out of debunking supernatural phenomena has died at 92. He certainly aged into an interesting looking guy. I hadn't seen him for years, and I just have to say that the picture in this article is fantastic. www.nytimes.com/2020/10/21/obituaries/james-randi-dead.html
