Henry ("Hank") Aaron is now playing baseball with Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and a bunch of other great athletes. He passed away this morning at the age of 86. I'm surprised he was only 86. I remember him from when I was a kid & my older brother collected baseball cards & we watched a lot of games (on TV). He must have been pretty young when he started MLB. RIP Henry (Hank). One of the very top greats in baseball. What a baseball legend! RIP, Hank.

I remember her as Phyllis on The Mary Tyler Moore Show but my most favorite role of hers was in Young Frankenstein. May she rest in peace.

Cloris was wonderful in so many things. Her competing on Dancing With the Stars will always hold a special place in my heart. She was on about a year after my grandmother died. My grandmother had her own kind of irreverent “I’ve never done this, let’s try” way about her. The attitude and joy that Cloris put into DWTS reminded me so much of that side of my grandmother that in that window of time I felt like I had a piece of her back. I hope that her loved ones who are really feeling her loss benefit from reminders in the future like Cloris gave to me.

Wow! I had no idea that she was 96 already! What an amazing woman! So talented! May she rest in peace! Me neither. Both Cicely Tyson and Cloris Leachman were examples of excellent actresses, as well as very attractive women who used their talent rather than their looks to attain their fame. Many of their roles were plain or even unattractive women who could have been played by anyone, but they often hid their glamor to play good roles. I can't help but compare them to so many modern actresses & actors who trade on their looks & chose roles accordingly.

I hate to say it, but I prefer her version of Mother Abigail in The Stand...just the right amount of the ethereal.

Never watched this show and I know Dustin had had his share of troubles as an adult but still, 44 is too young to die. RIP

Dustin Diamond's whole story is so sad. He definitely seemed to have a lot of demons. I remember when he was on Celebrity Fit Club years ago an was SO angry. IIRC, he may have been asked to leave because of repeated outbursts at other contestants and the hosts. I imagine it must be hard to be so famous as a kid actor only to have that not translate as an adult. Although none of his former co-stars went on to super stardom, a fair number of them have nice careers. That had to be hard to watch. As (I think) his manager said, while he seemed to go so quickly, his loved ones are grateful that he didn't suffer a long illness. From what I've heard, after he lost his house a few years back and was arrested for assault, he did end up moving to be with family and had been living peacefully and was happier in recent years. I hope that's true.

Well, I blew that one, as usual. I was sure it was her, but the movie wasn't listed in her bio. Should have been a clue.

Around 50 years ago, when I was in college, I got to see his live show. The girl I went with had some kind of connection to him, so we got to go back stage and meet with him. He was so gracious and kind to spend a few minutes with us when I'm sure he just wanted to get out of his makeup, eat some dinner, and hit his hotel room! What a talented and lovely man!

So many people from my childhood and youth have died recently! I guess that's bound to happen when you're almost 70. Still, it's hard to lose the ones who made such an impact. Sending love and thanks to Christopher Plummer for the many hours of joy he brought!

What talent! It's really too bad that Karoli didn't advocate for her so that she could heal from her injury and go to the Worlds and Olympics.
