This is so sad. ZZ Top just played in my hometown on the 25th. I'm not sure if Dusty Hill was there but it was still shocking. RIP.

Someone get protective details on Marsha Warfield and John Larroquette. We can't lose any more Night Court alums
Markie did some kind of fluffy Hallmark-type projects in recent years, but she was excellent as Sophia Bush's mother in Chicago PD.

Not many outside the art world or the Bay Area will have heard of her, but I am heartbroken over the death of painter Hung Liu last night. She was one of my favorite artists - I have two prints of her work framed in my house - and I was looking forward to seeing a little exhibition of her work in SF this summer and trying to figure out how I would be able to afford the $50 catalog of her work. Her husband, who announced her passing on his Facebook, did not give any details, but based on the reactions it sounds like it was a shock for everyone. She was only 71 and had so much left to do. There's a huge exhibition of her work set to open at the National Portrait Gallery in DC. If any of you are in that area, do yourself a favor and go see it. I wish I could.
Here's a little video from the SF PBS station a while back. It shows some of her work and her process. I cried through the whole thing. This is such a loss
When I heard the news this morning, I placed my hand on this piece and said a little prayer for her. I'm just heartbroken.

Wow! She had a good, long life! She was definitely a part of all of ours (who are of a certain age). May she rest in peace!

I was about 9 or 10 when I first saw her in a movie on TV. I remember I stopped and stared and wondered, "Who is that? She is good." RIP Jane Withers

Don Everly of the Everly Brothers passed away yesterday. He was 84. Now he doesn't have to worry, he can Wake Up Little Susie or not. RIP Don. Your harmonies were incredible, even if you two brothers didn't necessarily get along.

Love the Everly Brothers! Harmonies in the Great Beyond just got a little tighter. Once again more of a junior high rather than high school memory. RIP Don.

Your harmonies were incredible, even if you two brothers didn't necessarily get along. What? Oh. They were way before mty time. However, my patrents were quite the record collectors. There albums are many I rifled through as a child-they were just ...their harmonies. Definitkley influenced this 80's kid in her path to being a musician. I've been so busy I'm oit of the loop and for some reason this shocked me.

Beautiful print, Critical. Her work feels very much like traditional meets the etheral. I do wish artists of mediums other than tv movies and stage recieved the same level of aqppreciation from this country. Many years ago Jimmy Carter talked about the need to fund these arts from cradle onwards.

Ed Asner has passed at the age of 91. Thank you sir, for all the laughs. RIP When Gavin McLeod died earlier this year, it seemed like the aging loneliness of seeing all your friends die was really getting to Ed. Sad to lose him - but that sorrow comes with the hopefulness of knowing he's been reunited with so many he loved and lost before him.
