Jim Seals of Seals & Crofts fame has departed at the age of 80. He flies away with the Hummingbird. RIPJim. The 70s had some great music. I'm sure I must have one of their LPs in my collection. "Summer Breeze", "We May Never Pass this Way Again", and "Diamond Girl" were some of their big hits. So many great soft rock bands of that era - a wonderful time musically, to grow up. RIP sir. I saw Seals & Crofts at the California Jam on April 6, 1974. It was Rare Earth, Earth Wind & Fire, Seals & Crofts, The Eagles, Black Oak Arkansas, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple & Emerson Lake & Palmer. All for the low low price of $10.
Not there is a diverse set of artists for you.

I'm jealous! That sounds like a damn good concert. Especially for ten whole bucks.

"General Hospital Stars Jack and Kristina Wagner's Son Harrison, 27, Found Dead." I never watched General Hospital but I know of Jack Wagner from many other TV shows, including Melrose Place and his Hallmark movies. I'm not familiar with his ex-wife and don't know what name she used prior to marrying Jack. I'm sorry to hear of their son's passing at such a young age. So horrible to bury a child. May he rest in peace. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/general-hospital-stars-jack-kristina-230012603.htmlI remember when she first came on GH which is where they met. I believe her last name was Maldonado. Very sad.

I'm jealous! That sounds like a damn good concert. Especially for ten whole bucks. There were over 250,000 of us there. It was at the Ontario Motor Speedway just outside of San Bernardino. I do believe it was the first festival of its kind to actually show a profit. It was broadcast on ABC. And it is all on YouTube broken up by each group. Keith Emerson had a pole running through his grand piano and he was strapped onto his bench. He was lifted into the air and spun over & over again and he never missed a beat. I highly recommend watching the thing on a piecemeal basis if anyone is interested. Just search fans of California Jam.

I believe her last name was Maldonado. Very sad. Her last name was Malandro. I'm a GH nerd I'm surprised that her career didn't go farther than it did. She's a terrific actress. She did a scene years ago that can still make me cry if I think about it. For those who watched the show back then, it was the scene when she finds out that Maxie is getting BJ's heart. I'm literally misting up thinking about it.
Kristina and Jack were sort of a golden couple on GH. I remember when Harrison was born. I'm so sad for both of them and the whole family. Loving someone with substance abuse (and it sounds like that was the issue here) is like watching your loved one walk on train tracks, seeing a train coming and being powerless to stop it

That was one of the saddest, most heart breaking scenes in all of soap opera history! I still start to cry whenever I picture it in my mind. I say all the time that the story with BJ's heart, particularly when Felicia is so happy that Maxie has a heart donor only to find out where the heart is coming from, is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen on TV

Whenever I think of him, I think of the scene with him and Kathy Bates in Misery. She was going to be SURE he didn't escape. RIP.

Those of you that are old enough to remember the show FTroup will recall Larry Storch. He played Corporal Agarn. He passed away today at the age of 99.

Tony Sirico, Paulie Walnuts of the Sopranos fame, also died today.
I didn't realize Larry Storch was still alive and 99!
Add James Caan, may all three rest in peace.

Actor Paul Sorvino has died at 83. Aw, I really enjoyed his work. "Most people think I’m either a gangster or a cop or something,” he said. “The reality is I’m a sculptor, a painter, a best-selling author, many, many things — a poet, an opera singer, but none of them is gangster.... It would be nice to have my legacy more than that of just tough guy.” Yes, he truly was a talented man. RIP sir. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/goodfellas-law-order-actor-paul-182045340.html

I think most Americans remember him as Jack the Ripper in Time After Time or Tron. Both gentlemen had amazing careers and were so talented.

Rest in Peace, Paul
When did David Warner pass? He was also Cal's bodyguard in Titanic. My favorite role of his was Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, the George C. Scott one. Of course, I am a Christmas Carol fanatic so that makes sense. Rest In Peace, sir.

Ahhh...my first TV crush. Besides being cute, his character was nice - a good foil for Eddie Haskell.

Well, it looks like Tony Dow passed for real today. MSN's home page has a link to a very nice article about him. What a shame that false report had to happen yesterday. Bottom line: He's at peace now. Good Bye, Tony. We enjoyed having you in our lives. There was a comment made in the article saying that Leave It To Beaver & other 50's sitcoms were idealized & unreal versions of family life at that time. I call Bullsh**! I grew up in the 50's, 60's & early 70's. My home life was just like those shows. They were very real to me. I've often described my upbringing as just like a 50's or 60's sitcom. The family got along. My parents got along, we did things together, and nothing bad happened that couldn't be resolved by the end of the weekly episode. No drinking, smoking, foul language, minimal yelling. It was very wholesome & I thought "normal". I realized later in life that I was very very lucky. But those shows were very real to me.

I am so happy that there WERE real families like the Cleavers. Ours was nothing like that, but the shows were complete escapism for me. For 1/2 hour every week, I saw what happy families looked like, and it gave me an ideal to pursue. And I had SUCH a crush on Tony Dow!
