It sounds like we'll be hearing of Aretha Franklin's passing any time now. TMZ is reporting that her family has been told she doesn't have much longer. Apparently, the cancer has just ravaged her body. She's down to around 85 lbs

It's sad when anyone passes, but especially when the person is a living legend. You made your mark, Aretha, and you will be fondly remembered!

I was reading about her last night & somehow knew that when I woke up today she'd be gone. I always like to look at as: The suffering is over for her. She's at peace & pain free now. It surprised me that she was only 76. She had been around, singing, and famous for it, for as long as I can remember. RIP Aretha. You had a great run & definitely left your mark.

I've been watching You Tube videos all day of Ms. Aretha. I'm just so sad she is gone. This amazing performance was at the Kennedy Center Honors a few years back. One of the honorees was Carole King. I was a huge Carole King fan growing up and was so happy when she received the Kennedy Honor. The sheer joy Carole is emoting as the legendary Aretha sings Natural Woman was contagious and emotional. It made me alternately smile and cry, then and now. What a powerful performance from a woman like no other! She sings with the angels now. May you rest in peace, Ms. Aretha Franklin.

ED King one of the original guitar players in Lynyrd Skynyrd has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He had also had a heart transplant a few years back. Some of you may remember a group called Strawberry Alarm Clock & their big hit Incense & Peppermints, Ed was a part of that way back in 1967.

Talk about an iconic voice! I can still hear him waxing rhapsodic about Adnan Khashoggi's lapis lazuli table! I'm surprised he was only 76. I thought he was a good deal older.

Wow! Neil Simon wrote so many good things. Many thanks to him for some enjoyable times!
That's two real giants that have passed in the last 24 hours. I'm hoping they don't come in threes this time.

There have been three...Robin Leach, John McCain and Neil Simon, as well as Aretha Franklin recently.
The Fine Arts Department of Heaven must be exalted.

Yes indeed, and they all will be greatly missed. But for me, John McCain and Neil Simon most of all. John McCain was a true hero, literally and figuratively. A very, very brave and good man. And Neil Simon had a unique genius for storytelling. He was also a very special man. RIP to them all.

John McCain was an adorable man. He devoted his life to service and held strong in his beliefs. I hope this week's services will reinforce to his family just how much he was respected.
Back to Edit - I did not write adorable, that must have been the ole spellchecker! I meant for it to say admirable!

Oh my! That was fast. Rip, John. Sent from my SAMSUNG-S7 using Tapatalk My dad just passed from the same kind of tumor. He was only a couple of years younger than him but only lived less than 4 months after diagnosis. They just caught it too late. We tried surgery but it had spread. He was not able to withstand chemo and radiation. When I heard John McCain had passed 2 weeks to the day my dad did, I just cried. I can't even imagine knowing you aren't going to live......
