The Amazing Race of Arabia - Teams travel to Jordan, where they ride a train and experience a scene reminiscent of the 1963 film "Lawrence of Arabia, " search the Wadi Rum desert and visit the ancient city of Petra.
Enjoy the show!

Wow! Claire and Derek moved up so quickly! 8th to 6th at the challenge, and 1st by the time they got to the clue box. How'd they do that??

I wish the twins had gone for the puzzle detour instead of the physical challenge hauling water and hay. I knew Claire would solve the puzzle quickly. So sad for father searching for Petra sign. Go Derek and Claire!

I’m not rooting for Luis and Michelle, but I have no idea why?

Everyone looks at the camel challenge and says, nope, we will do the puzzle. Em and Molly are team #5. Hope her leg is alright.

Glen and Lum are on their way and oh no, father/daughter choose the physical challenge! Well, she got what she wished for, they can’t complete this and still be in the race. (I think). This will be so hard for both of them. Why didn’t they choose the puzzle? It’s so hot there!

Linton and Sharik versus the dancers looking for the pit stop. Aubrey and David are 8 and still in the race. Linton and Sharik are eliminated.

Oh no! Previews show that someone receives a positive Covid test! I wonder if they are not able to continue?? Maybe next week elimination is due to Covid?

Well, Sharik got her wish. Bye! Her dad wanted to give her a hug, and she said no. I would love a hug from my father. Hard to believe she was a cheerleader.
Next week Covid rears its ugly head, will someone go home.?
The kingdom of Jordan, a first, how lucky are these racers.

It is hot here tonight, but the Wadi desert must have been broiling. Good on everyone for surviving the heat and the sliding puzzle.

So glad to see Sharik gone.
I too am surprised to hear she was in competitive cheer and did other sports. Does not seem the type as competitive cheer is about working together as partners, having a positive attitude, and to keep on going even if you miss a trick or cheer you never quit.
With the COVID scare next week wonder if they will bring back Sharik and her father?
Hope the twins are OK.

Great episode. Now that father/daughter are eliminated, good attitude teams aplenty left! I love that. I love seeing people get along in adversity, way more entertaining than annoying unkindness.

My first thought was that Phil was receiving his own test result; not a contestant.

I'm sad for Linton, but happy I don't have to watch his daughter and her stank attitude any more. Glad for Derek and Claire (hope her knee is okay) and hopefully the one twin didn't hurt her leg too badly.
I metal detect as a hobby so I would have been ecstatic to get to do that there!

I noticed that Claire appeared to have a bloody knee during one of the interviews, I wondered what happened then they ran for Phil. That looked painful. I am sure she will be fine, though.

Some were going so slow, then there was the running and fast sweeping method. I wondered if there was some "best practice" for detecting? Once they saw how big the metal piece was, I'd think they could go faster since they weren't looking for a tiny coin.

I too would love to hear more about metal detecting!
I felt that the daughter threw the challenge so that she could go home, picking the challenge as well as telling him, 'trust me, it's three bags'. When it was four. Linton calling her his princess reminded me of Willy Wonka.

Yeah, that metal plate was so big, all they had to do was keep the coil close to the sand and sweep fast. The machine would scream at them when they got close. Tiny coins, rings and other small goodies you'd want to go a bit slower and listen for a smaller chirp from the machine...

Me three! It wouldn't be much of a challenge if only big pieces were out there would it? They must have buried some stuff to delay them. We don't see all of the footage, so I'm guessing even the earlier teams found and checked smaller items. The first teams were also uncertain what they were looking for. I don't know if it was smart of Derek to just run out further or not. He figured that all of the footprints showed the area that had been searched (even if not thoroughly), and maybe just got lucky with his area. But he was in and out pretty fast I think. We see edited versions, and the parts that are deemed most entertaining are shown. So, who knows?
Is it Wednesday yet?

Sad to think but with the way the winds blow it is more likely people drinking and just throwing it out on the sand or the wind blew in it. I remember the first seasons of Alone and Naked and Alive the contestants are dropped of in wild isolated areas and it is amazing how much plastic and fishing debris and other metal parts they find. So yes I believe that the cans were trash thrown out of a SUV or off a camel.
