Step by Step - A shocking elimination takes place while teams continue their Jordanian journey; teams take part in a traditional folk dance and learn the Arabic alphabet.
Enjoy the show!

Will and Abby the childhood sweethearts are eliminated because they tested positive for covid. There will be no elimination at the end of the leg as this will be the elimination for the episode but placement will be useful for how the next leg starts.

One of the twins has injured her leg in Italy and they can't dance so are doing the alphabet. Apparently the Arabic alphabet is similar to the Hebrew alphabet which they both learned since they were raised in the Jewish faith.

Very interesting. That alphabet seems difficult to learn, but then again, so does the dance.

Why doesn’t Derek let Claire do the ones he can’t? The twins decided to do the alphabet together, the Mil Bros each learned half. Forget that, Claire taught him to roll the r’s and they did it.

Glenda and Lum are having a tough time dancing. You know I thought that dance would be the easier challenge, than learning the alphabet, but, I’m realizing that is not necessarily true.

The army guys said that when they first read the clue they also thought they had to do it together, but then realized they could split it since one of them had problems with pronouncing one of the letters

Claire saying “good for them, I just wish it were me”, (Luis/Michelle) shows how nice they are. Not bitter or jealous, they are still my favorite couple!

I just booked a trip to Egypt and was debating about adding on a side trip to Jordan at the end. Watching this now, I wish I had.

Wow, Luis and Michelle win back-to-back legs. They get to leave in the first group.
Military guys falling behind in this one, even though they got there ahead of most teams! Emily and Molly didn't do so well this time either.
Derek and Claire (<-who shouldn't have had to do this challenge, IMO) come in 4th.

Claire and Derek and the twins are my favorite teams. I also really like the newlyweds and military guys and the team that had to leave due to Covid..

I’m sorry that Glenda and Lum arrived last, but I am hoping they do well on the next leg!

Yes, but 3rd and 4th teams depart in second group next time, so that isn’t so bad. I know the twins are dealing with a handicap physical challenge, but hopefully….the next leg will allow her quad to heal. I have faith that they will still go far.

I honestly like all these teams. They don't seem to whine like a couple of previous teams, now gone. I love the married couple. Claire gets the 'put this together' challenges, she does more than Derek.

I honestly like all these teams. ME TOO! Even the couple that was eliminated due to COVID test positive. It's so nice to be able to root for everyone and panic for anyone in last. I am not a fan of the team "ou love to hate." Not a fan of being annoyed by people and I don't love it. I already like Glenda and Lum but them dancing and being so positive, I fell in love with them a little bit and they are in my top 3 to root for (with Claire/Derek and the twins) but really the Military guys are everyone else is really up there as well. Great season for me! Already can't wait for next week!

I like all the teams left. Interesting that they let them all start the same time this week, even with the elimination they took away the advantage for those that finished in the top places last time. I liked Abby & Will so sad to see them eliminated for that reason.
Are Derek and Claire just picking road blocks based on whose turn it is? While ideally you want to have them even so one person isn't stuck at the end, you still should try to figure out who would be better suited for the challenge. I did love how happy the other teams were that Emily wasn't doing that challenge!
It was cute when Molly said she would save all her building projects for when Emily visited and Emily said she would love that. (I think I have the names correct.)
Good for the brothers to reread the clue and figure out they didn't both need to say the alphabet. Derek and Claire could have finished sooner if they had done the same.

Except Derek would still need to roll his rrrs. I loved the method Claire used - gurgling - to show him how it is done. I can't roll my rrrs, either, but now I know a method that might work if I needed to do so.

I liked the "Plan B" that the TAR producers put in place in case there was an issue with COVID.
Lov'ed that how Lumumba talked so sweetly to his wife to calm her down and to cheer her up. In a race like this the pressure gets to you and you need to calm down and just focus on what you are doing and not on what others are doing.
Enjoyed the episode and the players.

I liked that both the Military Guys and Twins kept their heads and kept cool and just did the job. It was remarkable that they basically stayed to together through this episode. The biggest problem is dealing with a city that is 9,000 years old and I am sure the streets make no sense and meander all over the place and the other big issue is that the street signs are in a totally different alphabet and no one knows how to read them.

I loved that part too!!! It really moved me, it was so good, so genuine. I also loved how he asked her 'what do you need from me?' SUCH a good and healthy couple. I just love them. But like most on this thread, I love all the teams. Wild that the twins were both adopted by Jewish families. Also, I have pulled a muscle (or strained it) and it is painful. She mist be in a lot of pain, yet she is soldiering on. I hope the couple who got Covid return on another season.
