I didn't mind Emily in the Australia version, but I can't stand her this time around.
Lol at Jordan grabbing the wrong puzzle piece, and good for Kaz forcing him to admit that he actually made a mistake! I was hopeful that Kiki and Darrell having one less puzzle piece to fetch would keep them out of the bottom...dang it!

Season 1 Episode 11 - "Weight Of The World" - May 10, 2023
F**king Sarah can't win a daily challenge without everyone letting her and then having to help. Pathetic.
No, I don't care that you have to make a decision to send Emily or Danny into an Elimination. Poor Sarah it is hard. F You and your sanctimonious attitude. I hope you hurt. I hope you cry. Boo Hoo!
F**k Emily ... I hope you hurt. I hope you cry. Boo Hoo! The beauty of it is you did it to yourself. If you had worked with Troy and Kiki instead of being jealous and mean spirited there was a possibility that all three Australian teams would have been in the final.
I don't even like Kaycee mainly as I don't know who she is, but I was yelling at both and Troy and Kaycee to win...somewhat along the lines of F Emily, Destroy Her!

Bye bye Emily! I'm not a Kaycee fan at all, but I do kinda like Troy.
Tori cheering so hard for Kaycee seemed weird to me at first. I get they're allies here, but I didn't know they were that tight. (And really, Troy and Kaycee together are a strong team, so why would you want to go into the finale with them?)
Bring on the final!

Season 1 Episode 12 - "World Domination" - May 17, 2023
Most UNDERWHELMING final ever.
In my humble opinion Kaycee lost the final for Troy.
I do believe if Amber had stayed in the game Troy and Amber would have won.
Hate to say but Nany is better at finals than Kaycee.
This is two finals I have seen Kaycee in and I have not been impressed with her performance.
The season started SO WELL and ended up this mess.
Not even that thrilled that Theo rolled his ankle and he was medicinally DQ'ed.
Sarah and Theo were in last place from the beginning and stayed there until they left the game.
Danny didn't do that well either. Not impressed with his performance.

Thoughts:
If this was an individual final it would have a been a race between Troy and Jordan with Danny third and Theo last.
For the ladies it would have been a first for Tori, maybe a race between Tori and Kaz with Kaycee third and Sarah last.

Yes this was such an underwhelming final. They ended this season with a yawn. They tried to be all mysterious and creepy with the train, but the actual challenges in the finale were a snooze fest.
Agreed that Troy and Amber would have won, had she stayed in the game. Kaycee completely lost it for Troy. And he must be the most patient, kind partner ever. We never saw him get frustrated or upset with her and her performance. I thought Kaycee would perk up some after getting the IV, but once she started going down that was it.
Jordan had the most positive let's go attitude throughout the final.
I was not sad to see Sarah and Theo leave early.

I'm catching up on the last two Challenge podcasts for this season, and just listened to last week's episode with Sarah. While she annoyed me the entire season (I am not a fan), she did have some interesting things to say about money that is shared between contestants and how that effects the game.
It sounds like in the earlier seasons, 2nd and 3rd place finalists also won money, in addition to the first place grand prize. The more recent seasons tend not to do that. According to Aneesa, this is why contestants who've been around longer started sharing money with other finalists.
Sarah talked about how some of the alliances are "bought and paid for," using the example of Kaycee giving $50,000 to Tori in the recent past, so now Tori won't throw Kaycee into any challenges. They are now solid alliance members apparently forevermore.
While I'm not a Sarah fan, I do now appreciate Sarah's attempts to work against the vets and stir things up. The $ sharing definitely has an impact on who joins up in alliances and who gets thrown into challenges at various points in the game. Plus the show has been on so long now, with so many "regular" cast members returning, there are strong relationships between many of them outside of the show.
Anyways, interesting to hear from Sarah on the podcast.

The last podcast of the season was an interview with Kaz. Dang that woman can talk FAST!! I felt like I was listening to a podcast on double speed until she occasionally took a breath and Aneesa/Devyn would chime in with a question or a comment, speaking much much slower lol. Of note, the hall brawl with Sarah/Yes and Kaycee/Troy didn’t last very long. It was over quickly. And the hall was wider than has been seen at least some of the time. There was room to maneuver around each other. And apparently the biking part of the finale lasted much longer than we saw. Kaz said she hadn’t ridden a bike for many years, and the trail was tough, narrow with lots of sharp turns. She was so proud of herself doing well with it and was looking forward to watching it back when the episode aired….and instead it was just a short little blip of the finale She seems full of energy and is probably fun to be around - sounds like she got along with most everybody. She wants to return to do another season, so we’re likely to see her again.

Anyways, interesting to hear from Sarah on the podcast. Have to listen to this again. Sharing of the prize money goes all the way back to Battle of the Seasons. I figure nowadays you get paid an appearance fee of at least $20,000 and since you are an actor you get scale for each day you are on set. I don't like that the final prize is a winner take it all and that there should be prizes for second and third even if it is only $50,000 and $35,000 each and that you have to finish the finale to get the money.

I will admit I was very disappointed with the final, it was a huge let down for me especially after that brilliant Hall Brawl. Day One was OK but Day Two seemed rushed and over in 5 minutes and I was "like that was it". I liked the format of the Season 38 final with the multiple legs and puzzles or tasks or math. I especially liked the UK and Australian versions of the season 38 final and that each leg was timed and that you switched partners and the people with the best overall times won. I would rather see a 4, 5 or even 6 team final with multiple legs and partner switching as communication with your partner is a critical skill on The Challenge. It's fun, it's nerve racking. I don't even mind if the last leg or so is a solo game.

Just finished watching Angelcake Entertainment's interview with Danny McCray www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kJLHJ73GEM. As previously posted I was very disappointed with the final. It was not the payoff I expected as a fan and as a viewer and after having watched some decent gameplay on the season. Danny has stated on Twitter about 30% of the final was not shown. There was a 10 mile leg involving hills, a waterfall, swimming, and a puzzle before the Loops of Hell portion. On the over night the reason all the Challengers stayed awake is if your partner fell asleep you had to eat two Carolina Reapers (hot peppers) and no one wanted that. Sarah was sick on the overnight portion and slept in the bathroom as she had to go every 30 minutes. Sarah was also sick and had to stop every 20 minutes or so to go to the bathroom in the bushes when she was running with Theo. On day two there was a canoe leg, another swim and trivia puzzle. Troy helped them with the slider puzzle. Tori said to stop as it was not fair and then Jordan stopped by and it was OK for him to help Tori do the slider. Oh, Danny said his first pick was Jonna but Grant got her first. Danny and Jonna would have been a powerhouse together. Great interview. Danny also did a similar interview on the Challenge Mania podcast.

Danny McCray also made comments about his strategy vs the Vets.
Also Bananas said he was not working with anyone that he was lying low in the middle. However every time it came to a vote Danny is finding out that Bananas is working with Wes with KellyAnne with whomever making it very difficult to vote anyone in.
Danny looks at it as if he is not guarantied a call back. The Vets assume they will be called back season after season. Danny and many of the MVPs are looking at it as if this is their one shot at the money. Nelson is a prime example of having an accident (car injury) and it potentially ended his challenge career. As we fans know not everyone gets called back. Some only for a few episodes and some for one. Look at Spies Lies and Allies, who of any of those potential new players have we seen again? Emmy and her countryman were supposed to be back but she sang the N word on a rap song and got canceled. So it made sense to try to play hard and make big moves to try to win the big money. BTW Tori was telling Danny to throw some challenges thinking Devin might be called into the game.
Danny pointed out that in the last 10 seasons of the challenge from 28 to 38 the friends strategy has greatly benefited three male players who have dominated the seasons. Bananas - 2 wins, CT - 4 wins, Jordan - 2 wins. There are one offs with Rogan who was on CT Team, Turbo, and Devin.
Unless the friends alliance strategy changes the Young Bucks will always be wannabees ... Cory and Nelson are you listening?
Lets face it the women who ran with the winning men benefited. Amber and Kaycee can thank CT as Tori can thank Devin.

If you think about it really wasn't that hard a final regarding the competition. You have Team Sarah & Theo, one person with constant diarrhea and one who rolled their ankle and could barely walk. You have Team Troy & Kaycee who was sick and could barely walk and was held up by Troy. Then you have Team Danny & Tori who basically wanted Jordan to win. Then you have Team Jordan & Kaz, both healthy, both wanted to win. It is as if the win was given to them.

I would have liked to see Yes on more challenges over the years. He is a solid competitor and seems like a standup person. Was he busy with other things in his life going on? Or wasn't he asked to be on other seasons until the all stars?

I would have liked to see Yes on more challenges over the years. He is a solid competitor and seems like a standup person. Was he busy with other things in his life going on? Or wasn't he asked to be on other seasons until the all stars? Yes was on the third season of the Challenge called Challenge 2000 which aired in 2000. Yes was 23 at the time and trained as an architect. Careers in reality TV were not a thing back in 2000. Most folks used The Real World as a gap year experience and interesting thing to do after finishing school before getting a job in the real world. Yes was on Battle of the Seasons in 2002. Then All Stars 1 in 2021 almost 20 years later, which he won at age 43. Can't believe Yes is 45 years old he looks fantastic. It wasn't until Johnny Bananas and then Cara Maria who looked at the Challenge as a job and had multiple appearances do you see people talking about Bananas and Cara treating it as their job, their paycheck do you see folks making The Challenge a career. Cara was introduced on Fresh Meat 2 (2010) and Bananas on Key West The Real World in (2006). I do think it is fantastic that Yes kept up his physical abilities after leaving school, getting married, having kids, and having a life and career outside of the game.
