Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 1 - "You Wanna Win Or Knot?" - 14 November 2022
OMG it is the same location and house as Challenge 38: Ride of Die.
Wow, the cast has personality.
First fight over a bed.
First Challenge straight from the Challenge: USA. However since the pairs have to compete together there is a lot of grumbling about weak partners.
A verbal fight at the bar, Yes this is the drama I have been missing.
The prize money is AUS $200,000 and is $137,620 in US dollars.
Ciarran and Audrey just hooked up in the shower and both are in committed relationships back home, both admitted it in the confessionals
Cast is split into male and female teams. They do the daily challenge as a team and the elimination as a team. From the trailer it looks as if daily challenges and eliminations are also being used in the Challenge: USA and Challenge 38 Ride or Die.
Overall enjoyed it. Did not now any of the cast but there were strong personalities that bumped heads immediately Hurricane Cyrell went off on two cast members.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 2 - "Mother Truckers" - 15 November 2022
Jessica sleeps with Johnny and both regret it the next morning, with Jessica discussing it with Connor. Hey, Jessica here is a hint "don't expect anything from guys you just met and let into your bed 5 minutes later".
After the Daily Challenge during the bar visit David starts a rumor that Connor was bragging on the bus ride home from the daily challenge. David does not want to be sent into elimination with his partner Emily so he wants the focus on someone else. During the interrogation with Jack & Aubrey, Jack brings up the fact that Connor has been boasting to everyone that he is safe. Jessica feels that maybe Connor was using her.
Troy and Jessica pick David & Emily, Jessica says the rumors about Connor don't sound like the person she knows. For all of his hard work spreading rumors, David end up in elimination with Emily.
The elimination looks like it may be a total blowout as Jack takes forever to build the brick stack and Emily has hit at least 5 out of 10 targets.
OMG Jack catches up and both teams have hit 9 out of 10 targets.
Emily & David win, but it was very close.
Wow, the preview for episode 3 shows David being nasty. He uses words as very sharp, hurtful weapons.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 3 - "Rock-N-Bola" - 21 November 2022
Emily gloated that David & Jessica got last place and are going into Elimination. But isn't David part of your alliance and a friend?
Cyrell is thrilled she won and now can have her revenge. She is so gleeful about it.
The host hoses the players and they in turn toss them into the mud pit.
Lots of discussion as to who to throw in Grant & Kiki or Konrad Brooke B because she seems so miserable being in the house.
Each player was given a word and must spell it backward. Kiki is the only one who can't do it and her team is given 6 extra tyres. However Grant & Kiki are taking 3 tires at a time and catch up and finish building their stack with David & Jessica having at least 6 tyres left on the original stakes and their newly stacked pile of tyres falls down and they are done. Grant threatens to target Cyrell now that he is back and she tells him "come on".

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 4 - "Whine Barrels" - 22 November 2022
There are two main alliances in the house:
1. Bedroom Alliance: Grant + Ryan + Johnny + Sugar + Emily
2. Bacchie Group or Bachelor Alliance: Megan + Konrad + Kiki + Brittany + Ciarran
other subsets: Troy+Marley Connor+Ciarran+Konrad
All the teams did well in the wine barrel race it was exciting and close.
Like all the big personalities, everyone is getting screen time, the girls are not dressing like total "hos", lots of good confessionals, it's pretty even with not one person dominating, everyone is strategizing.
Like the elimination, because you need to think, use your memory, and NOT panic.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 5 - "A Wonderful Bachy Holiday" - 28 November 2022"
Connor reminds me of Devin in the flagship series, well David even more so. But Connor is an example of a player not in the best of shape, but can connect with other players, and is smart, and can do puzzles, and does not panic under the pressure of a daily or elimination.
I really like this cast, partly because the majority have real jobs and careers and are not trying to be Reality TV stars, or live on their social media, or be influencers. They are real people and it shows.
There is real tension between The Bedroom Alliance and the Bacchie Group. Ryan has some very harsh and mean things to say about them. Emily is also sore about losing her friends and is also sore and demeaning toward the Bacchie Group. These folks are totally missing the part about this being a social game. They are starting to have confrontations with folks outside their alliance and are making a lot of threats.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 6 - "Tyred of You" - 28 November 2022
Lots of antagonism between the Bedroom Alliance and the Bacchie Group. OMG, Emily is getting so nasty and whinny about the entire process and Ryan is deliberately trying to start fights and calling the others POS to their face.
Conner and Brittany had the power from the previous Challenge to be the Algorithm and made up the teams with the intent of teaming up the Bedroom Alliance and hoping that with the Bacchies and the other loose alliances working together and hopefully one of the Bedroom Alliance placing last. Well it happened.
The Bedroom Alliance does forget that this is a social as well as physical game and they wasted a good 40 minutes trying to solve a 20 point puzzle that they were not able to complete. By this point the other teams all had at least 15 points, also lots of teams started picking up tokens even though they were only 1 point each the points added up. It did look as if you could do one or two stations before heading bad to the collection point which was always going to be a 2 kilometer loop.
Kiki did pull something in her back and her partner had to push her up the hill from the river but she was able to compete.
The ladies competition between Emily and Sugar in the Balls In elimination was epic that is what you want to see. Unfortunately the men won the coin flip and Grant dominated every round he and Ryan played.
Note: At this point in the game all the players are not eligible to participate in the Global Challenge.

Bearcata - how are you watching this? I follow Angle Cake Entertainment on YouTube and listen to Caffeine Confessionals on YouTube and & Spotify. Both Podcasters have mentioned watching Challenge Australia and I asked both how did they do it. Asked CC twice never got an answer which is highly annoying. Also on Angle Cake same thing happened. However I did get a response from some of the posters. Angle Cake has a Patreon account and they were sharing watching the show. I asked again how do you watch and was told you can get a VPN account and connect to a server in Australia and then create an account on the network that aired The Challenge Australia. I looked in to that and you can get a free trial with several VPN companies and then subscribe to that service. The other method is to logon on to Facebook and find "The Challenge: Google Drive" it is a Facebook site that provides downloads of the Challenge. Request an account. That took about 2 days. The page is a little confusing but if you scroll to your left on the upper left box they list various downloads. I have watched the very first season of The Challenge, which is Road Rules All Stars. It was grainy, and small, 5 episodes about 20 minutes each. I also have all of the Road Rules seasons to watch and found the Australia link and am currently watching that now. Challenge Australia is only 10 one hour episodes (with no commercials the episodes are about 45 minutes long) and they originally aired 2 episodes a week. I am really enjoying it. The digital image is better quality and larger than the Road Rules All Star episodes. I am watching on my PC. I don't like to watch on my monitor but needs must.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 7 - "Ball Busters" - 5 December 2022
Is there some unwritten rule that Olympians are such crybabies. Lolo Jones whined constantly in the Champs vs Stars and in Double Agents playing the victim and how unfair it was and how are it was for her. Emily is also whining all the time. Emily wants everyone to "play fair" and says it is too easy for the others and someone else should go into elimination and that they are all bullies. Well Emily and her Bedroom Alliance do isolate themselves from the others, don't want to talk or interact at all with the Bacchies, and call them S*** every chance they can. Well all I can say is "Welcome to the Challenge".
During Deliberation Connor and Kiki discussed with Ciarran and Brooke B that they were going to stick to the plan they all came up with the prior episode to get rid of Emily. Kiki said it was for the best and she was OK to do it even with an injured back. Later at the party Kiki was very mature about it and told her friends she loved the experience, loved meeting everyone and was OK to do the elimination and she was OK if she went home and she just wanted someone in her alliance to win. OMGosh I wish more players were like Kiki.
Liked the Daily Challenge and it is the one that will be on this week's Challenge 38.
At this point there are 5 teams left, mostly folks from the Bacchie Group, one outlier (Troy), and one Bedroom Alliance.
At this point it was mathematically impossible not to match players with someone new. Grant ended up matched with Megan. Grant said he liked Megan and never had any problem with her. Megan said she did not like Grant and he never smiled and that he had a "resting bitch face".

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 8 - "Brain Freezer" - 5 December 2022
Another Challenge Game that will be seen on the Flagship Series.
Another Arena Game already seen on the Challenge USA but done in pairs.
Grant asks why he lost. Because he cannot communicate. When you are in a partner situation in The Challenge you need to communicate with your partner. That is why everyone wants you out of the game, lack of communication and horrible social game. Even in the phone call to Grant's wife when he discussed being so low and having no mates left she said "you are used to being the popular one" Grant does not know how to handle being the unpopular kid. Is Fessy in the house? Maybe Fess the Mess could explain how being a good partner and communicating with your partner is essential to surviving and winning in this game?
Four teams left. Two hour final next.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 9 - "Do Some Ninja Sh*t" - 12 December 2022
I really like this cast they have such a good attitude. They are having fun, can play the social political aspect, and be cutthroat in who they send into elimination but not one of them are wackjobs, deranged idiots, and entitled morons like we have on the Flagship version of this show.
Earlier at the halfway point of the season the Host made a comment about after this point players are eligible to participate in the Global Challenge and now she is saying there are only two spots open for the Australia Challenge folks to fill for the Global Challenge. That is confusing.
Only three teams left to compete I guess there will not be any purge during the final.
The Host announces that all three teams have made it to the final.
The Algorithm appears and the new teams are: Ciarran & Kiki, Troy & Brooke J, Connor & Brittany.
The Host informs the teams that the final starts NOW, and that the top female will earn $100,000 and the top male will earn $100,000. The players look a bit confused about that information. The top male and the top female will be guaranteed to go to the Global Challenge.
The Host then tells the teams that the final will be a several legs and the first one will be a Ghost Town.

Challenge: Australia Season 1 Episode 10 - "The Final Push" - 13 December 2022 - The Season Final Really liked the season way better than The Challenge USA. There were some brutal physical eliminations. The final looked hard, with lots of endurance, and sleep deprivation, two females participating with injuries, one male participating after being brutally best up in the last elimination, and it was non stop for almost 24 hours. The final was a good balance of physical legs, memory and puzzles legs, or combinations of all three. Good partnering was a must. Glad that they switched up partners during the final. The final started right after the Pato Ball Elimination. Not sure if the teams went back to the Challenge House, or if Troy and Brittany had a chance to shower and put new uniforms on, get a meal, have medical check them out? Day One The new teams of Ciarran + Kiki, Conor + Brittany, and Troy + Brooke J are taken to the start of the final, a Ghost Town where they have to complete a puzzle. This is the puzzle at the midpoint no one could do, and it Amber and Chauncey in Challenge 38 4 hours to do, supposedly. Neither team member can sleep until the puzzle is done. C+K finish first, then T&BJ, then C+B. Partners switch between sleeping in the tent or standing outside on a bench. The final will be non stop and cover 100 kilometers. It is about 18:54:02 since the final started. Day Two Checkpoint #1 Teams run to the next checkpoint where they must collectively ride 100 kilometers. 1. Troy+Brooke J - 1:47:22 2. Ciarran+Kiki - 1:52:17 3. Conor+Brittany - 1:59:00 Run to the Avocado River and complete a puzzle and run to the next leg. 1. Troy+Brooke J - 1:27:05 2. Ciarran+Kiki - 1:42:13 3. Conor+Brittany - 1:14:25 Troy | 03:02:50 | Brooke J | 03:02:50 | Ciarran | 03:11:49 | Kiki | 03:11:49 | Conor | 03:13:25 | Brittany | 03:13:25 |
Checkpoint #2 New Teams: Troy+Kiki Ciarran+Brittany Conor+Brooke J Pick up board + run to the next station + do the leg with 3 wine barrels and the board + run to the next station Troy+Kiki - 1:27:05 Ciarran+Brittany - 1:42:13 Conor+Brooke J - 1:58:30 Troy | 04:29:55 | Kiki | 04:38:11 | Ciarran | 04:54:02 | Brittany | 04:55:38 | Conor | 05:11:55 | Brooke J | 05:01:20 |
Final has run close to 24 hours by this point. Checkpoint #3 New Teams: Troy+Brittany Ciarran+Brooke J Conor+Kiki run to a stack of tyres + carry tyres to a pole + stack in order of people eliminated + push a car through a field full of obstacles + run to final finish line. Ciarran+Brooke J - first Troy+Brittany - second Conor+Kiki - third No times given. Men: there was a 20 minute difference between first and second place: winner - Troy, second - Ciarran, third - Conor. Women: there was a 9 minute difference between first and second place: winner - Kiki, second - Brittany, third - Brooke J. I wish they had shown the times on those legs. They show a bit of a preview of the Global Challenge.

I just finished all 10 episodes on Paramount Plus. I really enjoyed this season. Much more entertaining than the U.S. Ride or Dies version. Lots of contestants with various injuries that popped up during the season, yet they all found a way to keep going.
Troy’s determination was really impressive. He got thrown around like a rag doll in the elimination challenge with Konrad. Konrad threw him to the ground (mostly head first) so many times, I thought for sure Troy would be out of the game with a concussion. Battered and bloody, he hung on for dear life, won that challenge, and went immediately into the final.
Kiki surprised me as the women’s winner. She’s another one that kept going despite her back pain, etc. Conor laying down on the ground when he was so close to the finish line….. wth?? Kiki said she thought he did it on purpose to make her time longer than Brooke J…so that Brooke J would win. Pretty hardcore if that’s the case. Didn’t matter though in the end.

Reading my posts again and seeing the time you do realize that there is a point to doing your best each checkpoint as your time matters. Unlike the Season 38 finale that seemed it really didn't matter how you placed or how long you took. I like that they changed partners each leg. I like that the audience was given a summary of how long the legs took until the very last leg, that is so annoying. This was a fun challenge and a fun final. The Challenge Australia really captured the spirit of The Challenge and it was great and it also makes me scratch my head why it did so poorly in the ratings. This show was way better than The Challenge USA and Season 38.

Kiki was my favorite, & I'm so glad she won.
I was also glad Troy won. He gave me such Derrick K. vibes in that elimination. It was so reminiscent of when Derrick went against Joss as a mercenary in Vendettas. Never count those smaller guys out! They can be really scrappy!
Two people I absolutely couldn't stand were Cyrell or Grant. Although Cyrell brought the drama, she was just too much of a hothead. Grant was horrible to his partners, such a bad communicator & then blamed his partners when they lost. I was so glad when he got eliminated.
I liked Sugar & Ryan & was bummed to see them both get knocked out in a single elimination.
I absolutely HATED the host doing commentary during the challenges & eliminations. I was just like, "SHUT.UP." She was a bit much overall. Too hyper.

The Challenge UK just dropped on Paramount Plus. Only 5 episodes. But very much like the Aussie cast. New people, big personalities. The camera work and editing is so much better especially when the players get physical and they are brutal with full contact.
