I probably would have missed The Traitors if I hadn't seen a trailer for it after watching another show on Peacock. It ends up it's a game like the Mole, where contestants compete in challenges to win money and a few of the contestants are traitors, working against the group. It stars reality tv show contestants, other celebrities, and a few ordinary folks. The cast includes: Kate Chastain - Below Deck Rachel Reilly - Big Brother Stephenie LaGrossa - Survivor Cirie Fields - Survivor Reza Farahan - Shahs of Sunset Brandi Glanville - actress Cody Calafiore - Big Brother Kyle Cooke - actor Ryan Lochte - Olympic diver Arie Loyendyk Jr. - race car driver I'm really loving it so far! www.imdb.com/title/tt15557874/

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I need to, though. I loved The Mole.

This is a pretty fun show. I love the host, Alan Cumming. And the setting in the castle for a “murder mystery” show is amazing!
I’m about half way through the show so far. It seems like the traitors have all the power. I don’t hold out much hope for the “faithfuls.” It just seems so easy to get fingers pointed at anybody who says or does something that doesn’t quite sit right with everybody else.

Agreed I wish we didn’t know who they were either.
Just finished the finale. The ending was really strange. The winner is ridiculously skilled at lying…wow.

I would have done the exact same thing. There was basically a choice between taking half of $250K and taking all of $250K. There was no possibility at that pint of either of the remaining Faithfuls getting any money.

I loved the U.S, version. Loved that Hubris takes out those who can't keep their mouths shut. Very happy with the winner. About time she won a reality competition.
Right after that and an Andy Cohen Discussion aired, the next up on Peacock was the Australian version shot in a lonely converted hotel near the outback. Also good. Enjoyed getting to know the contestants.. They had 4 original Traitors rather than the three of the American or English version. The contests were all tied to Australia and I enjoyed listening and trying to relate to their speech (namings, etc.)
Last, but probably should have watched first is the English version. A female presenter - Claudette or Claudine was the host. It used the same Scottish Highland castle as USA and most of the contests were the same except of a few twists. Everyone getting on the train which puffed through the mountainside of the Highlands looked like it was taken right out of Harry Potter. Luckily, in this version, the Traitor was sent home at last camp fire and the three non-traitors split L 100,000+ .
All Three were delightful, Glad I ran across them on PEACOCK.

I've been making my way through this one. I stopped for a while, but just picked it back up. I already know who won, so that's not a surprise, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless....well, except for Kate who is HORRIBLE. What an absolute witch. Can't wait for her to go home.
Cirie is such a master! It looks easy, but I think it's really hard. I know I would be terrible at this game. I have the absolute opposite of a poker face!
I just saw that Peacock has the Aussie version and it's hosted by Rodger Corser, who I LOVE. Gonna watch that next!

I watched all the various versions on Peacock, you will enjoy the Aussie one I honestly felt, and I say this as Alan's biggest fan, Corser was the best host of the 3. The UK version was really hard on the participants more than any of them, really added another dynamic. The US version, because of all the reality peeps I think, was too campy. I also agree on Kate, she is awful..always.. I get she has her faithful fans (no pun intended here) but I just find her to be the worst human being at times.

I loved him on Doctor Doctor/The Heart Guy.
I'm watching episode 1 of the Aussie series right now!
ETA: Okay, I'm now 5 episodes in and I have to say, Angus is kind of a hottie and yeah, he does look a bit like Bradley Cooper.
I agree with you that adding the reality people into the US version makes it a bit campy. I also think that, if Cirie had been up against reality people in the end, she might not have won so easily. The other two were just blindsided and felt so betrayed because they had no experience with this kind of competition. I felt bad for them because they believed her and were so crestfallen to find out she's *gasp* lied to them....on a reality TV competition show IMO, if the other two had reality tv experience, I think the reaction would have been disappointment, but also respect for how she played the game.

Very good points! I loved that my girl won, I will always adore Cirie, but yes it is a very mental game and the reality folks are hardened to it already. I could not stop watching the Aussie version, I think it is my fave of the 3. It also has different challenges. US/UK are almost the same in many,, but UK's cast made the difference to me.

I just finished the Aussie season and OMG, that finale was brutal! I felt so sorry for the F2. They just looked absolutely blindsided. The thing I've found, after watching two seasons of this format, is that the finalists end up feeling betrayed and it's sort of sad. I preferred the Aussie version too, FireWoman . I may watch the UK version too, but I'm going to take a break and watch other things first.

Peacock has a special, $1.99 each for two months so I took it and just finished the first 4 episodes of the American Traitors.
Brandy must not have any more plastic surgery. Too big lips, too big cheeks, any more and she will not look human any more.
Both Kate and Brandi are so high maintenance they would emasculate any male they were with.
Christian is so bad as this game.

Making plans and executing without talking to his allies.
Got really cocky.
In Real Life he would have been done for.

Reunion:
Stephanie was a bit hot about Cirie being a traitor however "Fields split the $100,000 prize with Big Brother and The Amazing Race alums Janelle Pierzina and Rachel Reilly after they correctly determined that LaGrossa Kendrick was the Snake" in "Snake in the Grass".
Cody saying Cirie was a backstabber was a bit much. He was trying to lay the blame of all the eliminated on her. Cirie didn't have to do much just vote with the majority the other players did her work for her.
Andi and Quentin were still hot that Cirie fooled them and used personal family information. Like they would never? It is a game.

Finished 5 of the 12 Aussie episodes, at 50+ minutes I find them a bit long.
I don't understand why Angus didn't simply defend himself in the first shield challenge by saying I wanted the shield because I wanted safety in the next banishment because I was accused in the last banishment and almost send home and the host said to get it "by any means" and that is the reason why I wrestled Nigel and dunked him underwater. I didn't realize I had gone too far and I sorry I scared Nigel. I was still very hot/angry that I didn't get the shield that I said something stupid to Nigel, that I would like to murder him.
Fi/Fiona was such a bitch later in discussion and at the banishment and kept saying that Angus said "I am murdering you tonight". Seriously does anyone think that a Traitor would be that stupid to say something like that out loud in a crowd of Faithful? If I was playing I would be more suspicious that Fi was a Traitor trying to get Angus out.

So Far:
1. Watched the Traitor US version first and loved it. I did not mind that it was campy.
2. Started Traitor Australia and got up to episode 6 ... the episodes tend to be longish aroun 58 minutes to some well over an hour and I feel that drags the episode.
3. Finished Traitor UK. Wow that was brutal. I was very angry at the last traitor. The last traitor on the UK show was similar in temperament to the young male traitor on the USA version. I felt they were taking way too many risks and making a lot of moves without telling his partner traitors. In my opinion the older women traitors were good, being quiet and making big moves but not being foolish and risky. The dumbest traitors were the younger men, just huge risktakers that their own people would take them out.

I just found this show the other day and binge-watched the whole thing. I really enjoyed it, but I did feel sad for Andie. They were just too guileless to be playing this game. It was sad to see how much they trusted Cirie and know how heartbroken they were going to be when they found out that she was a traitor. Like someone else said, the people who had experience in competitive reality shows like Survivor and Big Brother were used to being able to separate the game from the relationships. It was hard to see some of the others not quite know how to cope. I didn't get Cody and Christian being so pissy with Cirie at the reunion. They both made serious mistakes in their gameplay that made it necessary to get rid of them. What happened was their own damn fault. I thought she was totally justified in turning on them to protect herself. And Christian at the end was throwing out both Arie's and Cirie's names, so he was hardly loyal to anyone. I did think it was kind of weird that Quentin (at least) didn't pick up on the subtext of what happened between Cirie and Arie at the final fire. Cirie said so clearly that she wanted to do another banishment, because there was someone who hadn't earned their reward (or something like that). In response, Arie withdrew and said as clearly as he could, without saying too much, that he was a traitor and that he had been recruited to be a traitor at the end. I thought he offered some pretty good breadcrumbs to help them figure out the connection to what Cirie said so they'd realize she was a traitor, too. But I guess maybe when emotions are that heightened, critical thinking goes out the window. I was really hoping that his sacrifice would end in Andie and Quentin getting the money. (Not that I was mad Cirie got it. She played a perfect game.) I'm tempted now to watch at least the Australian show. Sounds like the British one might be too intense.

I just finished this one, too, and really liked it. I agree, MissGriss that Cirie really played the game well. She was quiet, subtle, and everyone seemed to trust her. Her relationship with Andie was sweet, and I felt bad for them at the end because it was such a shock. Cirie did a good job of trying to explain, and emphasize that their relationship was meaningful to her too, she just had a job to do there. I haven't finished the reunion yet, but the only one who has a right to be a little bitter is Arie. That's when Cirie decided she needed to be cut-throat about her game play, and just cut him right out of any money. The other two (the faithfuls) got played, but that was the objective of the game (like it or not). What would they have done if they'd been a traitor, just let the faithfuls have all the money? I understood a little bit when Cirie said Arie hadn't even been a traitor that long, and she had been since Day 1, dealing with the stress of it all. But it still shocked me that she did that at the end. Arie was gracious and took himself out of the game, saying he's been blessed in his life (?didn't need the money?), and I find him to be much nicer than I thought I would. I agree with the girl on the reunion who said she was so wrong about him, from what he had done on the Bachelor. For the majority of the game, I thought Cirie played great, trying not to stand out or be pushy. She let her fellow traitors crash and burn, by messing up their games themselves (except for Arie at the end), and there were several times that she shed real tears at the banishments. She's very smart about when to be strategic, when to be quiet, and not to let her emotions run her game. I like that about her. She had real friends there, and many people seemed to go to her for advice and reassurance. She just has that personality, I guess.

Season: 2
Departure: September 18 & 19
Set in a remote castle, Scott C plays host to reality TV icons and America’s best game players competing in a game of alliances, deception and even “murder” for a chance to win up to $250,000. Contestants in the game move into a majestic castle and work as a team to complete a series of dramatic and challenging missions to earn money for the prize pot. But three of the contestants are secretly traitors, who will attempt to deceive and manipulate their way to the prize by eliminating ‘loyal’ contestants.
Cast (I will be updating this list as more info becomes available)
Beth Stolarczyk (The Real World & The Challenge) Carsten "Bergie" Bergersen (Love Island) Christopher “CT” Tamburello (The Real World & The Challenge) Dan Gheesling (Big Brother) Janelle Marie Pierzina (Big Brother and The Amazing Race) John “Johnny Bananas” Devenanzio (The Real World & The Challenge) Lindsay Hubbard (Summer House) Mercedes Javid (Shahs Of Sunset) Tamra Judge (The Real Housewives) Trishelle Cannatella (The Real World & The Challenge)
Wow, this is actually the perfect format reality show to transition players from other franchises.

Bergie??!! Whoa, he's in for some eye opening lessons, with some of these experienced cut-throat players! There's one thing Bergie isn't, and that's experienced! Nice midwestern guy who's barely gotten his first girlfriend and worked at a Dairy Queen ... against BANANAS?? yikes. But I'll love to watch!
