Just saw this on my tv last week. I got caught up in it because Bachelorette Hannah Brown is on it and she is doing really well. About half the people that were on there quit because it is so hard or too scary for them to do. Since my stroke I really don't do well with trying to explain a show, just check it out. In Canada it is on Wednesday nights at 9pm, not sure if it is on the same night in the states.

In Canada it is on Wednesday nights at 9pm, not sure if it is on the same night in the states. They're now down to five people and Hannah is the only non-athlete left. SO proud of her! It's Hannah, Gus Kenworthy (skier), Carli Lloyd (soccer), Danny Amendola (NFL), and Dwight Howard (NBA).
I wasn't planning on watching because of Kate Gosselin, but once I found out she was gone in the first episode, I decided to give it a try. I did mute that first episode whenever KG was on screen, but then she was gone!

Yeah. Hannah’s doing great! I thought Hannah was going to beat Carli in the fight since Hannah’s had quite a bit of boxing experience having done it as exercise for quite a while. But maybe she never actually fought. They were both pretty tough. Impressive.
I felt sad for that oldest guy (I can’t remember his name). He had struggled so much and was feeling so much better after a good conversation with staff, but then he forgot his arm band and everyone got punished, which just sent his mood down again.

Wow! This week was intense! Not gonna lie. I cried when Mike left. And I felt so bad for Gus! I wonder what caused that reaction. I initially thought maybe he had heat stroke, but it was clearly something else. I’m glad he got the treatment he needed in time. I’m bummed for him that he had to leave. It was interesting to hear Carli and Hannah say how sweet he is. I really didn’t like him in the beginning. Big ego and big mouth. And so judgmental. So it’s nice to know that there’s more to him. I found this interview where Gus talks about the medical stuff as well as the rest of his experience. Very interesting! youtu.be/uRYj6izUkws

I sure would not last on this show....I would be done on the first day. Trying to swim and get up that ladder on the helicopter would be so hard. I might make it to the helicopter but that would be about it! I wouldn't be able to climb the ladder at all. I wasn't sure I would like this show but I do. I love that Hanna is doing so well! She is always smiling and I am proud of her even though I don't know her. I felt bad for Dwight I think his name is. He was so scared of the water but then he didn't come back up after and they had to send divers in for him. He must have been scared to death!

Really these soldiers are bad*sses to say the least. Which is an understatement. Knowing they have been through heck and back.

I continue to be SO impressed with Hannah. I didn't think she'd go home early, but I definitely didn't think she'd still be there at the end, with three professional athletes....and arguably, she's done better than Carli (more passes than Carli in challenges). She should be so proud of herself. She's managed to hang tough through the challenges and maintain her kind, sweet personality.
I can't find anything that says how many episodes there are this season. Is next week the finale?

I'm not sure how many more episodes there are. In this week's episode, someone said there was only one day left, so it's possible that there's only one more episode. But it's also possible that they'll drag that one day out.

Well, looks like there's one more week to go. The interrogation looks l ike it's going to be brutal. I hope Dwight's OK. It didn't sound good in the preview for next week.

SO happy for Hannah! And Carli too, of course! I love that two women won in the end and that Hannah bested so many pro athletes and, frankly, did better overall than Carli, who failed quite a few (at least it seemed that way) challenges.

Pretty impressive, all right! Carli definitely failed quite a few tests. The staff commented on that in the final evaluation but said they were impressed that she seemed to learn from her mistakes and keep trying. I'm with you on Hannah! It was amazing how consistently good she was at things and how much grit she had!

IMO, SHE won the show over Carli, if you consider performance across the entire show. She didn't just last until the end: she excelled.
I was pretty surprised that the guys tapped out so late in the competition. As one of the special forces guy said, this was more about mental strength than anything. Physical strength is important, but mental strength is what pulls you through.
Hannah was SO impressive in that interrogation. I totally would have crumpled if those guys were yelling in MY face.

Just finished watching.
Very impressed with Hannah.
Carli's nickname of Stonewall was on point.
Gus's attitude got to me and I was angry with his attitude toward Nastia getting getting help from the staff during the drowning car exercise.
Nastia shocked me that an Olympic athletic would crumble like she did.
I was also surprised Mel B went home early as I have seen her in other reality shows and expected her to stay longer.
The professional athletes really had egos and attitudes. They may need that to be successful in their careers but it does not translate to doing well in other fields and dealing with people. Dwight the basketball player really had an attitude that would get himself killed.
The other celebrities didn't do well. They are good in their workplace but it did not translate well into this special ops exercise.
Partly, I do think (American) males are trained to be these big mouthed sales people bragging how good they are. Anthony Scaramucci is so typical. Did anyone believe a word he said?
I do think the 50 yr old guys psyched themselves out. As the Drill Staff said it is a mental game.

I was surprised that Nastia left, too, but I think Gus hit her where she was most vulnerable by essentially accusing her of cheating, and she's someone for whom her reputation is clearly everything. She might want to learn to care less what other people think. I saw an interview with her after the show ended, and she very much regretted having left.
If I'd been the guys in charge, I would have sent Gus home for questioning my leadership. They knew what they were doing. Nastia needed some psychological support, and they were the ones to make the call, not Gus. No one physically helped her.

OTOH it was an opportunity for Nastia or one of the others to stand up and tell Gus to shut up or why didn't he ask the Drill Staff directly why they did what they did. I thought it had been made clear the DS set the parameters not the celebrities.

On his Daily Roundup today, Reality Steve talked briefly about the fact that Season 2 of Special Forces is currently filming (or maybe just finished filming) in Australia, I think. Two people he mentioned as participants are somebody Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules (don’t watch) and Nick Vial from Bachelor Nation.
Has anybody heard of other participants?
He didn’t know when the show would be aired, but he thought it would likely be at the beginning of 2024.

I am so glad this show is back soon, I really enjoyed it. Doing this in the winter time I think would be so hard! This time I know 6 of the people where last one I only knew of Hannah.

I don't have a pick to win yet, although I want Tyler Cameron to stick around for a while because he's so pretty. My only other wish, really, is to see smug Nick Viall pounded into the ground and left in tears! And then everyone can constantly remind him how much better Hannah did! I don't know who Dez Bryant is (I hate football, so that makes sense), but I know who everyone else is.

I forgot the new season started this week, so I watched it OnDemand last night.
It makes me sad to see what Tara Reid did to her face. It seems like so little plastic surgery - especially when it's done on young woman - succeeds in making the person look younger.
Before she even mentioned it, when JoJo started talking about being yelled at, I said, "It'll be just like Dance Moms." I hope she's able to let go of that facade of the cute, perky girl and just do what she has to do.

Season 2 Episode 1
Tara Reid - I have heard the name before but didn't know who she was. OMG - she tried to smuggle 3 packs of cigarettes in to camp. Owee - she will be in severe nicotine withdrawal. Total smoker's voice. Is that why Miley Cyrus sounds so bad? Tara is a wreck. No confidence. What happened to her face? Check out her wiki page it's like this is a different person.
Jojo - not a fan, everyone thinks she is so great. Never watched her. Especially on DWTS when they made her the star of the show kowtowing to her having a female partner, making her the face of wokeness for that season. This should be interesting watching her grow up.
Austin Green - can't remember all three names - comes across like a dick.
Jack Osbourne - "oh those exercises don't look that hard" - well you don't look that fit. Picks the biggest rock ... hope it hurt after.
The retired football player with an ego. This should go well.
Chesley Girl - impressed. It's funny how one person does the trial/challenge then everyone after can do it.

We're REALLY not allowing the use of the word "woke" as a pejorative here. A show being more welcoming and accepting of the LGBTQ+ community is not a bad thing. We've discussed this in other show forums, so I'm making sure that's clear here as well

Checked out Tara Reid's wiki page. What the heck happened? If those images are accurate she still looked very attractive back in 2007 or so. But her dating life WOW, a bit of a disaster.

As for Tara’s appearance, it just looks to me like she’s lived a REALLY hard life. Her description of herself as a “broken bird” seemed spot on. I’m not sure putting herself in an environment that builds strength by learning to be immune to abuse is really the best way to heal from bullying, but I hope she finds healing whether here or elsewhere. I feel for her.

Second episode with them dipping into the freezing water. Tara was made the leader for the day and was the first one in. She actually passed, but Nikki is such a pain. My bet is she is the first one out.
The first 13 make it, but Nikki fails. She is still complaining about her knee.

Well, I was wrong. Tara just quit because she couldn't carry her bag. She was my 2nd choice for first one out. Seriously, that bag was as big as she was.
Second task is to climb down a dam and they have to go head to head...face forward.
Dez and Robert go first. They are both having issues. Robert wins. JoJo and Brian...JoJo wins. Nick and Tom...Tom wins, but it was very close. Tyler vs Jack...Tyler wins? Re-watched...Jack won by the skin of his teeth. Bodi vs Savannah...OMG...She pukes...and we have to see it. I'm at work so missed who won. Bodi for the win. Dez goes again so Black Chyna goes against someone. She is won't go over the wall and she's out. Not exactly shocked. Des goes again anyway and then blows up and he is out! I don't know what set him off. I may have to re-watch this when I'm home.
I missed a team. Erin vs Kelly...Kelly won.
