I saw the one with Gus Fring a while back and was practically giddy! As excited as I am about seeing familiar BB characters, I'm also bummed, because we're getting closer to Jimmy becoming Saul AND to the show ending.
It's almost surprising to know that BB had only 5 seasons and we're now entering season 4 for BCS. I've not read anything about when they think this show will end, but if they keep progressing toward the events at the beginning of BB, the end has to come in the next few seasons, doesn't it?
I read a quote from Bob Odenkirk about being kind of sad to see Jimmy really start to turn into Saul.

I started watching Better Call Saul before I ever saw Breaking Bad so I didn't realize at the time it was a spin-off! I didn't keep up with Better Call Saul just because I was watching so many other shows at the time but I recently watched all of Breaking Bad so now I'm back to Better Call Saul. I wouldn't mind if Mike had a spin-off show, too, to show his days as a cop. I really like his character.

Jimmy's brother is a total ass! I feel so sorry for him having to deal with that nutjob. You'd think his brother would be happy that Jimmy applied himself to finish the Bar and become an attorney like him but instead he seems to feel threatened by him and is doing everything he can to undermine him. With a brother like that, you'd be better off to consider yourself an only child.

I spent last winter binge watching all of Breaking Bad, then the El Camino movie about Jessie Pinkman, and then the prior 4 seasons of BCS which I finished up about a month before Season 5 started. We now have a dry period of at least a year before the final 6th season, maybe longer because production has been set back. Has anyone picked up on the short videos that focus around the individual BCS characters? This year it was Kim-Wexler-Ethics-Training, one segment released after each episode. All about 2 minutes each and very tongue in cheek with partly automated segments that are supposed to be hypothetical but actually tie into the characters and some of the events - what I think are referred to as Easter Eggs. Based on how this season wrapped up, it's intentionally ironic that Kim would give a class on lawyer ethics. Worth searching on the internet if you haven't seen them. Mike did one on security training. Gus on employee training. Lalo a single on cooking. www.youtube.com/results?search_query=kim+wexler+ethics+trainingwww.youtube.com/results?search_query=mike+ehrmantraut+security+training+www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gus+fring+employee+training

Very good opener. I am so worried about Kim. I’m worried about Kim too. I also find myself worrying about Nacho. Yikes! He’s in quite the pickle. Love this show - it is so good. I rewatched the previous season last week in preparation

I'm only on episode 5, but it's soooo good. I love the way it's filmed, too, with all the close ups and unique shots.
I have to say I enjoyed what they've been doing to Howard, borrowing his car w/the hooker, etc. I think this prequel is supposed to be in '05; they sure didn't have cameras everywhere then, did they? LOL! They'd have gotten into all kinds of trouble otherwise! But Howard is so smarmy.
Poor Nacho, though! Fring is just chilling. Lalo scares me too!

Ok this week's episode...... I loved seeing Carol Burnett but I do remember older episodes of Jimmy/Saul being Gene but why this week. 2 hours in black and white.

Ok this week's episode...... I loved seeing Carol Burnett but I do remember older episodes of Jimmy/Saul being Gene but why this week. 2 hours in black and white. Two hours? Is that two episodes? "Nippy" was only an hour long.
I LOVED IT. I think the feeling when we first saw "Gene" was that Jimmy/Saul had been killed and that Gene was just this bland guy living a bland life. This episode showed that Saul is still under there. Plus, I thought it was shot beautifully. I love that so many shots are cinematic in feel. I enjoyed seeing his life after BB more than just those few little glimpses.
I swear, if Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seahorn don't win Emmys this year, I'm going to be HEATED. That scene when Saul realizes Kim is leaving was excellent. They are just so good together.
The next episode is titled "Breaking Bad." Could this be when we finally see Walter White and Jesse Pinkman again?
