Jess and the "butt incident"! I couldn't help but find it funny. That girl is jealous. OMG.

I THINK he said Rob, because I was expecting him to say Alex and was surprised he didn't. But I could also be wrong about that. I went back and watched it again, he did say Alex.

Oh, that makes more sense. I really like Alex and his crush on Bugsy is so cute. It also seems like he enjoys his job and being around the guests.

I drew the conclusion tonight that to great Jess and Rob were attracted to each other because they are both TERRIBLE at relationships so it’s good that neither pulled anyone else in to that.
I also started to wonder ... how different would this season have been if Sandy had brought Aesha back in the beginning instead of turning to Bugsy when the first stew was let go. Hannah wouldn’t have felt undermined. She wouldn’t have fought Malia on the rooms. Malia may not have felt over confident pulling in all her allies. Could have been totally different.

Sandy confirmed in the reunion that she’s a bully. And like most bullies, she’s insecure and weak. Hannah was very smart to ask her to define the accusations she was making - like when Sandy would say Hannah was lying and Hannah asked what she lied about. Sandy would jump in, make sweeping generalizations but could not back any of them up. Every time she was challenged to she’d declare she wasn’t arguing about it. Can’t stand her!

Sandy and Malia were on full public relations mode. Sandy was trying desperately to control the interview and kept repeating "it's not personal, it's professional". When asked if she had favourites each season she dodged and then shortly after cited Malia "standing up for herself" against Hannah in her first season. Sandy failed to mention that Malia was causing all sorts of chaos with her love triangle and Hannah was trying to throw water on it before the lads brained each other. Malia just smiled a lot and tried to use her professional conduct card. I also figured out a mannerism of Sandy's that turns me off...whenever she gets "speechy" she seems to me so insincere. ie "Hannah you don't seem yourself" ect. Bugsy...also not one of my favourites...to her credit said little and let Sandy and Malia take the heat. An intelligent move.

I haven't watched the show in months . . . but
I've done some reading online about this new chef, Tom. As some have opined, his saying he worked under Gordon Ramsay because he worked in one of Ramsay's restaurants is the same as me saying that Gordon Ramsay cooked my dinner because I ate at Hell's Kitchen in Las Vegas.
Everything I've read about the Tom/Gordon connection is carefully worded. Things like, "I trained as a pastry chef and worked in Ramsay's restaurant in Chelsea." Well, did he actually work as a pastry chef in that restaurant, or was he a server? If it were me, I'd have said, "I used my training as a pastry chef to create beautiful desserts at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Chelsea."
He sounds like he's resume puffing to me.

I think that Sandy would serve herself well if she'd admit that it IS personal. I don't think there'd be anything wrong with her admitting that they are working in close quarters and you gel with some people more than others and she tends to push and encourage those she gel with. When she denies it, it seems to me that she KNOWS it is wrong and is trying to pretend she's not doing it. Why not just embrace he behavior? Sandy also really struggled when she was trying to get out of things in speaking in generalizations and then was asked for specifics. She tried to weasel out of the room assignments mess by claiming the first officer was responsible for that - but Andy messed her up asking who that would be on this boat. She didn't have an answer since they didn't have a first officer. She tried to weasel out of the way she mishandled Hannah's firing by claiming Hannah lies a lot - but struggled when Hannah asked her what she lied about. Sandy wants to be the person who just speaks with authority and plows past people. It really screws her up when people don't just roll with her confidence.

When everyone was talking about Hannah and her pills did Sandy say she is currently in rehab or was in rehab ??? I should have rewound that to hear it again.
That was a tough Reunion to watch. This was a tough season.
It was good seeing Kiko. I did not realize that about Pete at all. Yikes. Not good.

What did you not realize about Pete, Kar?
Did they mention the Cameo that C. Sandy did?

It's interesting how the networks determine whose apology to accept or not. Nick Cannon had made many racist and anti semitic remarks, but is still the host of the popular masked singer show.

I officially can not stand Sandy as well especially after that reunion. Her smug looks and self righteous answers were just gross to witness. I hope that she can someday become more self aware. Unfortunately she is breeding a monster in Malia to be exactly like her. And Malia really does have potential so I find that quite sad.

Unfortunately she is breeding a monster in Malia to be exactly like her. And Malia really does have potential so I find that quite sad. I see a slight difference between Malia and Sandy. I am probably bias here because I've realized Malia really reminds me of an acquaintance that has been getting on my nerves! I think that Malia feeds on attention. She talks often about her older brothers and being the only girl in her family. I think that she grew up learning that if she was cute, she'd get attention and people would take care of her. She thrives on it. I wached some reruns of her first season in a marathon today, and everytime something good happened to her, she had to make sure everyone else knew. Sandy gave her a chance to take the boat out of the slip and she walked around the yacht making sure every crew member knew she'd be doing it. She didn't brag - she talked about the pressure and being nervous. But the need for attention is evident. I think Sandy feeds on authority. No doubt she had to work hard to get where she is, and she wants everyone to bow down to it. I think she gets uncomfortable in reunions because Andy talks to them all as cast members, and she doesn't like not being treated as superior to everyone else. I think it was really evident with Hannah for this reunion because Hannah knows she'll no longer answer to her and was talking to her like an equal. I do think you're right that Malia is picking up on this - she showed it in the ways she'd talk about "well in yachting it works like this ..." believing no one else would know. Same with the room assignments and the way she took advantage of Hannah not being around to get everyone on board with her plan because she was the highest ranking at the dinner table. And if Malia starts feeding off both attention and authority she could be a holy mess. But right now, I think attention is still what feeds Malia the most.

They did such a good job of avoiding Pete that when we would get quick flashes of him I would be like "WHO IS THAT!?!?!"

I think it was the last night they all went out together, there was a scene in the van where he said something that had to be left in for the conversation to make sense, and it seemed so weird to me. It was kind of like in the early seasons when the engineer would appear every now and then but not really be part of the show.

There are always a couple of crew members on the yacht that are not a part of the show. It's a safety thing to make sure everything functions as it should while they are filming.

Me too! Great to see C. Lee back.
Although it was a bit like a horror movie, February 2020 and everyone is going about their business...then a deckhand gets a call that his grandmother has the 'flu' and is struggling with it. Ugh! When he hugged the Captain I cried.
I think I already like the Chief Stew I like instead of blaming the guests, that she was 'mortified', I felt that really said a lot about her work ethic and how she sees her role. The stew who tool 3 hours to make a bowl of Cheerios? Calling everyone 'extra' does not help me like her. The guests have every right to be 'extra' when they pay a ton to be on a yacht.

This season has a couple who definitely took the job as a chance to hang out on a yacht instead of to do the work. It'll be interesting to see if they grow out of that.
Eddie was on WWHL Monday, and was the first Below Deck person I've seen who really took issue with the way Malia handled the Hannah situation. I was a little surprised as I've gotten used to everyone taking the Sandy/Malia side. But he said that if he'd been in her shoes, he would have handled it person to person instead of going to the captain.
