I cringed when Eddie told her that. I feel like Elizabeth is going to hold that over Francesca some how. "Well Eddie told me Captain Lee wants me here!" She's definitely not the worst stew we've ever seen but it seems her entire schtick is to complain about how Francesca treats her. Which as we know....isn't the worst either.
The guests are great!! If I were Rachel I would much rather serve these guests who enjoy every morsel than the young 20 somethings who want to eat sushi off a human.

I'm still crazy about all the demands that the guests made - but it is nice to see that they appreciate the delivery! After all the trouble to get the slide up, I was dreading the thought of them not using it! At least they've used what they asked for!
I guess it's a tricky position for a dept head to be in when a crew member starts complaining in their presence. Standing on the beach, Eddie really coudln't walk away. Had he told her to stop, he may have made her even more frustrated. There's an art to it I guess. As good as Eddie has become, he hasn't perfected that!

Just finished watching tonight's episode. Rachel needs to stay away from alcohol. She is extremely obnoxious when she's drinking. I'm with Eddie in that he really just wants to limit his interactions with her after she quit, because she didn't care that she was screwing the whole crew over in doing so. Yeah, she came back, but if someone did that to all of us at work, I'd keep them at arm's length as well. Plus, again, super obnoxious when they're all out at dinner.
Also, I was glad Francesca demoted Elizabeth. She never should've given her that second stripe to start with. That part is on her. She should've made her earn it first, not just give it to her by default.
The donkey sanctuary looked so fun! The baby goats were so cute, too! It was nice to see Lee out with them, that's pretty rare. I think the ones that stayed behind really missed out.

I understood Eddies point about Rachel and thought it was interesting that Lee said basically the same thing. It seemed that what Eddie didn’t pick up on from the others was that they were taking a pragmatic approach of knowing she screwed them, but that she was there and getting them a huge tip. They all have to live and work together so there’s not a lot of room for grudges. Totally agree with you Holly that Francesca messed up promoting Elizabeth without reason. Her kindness was misread which has left the rest of her feedback misunderstood. Taking away the stripe was right and better than firing her. But she was fixing her own mistake, not Elizabeth’s.

Those guests were super appreciative of everything. See? You can't judge a person on their preference sheet. (Unless they are vegan, gluten-free, and can't eat anything with, or contains, the letter P on Wednesdays and on Fridays, anything with the letter C. )
The new deckhand is super cute!

That chef acts rather strange even without the alcohol. I don't look forward to seeing more of her drunk antics in the preview.

Quite the compliment from Captain Lee though "she might be the best chef I've ever seen!"

That chef acts rather strange even without the alcohol. I don't look forward to seeing more of her drunk antics in the preview. I have to agree. The chef seems like she has some mental issues. Sometimes she says really disgusting sexual things that don’t even make sense. She has a history of quitting jobs unexpectedly. She can act sweet and thoughtful and then act threatening and vile. I’d definitely be wary of her. I think in the preview for upcoming shows I heard/saw the queen of Versailles again. I hope it’s not her, I didn’t care for her the first time she was on. Captain Lee talks about losing his son. 😢

You know how they do the never before seen shows each week? I’d like a spin off variation of that each week that is a half hour of all of eddies commentary to capt lee sitting on the bridge! It is gold!

Yes! Eddie and the Australian stew who is not Elizabeth whose name I can't remember were on - and I think they were the best two Below Deck crew members to do the show yet! They did not say a lot about what happened since it will continue next week. But Eddie did say that he remembers Capt Lee kicking off some guests in the first season when they had drugs on board and he thought he was more angry about this than he was that incident. Eddie also said that while he doesn't regret how annoyed he was at Rachel when she left and then came back, he understands and supports why Capt Lee took her back because they needed a chef and she's a great chef. It sounded like he's come around ... though when they played a game where he had to pick his all star cast, he chose Ben over Rachel for his chef.
I thought it was interesting that Eddie commented that being boat people made these bad guests. I had not thought about it, but I guess it makes sense. As people who spend a lot of time on boats, they all came on with expectations of how they spend time on their own, which would make them more demanding instead of appreciative. I guess it would also be added pressure for the deck crew as they will have people who do many of the jobs they are doing and will have opinions on how well they do them.

Did anybody catch Galley Talk? I forgot about it being on on Friday but they replayed it last night. I LOVE IT! Josiah, Kate and Bobby are my faves.

I watched it and really enjoyed it! I kind of wish there was a way for the people in the various locations to react to each other - I'd love to see Kate and Josiah play off each other! But I understand why they don't do that. But I would like it if at the start and end of the episode, they combined the four houses chatroom style so they could all debrief together.

Wow wow wow! Having C. Lee pissed at me would be one of my most terrifying nightmares. And that woman deserved it. Her behavior at dinner was uncomfortable, to say the least. C. Lee looked so miserable.
I hope to God, I never get that drunk.
Also, I assume C. Lee was drinking wine at dinner, he can't drive the boat back then, can he?

The only time I remember Capt Lee being shown drinking was the charter earlier this season where he was asked to join in the game drinking from the carafe - and I think they were in dock then. It is nothing but a guess, but I would venture to guess that if they are out to sea and he joins guests for a dinner, he probably refrains from drinking and any sane guest would understand why.

You are right. He probably doesn't drink at those dinners - which makes them even more of a misery! I had remembered the carafe thing and didn't remember them being docked. It's like being a pilot, can't really drink on the job.
Eddie was so right about trying to get the captain to get out of dinner!

The boat has additional crew who are not filmed who pilot the boat/keep watch on a regular basis. During the times when Capt. Lee is socializing, alcohol or not, with the guests, there are others who would be able to pilot the boat, if necessary.

In the time he was away from the show, Eddie really did come into his own as a leader. I love the way he helped out Francesca keeping her from going to Capt Lee. He was able to do it in a way that made them feel like equals even though he was showing more experience with capt Lee in that moment. I also liked the way he talked to James about his hook up and stood up for Izzy without demeaning her.

I love love LOVE me some Eddie!! I could see him becoming a great Captain one day. He leads without even looking like he's leading...if you know what I mean? It feels natural and effortless. Bye Delores! I couldn't believe she hopped off the tender And Rachel! She is a horrible horrible drunk! I was embarrassed when she started singing

I'm curious to see how the conversation we saw in teh previews between Capt Lee, Eddie and Fracesca goes talking about Rachel. That's another thing that I'm really liking about this season - the amount of time they are showing with Eddie and Frachesca on the bridge decompressing with Capt Lee. I would venture to guess that those conversations happened in past seasons too - they just may not have made the edits. But I like seeing how healthy it is to have those leadership conversations to keep things moving.
When Delores jumped off the tender, I started wondering if that group didn't decide to go on the charter for the opportunity to be memorable on TV.

I really just don't care for Rachel. Personally, I question whether she drinks all day, every day. A nip here & there...
She's really weird & crude, & she's a very obnoxious drunk. I hope to never see her again. I don't care how amazing her skills are. Her personality is awful.

I think that Kate knew exactly what she was doing when she recommended her for the show. Rachel is a GREAT chef which makes her a strong contributor to the crew. She's also overly dramatic which makes for great TV.

I guess some people are pretty much allowed to do whatever they want as long as they are good at their job.
