Ok I'm totally fangirling here but started following Josiah on Insta and he posted a pic of him in the airport hotel asking if everyone liked Galley Talk. I commented that I loved it and wish he was able to join the crew, he liked my comment!

Just finished the reunion and man, Sunshine has still not shown any growth or sense of humor. He's such a little snot.

I give Chess a ton of credit, she showed a lot of character by not really hammering Rachel and Izzy. Both were quite snotty but Chess seemed to put it behind her...mentioned it but only when she was accused of "bullying" Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Sunshine are not people I would have wanted to work with...showed no growth. Rob...oh Rob, my fellow Canuck really gave me no reason to like him. Rob's a donkey.

You are so right Jules. But you could tell that Andy was annoyed, which I love. I mean here Sunshine is on the largest platform, with many viewers to talk about his mission in life, and he just blows it due to him being a spoiled baby. I wonder if he and Elizabeth have ever been told 'no' or that they aren't the best at something ever before this.
I quite like Chess, what the stews do is hard, and although she had some missteps, she also had very demanding guests, and having to micromanage Elizabeth took a lot of time and energy.
Rob is a donkey!

I do not understand how people like Shane and Rob come on a show like this having no clue what it's all about. Shane seemed shocked everytime he was asked to explain why he did what he did and respond to the audience. Izzy said Rob would avoid talking anytime the cameras were around, and found an excuse to avoid the reunion. I get that there are people who don't want their lives filmed - I'm one of them! But I don't go on reality shows. Why did they? I know Shane would say it was to spread awareness ... but if he's made the decision to take the trade off, he needs to live with it.
While I do put more blame on Elizabeth than Francesca for all their problems, I can't give Francesca a free pass. As a manager, she has to figure out how to reach each of the people she's leading. When she figured out what what she was doing with Elizabeth, she didn't really try any other management styles. Compare that to Eddie, a more experienced manager, who altered his style to each person. In addition, there were times when Fracesca gave mixed messages to Elizabeth which didn't help. She'd tell James to go help her with something, and then be surprised that the two of them were standing around talking instead of doing the task. Not smart!

Yes, but Francesca didn't even really try with her. I feel like Kate would have. In the next to last episode of Galley Talk Kate was pretty vocal that she thought firing Elizabeth was wrong. She didn't say much in the last episode.

My impression of Kate disagreeing with firing Elizabeth was that it was so late in the season there was no point. I thought her point was that it was more about revenge than improving the crew at that point. Of course, had she known Josiah was the replacement, she may have changed her tune!

Anyone watch the premier of the second season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht? I think this crew is going to be a hot mess. Already arguments between the chef and chief stew on when and where to have breakfast (with the chef disregarding what the clients want..). Oh boy.

It's hard to form an opinion on most of the cast members this early in the season; however, I do feel bad for Jean-Luc not being able to sleep well because of his height and the length of the cabin beds. It seems they get little sleep under the best circumstances. As this height/bed issue was mentioned several times in the first episode, I wondered if any of the cabin beds might be more generous in size and whether this was looked into for him to have such a cabin. I did get the idea that Jean-Luc is going to be the weakest link in the crew this season.
I felt bad for Natasha upon her arrival in the galley to find it was left in such disarray. I don't know if this is common or not (it probably is) but it took quite a bit of work to straighten it out and visually take inventory of what was there and where it was located.
I never knew the rules for working while on a sailboat vs. large yacht are different because of the rougher water conditions on a sailboat, i.e. not using an iron while sailing and the disaster in the galley when the cabinet emptied itself onto Natasha.
All in all, it looks like this will be a great season for us viewers. Love Captain Glenn.

It is going to take me a few weeks to get to know this crew to form opinions! I have a hard time when it's entirely a brand new crew! I spend half the time trying to remember what job each one has let alone their names or personalities!
I remember last season being surprised by all the motion that this yacht can have when sailing. It made me go from thinking a sailing yacht vacation would be wonderful to never wanting to go on one!

They are making decisions on their trip based on whether the sailing portion is in place and can possibly keel the boat. I agree with you, I don't know if it would be much of a vacation for me either. Power boat is looking more appealing to me .

I love to sail and would love one of these vacations. Although I wouldn't sneeze at a power yacht either. I take issue with the chef standing her ground and making them eat breakfast, I would much rather sail than have a sitdown breakfast. If I were a guest, that would make me mad. I'm not a breakfast person and I would much rather move! That poor drink of water, not fitting in the bed. I used to travel for business with a team of two men and they would be so jealous of how I could curl up on an airplane seat and sleep. Lack of height has some advantages I guess.

There have been so many people on these shows that have said breakfast is the hardest meal. It’s the one where guests usually get to ask for anything, you don’t know when they’ll want it, different people come at different times etc. I get it would be tough ... but the chefs job is to work around the guests wants!
Season 2 of below deck was replaying today on Bravo. It was so refreshing to see how much Ben understood it was his job to accommodate. He was certainly a diva chef in other ways. But when guests demanded things or changed their minds, he got that it was their prerogative to do so!

Good thing for all the accents! Speaking of which...what a diverse cast. Scottish, Australian, Canadian, Brazilian, American and more! I don't have any obvious "likes or dislikes" yet. So that's a plus!

Did you know Captain Lee & Sandy have no say as to who is cast on the show? They do have a say for key hires, I'm assuming chief stew, bosun as well as the people we seldom see. The rest are hired by BRAVO. Yes they do have to be certified at their position. Google it.
I'm also not buying that Elizabeth made mustard gas by mixing bleach with Tide. While mustard gas is made when you mix bleach with ammonia, Elizabeth used Tide which does not contain ammonia.
I think after Med & now this one I have outgrown Below Deck.

I’m realizing they cast two guys in this group that look more alike than the two on RHSLC who look just alike. What’s with Bravo casting all these wannabe twins???

Last night was the first time with Below Deck I ever contemplated just giving up. I won't, because I like Glen too much. But between all the crew looking alike and the Club Med atmosphere, I'm just not feeling it yet!

I’ve made a breakthrough distinguishing between the crew members! I started listening to accents instead of looking at faces and it’s helped!
I have to also say I love how Glen pitches in to help the crew - carrying provisions and suitcases. He’d be very justified to do other things while the crew does that. By pitching in he makes it really hard fir anyone else not to work hard!

This is the first time I am watching sailing lot and I LOVE Glen, I like how he is laid back (I love a man who reads in bed!) but also has command, I liked how he backed up the chief stew without taking over (take notes C. Sandy).
OMG, I was calling that guest some bad names when he was saying 'I have been quarantined and this is BS!' when he was told he had to stay in his cabin. I'm sorry, but you chose to vacation in a pandemic, so yeah, you have to take the consequences of doing that. Staying in a lux cabin for a bit is the least of your worries right now.
Also, I don't see the beauty of having someone unpack for me. It's like asking someone to brush my teeth for me.

Yes to all of that! Really starting to love Glen. I liked him last season but after getting to know him more this season I'm really loving him. I would never want someone unpacking for me...that's my stuff. Stay out! I would be pissed if someone did!

I was watching an old episode yesterday where a guest asked for a stew to unpack for him, and then when she started doing it he came in and told her not to unpack the suitcase she was, just the other one. How would she have known that???? And in this case, it wasn't the primary who asked for the unpacking - it was one of their guests.
I kind of think that's the difference between people who earn money and people who come into it. Those who earn money appreciate what it took to get it and don't demean other people making them do tasks they are fully capable of doing themselves.

Bravo is replaying the marathon today of the Below Deck Med season that first introduced Malia as a member of the deck crew and Bugsy as a second stew. It's kind of crazy to watch the criticisms that both of them throw out about Hannah - things that are totally unfounded like "She's ordering provisions instead of making beds". It's making me irritated all over again for what they did to her this past season! She was burned out and not doing as good a job as she'd done in the past. But for Malia and Bugsy, it was 100% personal.

Bravo has been having a BF marathon all month. Got me thinking who my dream crew would be. Granted not taking into account rank. They could all be chief stew and bosun as far as I’m concerned, lol! But here’s mine Captain-Captain Lee, duh! Interior Kate Josiah Aesha Exterior Eddie Ashton Ross Connie Almost forgot the Chef! I would have to pick Rachel, need a little crazy in there! Let’s hear yours!

I am in the middle of watching tonight's episode and I feel like I have to stop. I literally don't want to hear that man complain or even speak one more time. Relax, my goodness! Enjoy the view. Kick your feet up. Take a hot tub. Have a nap. I swear all I have seen them do is gather around that table and complain about the food. Mind you...Natasha was way off on the poached egg vs eggs benedict thing. If you want a benny, you order a benny. If you want just a poached egg, you will say so. He also ordered baked beans and they weren't on the first plate at all.
Either way...dude, SHUT UP!

Completely agree! He's teaching his kids how to be demanding and lack gratitude instead of giving them chances to enjoy the world! And I think he showed his true colors when Glen went to check on them, and suddenly everything was fine and they were enjoying everything. I think that if they'd really complained to Glen, he would have kindly told them that the yacht has only one chef, and they need to make a choice between ordering anything they want for everyone and having it all together and perfect because a single person can't do both. But as soon as they were faced with someone who had the power to explain things, all the complaining went away! I hope some of those kids encounter other influences in their lives who can help teach them kindness and gratitude. But I have a feeling the daughter whose boyfriend dumped her for the dad is not going to be one to ever learn that!
Once again impressed with Glen's subtlety! Still haven't figured out everyone's names, but I loved that when the bosun was trying to get out of helping out by dressing up taking to the chief stew, Glen quickly batted down his excuse, and then asked if he'd done that to let him know he was on to him without correcting him in front of everyone.

Yes! I loved when Glen did that. I mean, look how happy the guests were when you showed up in drag. I get you are busy, but everyone is busy, and if you have time for a smoke, then you have time to help out. I can't stand 'not my job' people.
Speaking of 'not my job'...I am so glad my job isn't a chef to 9 people whose tastes run from lobster to chicken nuggets. Insane. I swear all the primary does is sit and wait for food and complain about waiting for food.
I still don't understand, the daughter was dating a guy and now he is dating her dad? And now her dad is going to propose to him? Did I get that correct? I don't understand how that could possibly happen and it's all kinds of wrong. Poor daughter.
