I liked that they acknowledged the awkwardness between Eddie and Rachel coming back together after having watched last season. Sometimes it seems like they try to pretend there's not a TV show aspect to what they are doing. I appreciate that they didn't pretend there.

This had been pretty much revealed back in that season. At the time, Eddie had a girlfriend he was going to break up with when he got home. He cheated on her with Rocky but was keeping it quiet, and then Rocky got antsy and started revealing it to everyone. I remember at the reunion they talked about what a great place the laundry room is for hook ups.

I'm so glad Captain Sean is only temporary, wow! I do like Heather, way better than Francesca that's for sure. I like Rachel too so I'm glad she's back. If anything her cooking is amazing. Not sure on the deckhands yet but I'm glad Eddie is back. First episode was very chaotic!

That's a great point Juls - this captain may very well be more of a cross over captain. That would make sense. I do think Eddie truly has grown in to being the best in his role. His leadership style comes across as laid back but he's truly in control. He also does a great job of not complaining down - during the whole beach set up we knew from the interviews he was frustrated, but he wasn't letting it rub off on the crew. Fraser rubbed me the wrong way. I think this Chief Stew is very competent and was doing a good job of letting them know what to expect, but he seemed ready to nitpick every little detail. She could have been all over him for the fact that he caused the primary's complaints about her room, but she kept it top level and just told him expectations. It seems like in the past he's worked on larger crews where he's been able to be more hyperfocused. If he's watched two episodes of Below Deck, he knows that's not the case on a yacht like this! I think you are right. I looked at Fraser sideways when he told Heather to just let him do housekeeping and that being called away for service is distracting to him. Say what?!? Every single stew has to be called away for service. That's pretty much a job requirement. I have a feeling that at some point in the season we are going to see him get demoted from 2nd stew. I felt like Heather gave it to him a little early. I would want to see my crew in action first.

That's one of those pro-moves that shows Heather hasn't watched enough of the show! Notice Eddie said he hoped to have a lead deck hand soon - he didn't name one. The pros know you have to see performances before you give the title!

Ok Bravo may piss me off in many ways at times (Padma and Andy Cohen namely) but this is gold: Come back to me Boat Daddy!I am still out on the interior crew, I am not loving the Chief Stew yet, I know that Kate has given her stamp of approval so I hope that means she gets better, or is at least better than Francesca. It is hard to watch her mouth when she talks, it is almost like she has some type of injection that is migrating its way out of her lips. The time spent on lime segmenting was a bit OTT for me, I guess she didn't want another box of citrus mush like SImone in Season 7. I like Fraser so far, his comments to himself, under his breath are what I live for so far since the other stew is, for lack of anything else to say about her, just there. The deckies looks solid so far, and I do like seeing Eddie back (I have almost fully forgiven him for the Rocky lapse of judgement). I DO like seeing Rachel back in the galley, she added a lot of flavor (pardon the pun) to the charters, but I could honestly do without "Off-charter" Rachel. I hope that the bad blood with her and Eddie is cleared up soon, or it could be very miserable in that galley this go-around. The Temp Capt is a bit of a character. I think he kind of came with the boat in a way. My Seanna was just sold this past year, Capt Sean was actually the broker for the sale (from Apollo to Worth Ave Yachts) and he is also a Captain for WAY too... so he may have been bringing the boat back to the area for the sale and ended up in the right place at the right time to get a few moments in the limelight. Given he is a broker it makes a bit more sense to me why he is so nit-picky in his staging, it is his sales focused mind.

FireWoman Heather to me looks like a young Beverly D'Angelo I have see many saying a younger Sarah Paulson, I can kinda see it. I think Beverly D'Angelo (who oddly enough, middle name is Heather, lol) was far, FAR better looking in her youth than Heather is. If anything I can see how she resembles an older Beverly. I just am not warming to her yet, I have such a hard opinion of Chief Stews. I loved Daisy (BDSY) and I really liked Katie on Med this past season.. she was a nice change of pace from Hannah who I did like but she has her issues too. I sooooo HATED Jenna, Adrianne, and Francesca so anyone is an improvement on them. I know Kate has a lot of fans out there but sjes middle of the road for me, she IS a mean girl and does let her jealousy cloud her judgements but she DID know how to do her job. I just always felt her people management skills were piss-poor; Lee lets her get away with far too much. So much of what she did in her later seasons makes me cringe. I felt that she brought out the worst in 'Siah too, I would have loved to see him as a Chief Stew, I think his butler training would serve him so well I like him so much more without Kate to influence him.

I'm still trying to remember Francesca. I remember her face and remember her voice. But I don't remember enough about the job she did good or bad to remember why so many people disliked her.

My favourite Chief Stews are Hannah, Daisy, Francesca and Katie. Didn't like my fellow Canuck Jenna AT ALL. Kate was solid entertainment but agreed she was a mean girl...usually deserved but hard to watch.
My first impression of Heather is that she wants to be seen as a hard ass. If being a hard ass is her idea of being a good leader, I'll be disappointed. Too much of her seeming to be impressed by herself...she talked too big of a game to start. We'll see how that turns out.

I'm still trying to remember Francesca. I remember her face and remember her voice. But I don't remember enough about the job she did good or bad to remember why so many people disliked her. She was last season, Kate's replacement, it was her only season.. and she fired her 2nd Stew for being a moron because she was unable to find a way to manage her. Kate even called her out on some social media platform that at least she (Kate) never fired a Stew, she found a way to work with them and not totally give up on them. Franchesca had her first Stew leave interior to go work on deck.. Izzy.. then her firing Elizabeth because she was slow on the uptake. She was also crying in the wheelhouse day one after a Charlie charter (fresh in my mind, just watched that one hehe). She was just so short with and unwilling to help Elizabeth to the point of it was hard to watch at times and always in with Lee kavetching about her.

I think in her time on the show, Kate transformed from a chief stew who was filmed for TV to a reality TV star. She started putting more effort into the funny commentary she'd give in interviews - things like choosing a font for each crew member - than she did organizing the interior crew. It makes her fantastic on Galley Talk - but it was time for her to go when she did. She probably should have gone a season or two earlier.

I had to google Francesca Funny how she was on just last season and yet totally forgettable. But now that you (Firewoman) mentioned Elizabeth I do remember the scenario. It was tough to watch. I didn't like either of them. Elizabeth's whine drove me up the wall. I'm glad neither of them returned. I'm a die hard for both Kate and Hannah. Their time was definitely up...but I loved them both. Kate's dry humor matches mine so I would chuckle at her antics all the time. She made her job look so effortless too. Seeing these new Chief Stews made me realize that so much more. She did her job well and with sass. I would really like to see Josiah back.

I do love him on Galley Talk, ironically I like Kate far more on there then I did when she was on the show as CS. She is also with Ben, who I simply adore, so I am sure that helps. I don't hate Kate per se, she is just more middle of the road for me. I think there are better CSs out there as far as being able to manage people and the duties of the job. Maybe we will see a 'Siah resurgence like we did of Eddie Him with Fraser would be a riot!!!

I can’t stand Heather the chief stew as of right now. I didn’t like her last week, & this week didn’t change my mind.
And her mouth is so weird when she talks. I find it distracting.
The deck crew is WILD! I think it’s gonna get messy with the hook-ups!

Oh Captain Lee. It was like a father or grandfather figure returned or something. I felt all warm and happy inside It also hit me when he said he had AFib. So did my dad. Captain Lee better be taking care of himself!!! I love his new look! #boatdaddy I really enjoy his relationship with Eddie. I love how it has grown over the years and how Eddie is now 1st officer and trusted with knowing Capt Lee's medical issues. There was an underlying conversation that was had with just the "are you kidding me I'm gonna treat you harder" then a hit on the arm and a "see ya Cap" They are giving me all the feels! The comments from both Eddie and Captain Lee when Captain Chaos left were also great! "Now get off my boat!" "Maybe someday we'll do the crossing together" I'm still stuck on Fraser thinking it's out of the norm to be pulled away from cleaning rooms to do service?!? Am I crazy? Rayna and whatshisface = a bad drunken night decisions. The next charter looks nuts!

Good to have Cpt Lee back. Not feeling Heather. Not feeling Fraser. Both have their chests out regarding how great they are at their jobs instead of proving how great they are at their jobs. Fraser's constant chirps regarding Heather have already gotten old, especially when he couldn't seem to do a good job on the master cabin. The MASTER Cabin. Heather...has a new crew, it's the first charter...why wouldn't she take a look at the guest cabins after Fraser said they were done to make sure that they were done to her standards? After the primary complained about the trash bag, why wouldn't she make sure Fraser received the feedback and checked to make sure the primary had nothing to complain about?
So instead of being mortified by her own behaviour last season, Rachel is angry at Eddie??? Rachel may be a fantastic chef but her personality is explosive. Like trying to live with hand grenade.
Oh the deck crew is going to be messy lol Hope they are likable.

I can SORT OF understand Rachel's issue with Eddie, and don't think being mad at him means she doesn't reconize she behaved badly. She seems to be upset that Eddie said a lot of stuff in interviews and behind her back that he didn't say to her face. She seems to be the kind of person who comes out and says it. So I can understand that she'd struggle to trust Eddie when he's shown he's not a come out and say it person.

Those guests!! I'm getting a little tired of Fraser and Jessica's comments under their breath. Don't get me wrong, Heather isn't my favorite. I can't stand the singing replies she gives the guests. But she really isn't a terrible chief stew. On WWHL Fraser said Heather didn't do enough work. So far...I'm not seeing that. More tomorrow.
