Did Sandy get all of her friends to sign up for charters so she could pretend to be rich herself? I can't believe she didn't help her crew hump all that gear and food up that mountain. It looked terrible!

And a low tip at that!
Even that clam boil was a lot of work. Also, I don't think Hannah is blowing off anything. She's a Chief Stew so she has paid her dues to be more guest facing and manage things. I wish they knew Sandy was the one that wanted them to do the picnic.
Please, more Colin!!!

Oh Brooke. 🙄 Hannah is not without her faults, but I’m still team Hannah on this one. I think that 99 times out of 100, when an employee starts keeping score on what a manager is doing and who is working harder, they are going to be wrong. A great manager doesn't show all the stuff that he/she is doing to make life easier for their team. There's some things that can be shown to inspire someone, but there is a lot that is done without a lot of flare. So Brooke is making her assessment without having full knowledge of what Hannah is doing ... and she's pissing Hannah off by criticizing her. Smarter to just count the number of days until they're done and move on.

The other one I thought was interesting last night was Capt Sandy unknowingly undermining Conrad when he had corrected Joao about fraternizing with the guests, and then Joao went to Sandy for validation that he'd done nothing wrong. I want to like Sandy, but I see so many mistakes in her management style! First, she makes it hard on Hannah and Conrad because she's not consistent with her rules. She wants everyone doing whatever it takes to keep guests happy, but then will challenge the actions of some crew members to do whatever it takes. Then, she ignores there being a line of command between her and the crew in Conrad and Sandy, and figures she can step in anytime to encourage or reprimand the other guests. Common errors, but it's time for Sandy to learn to be better. If she sees a problem with a crew member, she should mention it to Hannah or Conrad and let them correct it. If she sees great work, she should tell Hannah and Conrad, and perhaps join them in recognizing the work. She allows crew members like Joao to divide and conquer the leadership by not enpowering her middle managers.

While I don't think Hannah is quite as bad as Brooke is making her out to be, she does seem to be dropping the ball a lot and not pulling her weight. I mean we saw her pull Brooke off helping Kasey with cabins to help with dinner service and then you cut to Hannah eating in the galley and talking to Adam while Brooke is pouring drinks. I also couldn't believe she didn't help at all with cleanup after dinner. I think it's things like that that are annoying Brooke. I agree that Hannah has paid her dues and shouldn't have to scrub toilets or make beds anymore, but she shouldn't be standing gossiping while "her" job of serving the guests is being done by someone else.
Sandy is ridiculous. I can't believe she didn't foresee the problems of only sending deck hands on a guest outing. Hannah forgetting to pack vodka or not, poor Colin didn't even know how to make the Bloody marys like the guests wanted. It doesn't have to be Hannah, but they need to send someone whose job is to serve the guests on every outing. At least the guests weren't overly annoyed by it.

I agree that Hannah may be slacking off. But the way we are seeing it is really hard to tell if she's truly slacking off, or if it's being edited to look that way.
I still think the biggest mistake Sandy is making is that she's making decisions on things that she has no business deciding. Hannah and Conrad should be deciding who goes with guests on an outing, or how many people need to go. They are the department heads, and know all the tasks that their department needs to complete on a given charter. They know the rotation of breaks. They are tuned in to the big picture for each of their departments with more detail than Sandy knows about. If a guest is unhappy with service, Sandy should talk to Hannah or Conrad about that problem. But she has no business micromanaging to the level she is. She's creating problems rather than fixing them!

I couldn't agree more!
Also, what a loony that charter guest is! He as all these rhyming phrases. He's a motivational speaker? Saying when you bless the food it changes it's molecules? What a snake oil man. Creepy!

I'm fed up with the Jaoa/Kasey/Brooke triangle or whatever it is. I can't believe it lasted so long this season, it's been very redundant. I felt bad for Colin. Brooke would rather go for a loser I guess.

Colin is such a sweetheart. PLUS he's better looking. It blows my mind.
Why doesn't Hannah just go to Prague on her own? Didn't she say she'd been wanting to for about 5 years? I don't know why she was messing with Conrad's head when she's just working on these yachts to shop for a rich husband.

My opinion on Hannah has really dropped these past few episodes. In all her lamenting about Prague this week, it did seem like the only value she saw in Conrad was someone to help carry her bags in Prague. She reduced him to a means to an end, and I respect him for not being manipulated by it. I think you're right pretlitdev - if she wants to see Prague that much, she should go by herself. It would be enpowering. And who knows - maybe she'd find a 50 year old recently divorced millionaire while she was there on her own.

Hannah treats Conrad like crap. He does the stand-up thing and instead of continuing to try to string it along, says, it's not working we just need to end it.
Then she goes back to him being like, let's still go to Prague.
Honey. He straight up told you it was over. You're just making yourself look stupid and weak.
Conrad never tried to pretend to be something he's not.

I really like Conrad and he is so much more mature than Hannah. I liked his 'we will go if we don't fight for 2 days'. That made sense to me.

I quit watching because of Joao and Kasey. I couldn't see how two people found Joao attractive. I did like Colin and Conrad. They seem to be really annoying this year. I am ready for the Caribbean to start.

It feels like they very carefully set up the next season of Below Deck Mediterranean in the end of tonight's episode. Capt Sandy told Hannah she'd gladly work with her again, and would give her all her energy. She told Joao that she'd gladly work with him as her Bosun. And Conrad kind of declared yachting is not for him by saying he doesn't want the long term commitment to a job that means no family. Seems pretty clear that when Hannah returns for a new season with Capt Sandy next year, she's going to be shocked and dismayed to discover that Conrad is the Bosun!

I'm not a huge fan of the show any more, but I'd tune in to see Hanna and Conrad again, especially with their new dynamic as ' frenemies with chemistry.' And I really LIKE Conrad. I think he's a good guy and a total cutie, as well.

I think that Sandy has an over the top empathy for the underdog. It's a nice quality to have, but gets in the way of being an effective leader on a yacht.

I so enjoyed the reunion!
I thought it was super mean of Captain Sandy to say to Conrad 'you will never make it' she also mentioned his age....again!!! That's not leadership, that's just being mean. And of Conrad was being lazy, you know full well the cameras would have picked up on that and his crew would have complained.
I also liked how she said 'I was in the Suez Canal when they were all in the birth canal' and Adam said 'how long did it take you to rehearse that?'

What really bugged me about Sandy insisting that Conrad had no business taking breaks was that it did not appear that she ever said anything about that to him during the time they were working together. Sandy understands the concept of laying out expectations then holding people accountable. She's talked about it. Conrad seemed genuinely surprised at the thought that he was not allotted breaks during his work. So Sandy has no qualms in stepping in to dictate that dinner service should be done with a crew member watching the table at all times to respond to needs (when her friends are the guests), has no hesitation in telling people exactly how to handle putting toys in the water, etc. But when it comes to the work ethic of her direct reports, she keeps it to herself and mentions it at the reunion? That is a sign of crappy leadership!
