Depends on what type of implants as well. I remember New York was on Botched because of similar issues and they took the implants out, gave her a lift, and restructured her breasts so that they looked fabulous even without the implants. New York also had a lot of breast tissue even with the implants so that might make a difference as well; Christina is more slender so she might not get the same effect.

Oh, it that why she looked so different (much better in my opinion and younger) and refreshed because she removed the undereye filler.

Christina on the Coast - I rather liked the dark (black? Navy blue?) cabinets she used in the kitchen this time, with a natural wood colored island. Bathrooms were cute. I thought the pool table looked goofy taking up all that space, but the husband was dead set on that thing not going anywhere. I'm glad they went with LVP instead of engineered wood, too. I wish I'd done the same in my living room. So Christina and #3 are going to move into a new "forever house." I felt bad for the kids, they didn't seem to be thrilled at moving yet again. Hi waywyrd just saw this epi. Dumbest thing I have ever seen. That POOL TABLE. They have 3 small daughters who basically have to play in the living room. And when they are done for the day shove all their toys in those new cabinets. Get rid of that pool table and use that space for something THE WHOLE FAMILY can use.

They snuck in a new episode of The Nate and Jerimiah Project. They were in their new house which used to be their old house from before moving to California. I like that they listen to their clients and for $120,000 got new siding and windows for the house redid the kitchen, dining, living rooms, as well as finished the entire basement. This is so much more satisfying than watching and listening to Christina spent $100,000 on two very small bathrooms, one about 5'x8' and the other smaller than that.

Not content to spread her greyness all over Southern California, Christina is now in a show about renovating homes in Tennessee. Okay?
I was thinking about HGTV quiet quitting "Outgrown" and was wondering if there were any other shows that received the same treatment and apparently "Home Again with the Fords" is in the same "will they renew or not" limbo. I guess if you're not Hometown, Good Bones, Love it or List it, or a Property Brother or David Bromstead your show goes into the purgatory pile.
Also, this years edition of "Brother vs Brother" just started and I was pleasantly surprised that Drew Scott and his wife Linda now have a son named Parker who is a cutie! He's not on the show but they showed pictures of the bb. I can just imagine Jonathan as the "fun uncle."

I agree with you, but the good news is that, for those of us (like me ) who are late to all of the great shows on the HGTV channel, HGTV is always rerunning old episodes of current and cancelled series, so that we do get to see many of them, eventually.

Brother vs Brother:
I have to admit I like the standalone shows like this over their regular, client based shows like "Property Brothers: Forever Home" because a lot of their clients have no imagination and either want everything white or in a beige color palette and it's boring. They use so much more color and imagination in their personal work, it's fun to watch. This week they worked on the kitchens, and I don't know if it's having a new son or what but Drew has experienced some changes in his life that is clearly showing up in his work; once the more sophisticated conservative brother, he's really been leaning into color and quirkiness in a way that's really great. Jonathan is changing as well; he's reigned in his excesses and his colors and designs are more sophisticated and subtle. They got the chef Alex Guarnaschelli and interior designer Veronica Valencia to judge both spaces blind and Alex LOVED Drew's kitchen because not only did he think of the design, he thought of how someone with some serious cooking chops would use their kitchen and designed accordingly with shelves and drawers easy within reach, and the checkerboard stove hood was darling. Jonathan's kitchen was beautiful too but in a different way, more sleek and sophisticated, but it's very much a kitchen to LOOK at and say "damn, that's a nice kitchen" but you might not necessarily feel comfortable cooking in it. I loved Drew's kitchen and was very happy he won this week.

Bearcata I'm kind of tired of hearing about the lot of them, too. Also kind of tired of HGTV's shows. I caught part of Christina in the Country this week and while I was happy there was a bit of grayish-blue in the kitchen, I'm just so tired of all the white and gray everywhere. It all looks the same: boring. I used to have HGTV on the tv a lot. Now I struggle to find anything interesting...

I'm still watching Hometown and truly, Laurel is an anomaly in Mississippi. Over the past few weeks they've had people move there from Chicago, someone who already lived here opening a BnB because of tourist overflow (apparently a LOT of people are visiting now because of the show), a family from California, I think? As well as one of the designers on the show purchasing their first home. It seems like a diverse town where people get along that attracts an extremely eclectic and artistic crowd? Good for Laurel and other small towns who have reinvented themselves, and so far it seems to be escaping the Waco curse (where the real estate increased massively, pricing out many long term residents).

Christina in the Country - well damn, that was sad. The poor woman didn't live long enough to enjoy her new kitchen and bath. The look of horror on Christina's face when the homeowners said they wanted alll the cabinets dark green, though! Ha. She tried to push them to white cabinets with a green island, but they were adamant. She did get her way with a white/gray bathroom. Boo. I will say that husband #3 seems like a decent guy. Even with the 50's greaser hair.

That white/grey trend is everywhere. I've been looking at a lot of rowhouses/townhomes/lofts in Philadelphia and you can tell the "developer specials" because the all have the black railings leading to the second floor, light grey paint on the walls, and all white kitchens with white subway tile backsplashes. Sometimes they decided to get interesting and put light grey lower cabinets in. The bathrooms are also light grey as well. It makes every house look the same and it's boring as hell; as soon as the pictures load on Zillow if I see any of that I'm on to the next house. While you can always repaint who wants to pay top dollar for something you want to rip out and start over?

Christina in the Country - yikes, I hated that black countertop with the orangey-gold veins. Black cabinets, black backsplash, black counters. Just a little too dark for me. If that kitchen wasn't so open to the rest of the house, it would have been a cave. I saw the ad for The Flipping El Moussas coming up and I don't know if I'll be able to sit through that one.

Check out deVOL Kitchens www.devolkitchens.com/. They are a high end kitchen cabinet out of England. While I used to love white kitchens, I am not a white on white on white like so many people. I want color and texture. I have never liked really dark cabinets but if it is a really good design with black cabinets I would do it. The deVol colors are more traditional English (dark) but they are lovely and I WANT them. Love the green tile. Love the teal color on their cabinets.

Bearcata now those cabinets are pretty! I love that green tile too. I don't mind white cabinets overall, but I need some color and/or wood accents to liven it up. White on white on white is just so BORING.

The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project: It's back, and all I have to say is these guys are miracle workers because how do you make a tiny Cape Cod house work for six people? It was a good thing they had the unused space in the basement for N&J to utilize because otherwise...whew! The dining room was a catch all space (kids play area, art studio for the eldest, office for Dad, and a "chill" spot for Mom) and the kitchen had a layout that made it even more small and cramped. The living room (which they liked) was cramped with a bunch of unnecessary stuff as well. By dividing the workable basement space in half they were able to create a play area for the younger children as well as an art space for the eldest and office for dad, and then a nice family room so the entire family could kick back and watch TV. By moving all of those things to the basement N&J were able to give them a proper dining room with a lovely bay window with a pillowed seat where the wife could sit and read. They pushed back the wall in the living room to make more space in the kitchen in addition to slightly changing the layout and giving them additional storage which made a huge difference between being "cozy, but manageable" and "cramped and horrible." The kitchen was white with a gray marble countertops but I didn't mind because they used shades of white that were flattering as opposed to that nasty flat bright white that all the developers use. And even though the homeowners said it was fine they even spruced up the living room with fresh paint and some new furnishings.
What was really nice about this episode is you really got the sense that the new layout and improvements was a huge game-changer for the owners, especially considering that they grew up in the area and considered the place their "forever home." I love N&J, their little family, and their approach to design. Looking forward to next week!

A new trend I'm noticing is the usage of zellige tile in bathrooms. Zellige tile is a glazed handcrafted in Morocco. Because of its nature each tile is unique in glaze, color, and texture which adds to a more dimensional look instead of flat subway tiles. Erin and Ben used green zellige tiles in the bathroom in the most recent episode of Hometown and the whole effect was beautiful, while Johnathan and Drew used blue ones in the most recent episode of Property Brothers: Forever Home. I would love to have it in my bathroom because you have all the different variety of shade and texture with the individual tiles, it's really nice.

The Flipping El Moussas - I almost turned the channel five minutes in when he was making noise about his new Stepford wife obeying him and agreeing with whatever he wants to do while she giggled and played the dumb blonde. Gawd. BUT I liked the house they were going to do, it reminded me of the house in Bosch with that killer view. I wasn't impressed with her "design" at all. It was a mid-century modern that she put all white cabinets in, dark gray shower tiles in one bath and hideous beige 4 x 4 tiles in another shower. The fireplace was just a weird box on a pedestal, no idea what that was supposed to be. I didn't love it. The best part was Tarek trading insults with people on Twitter who didn't like the show or insulted Heather. Several comments about people missing Christina.

Not meaning to compare women here but it really seems like Christina is the better designer of the two because all of that sounds horrible in a MCM home. I'm not here for people insulting Heather but lol at people straight up saying they missed Christina because you know that makes Tarek angry.

Ok, I watched and the whole vibe was weird? It really seems like he's trying to rub his happiness in Christina's face; it was very "Yay, I got a young pretty wife who is pregnant with my child and I've replaced you in every way; take that, Christina" that was really uncomfortable to watch. In addition to that there was lots of talk of "I'm gonna teach you everything you need to know to flip houses" and every time Heather would say something that indicated she was an adult with a working brain he talked over her. So many red flags...*sigh*
That was a beautiful MCM home with a wonderful view that she managed to make dark as hell? That dark gray patterned wallpaper. The beige tiles. That sad lil fireplace that was like a box on the wall. The...everything. Remember in a past post I said I was looking at rowhouses in Philly and unfortunately all the flip houses looked the same with shades of gray? This is exactly how this house looked, down to the black railings on the staircase and the white kitchen. It didn't surprise me that this house didn't sell despite the wonderful view because the people who love MCM and will pay any price wouldn't be interested in a home that's been altered this much; houses like MCMs, Craftsman, and Victorians need a little more love, care, and research to be renovated; not treated like your average 350k flip. Just out of coincidence I watched another HGTV show where a couple were trying to flip a Craftsman, and after discovering the tiles from the fireplace mantel they removed and broke were actually worth $200 a tile they wisely stopped and had a professional look at the house and determine what should go and what should stay in the home. There was wonderful built-ins, trim, etc that they opted to keep, and the improvements they made were actually an updated version of what would go into that type of home. I think this house was in the 2 million range as well but it SOLD, precisely because it still have the charm and characteristics of a Craftsman.
Just to compare I also watched the last ten minutes of the latest episode of Christina's show and I can honestly say I liked it better, despite the black kitchen? Christina took advantage of all the windows in the kitchen as well as a lighter paint color in areas of the kitchen/dining area so all the black wouldn't be overbearing. It also had a very masculine feel with pops of femininity that were nice; the thing with Christina is I can say while her design style isn't my cup of tea I don't doubt her design abilities. I hated everything Heather did with that MCM. I'm really spoiled because a good friend of mine has an MCM that she's updated while keeping a lot of the original features that made the house beautiful so I know it can be done (her handle is atomichaus on Instagram if you want to check it out).

Since she has 3 kids under the age of 6 the studios pay her to hire a cleaner to come in and clean and arrange things before the shoots, lol. Since she also has a lot of MCM/mod furnishings they often opt to shoot the entire house (as opposed to emptying out the house for the shoots, then putting everything back in).
I'm glad I'm not the only person picking up on what Tarek is putting down because while watching I was like "Am I imagining this, or is this really coming across this way?" I never thought I would say this about Christina but she is easily the more likable of the two; sure she's licked some toads and gets married at the drop of a hat but from what I've seen she's gone on with her life and other than co-parenting with Tarek doesn't pull stunts like this? I know there's two sides to every story but I'm willing to bet she wasn't the problem in that marriage, and I'm glad she got away from toxicity. Heather also seems to encourage this nonsense so she is also to blame. "Oh look, I got a bigger ring than your ex!" Girl...

HGTV needs to change up their shows and get new people. I watch very little of HGTV anymore.
