I still think the best season so far was the asylum. I thought the most recent season was about average. The episode with man hater Lena dunham was terrible though. Is the new season supposed to be a crossover between previous ones?

This is what I found on Wiki: On January 12, 2017, the series was renewed for an eighth season, set to premiere on September 12, 2018. Murphy has announced the season will be set 18-months in the future, in October 2019, and will feature an Asylum and Coven tone. Initially, Murphy stated that the ninth season would most likely be the crossover season between Murder House and Coven, but the eighth season was chosen instead. A crossover season was first announced on October 30, 2016.Filming for the season began on June 16, 2018.
I LOVED Asylum. Hard call for me to pick between Asylum and Freak Show as my favorite. Hotel was pretty good too, I loved Lady Gaga in it. Roanoake was one of my least favorite, and I don't think we even watched all of Cult. The series has seemed to slowly slide in these last few seasons. Hopefully season 8 will be an improvement!

I love Asylum too, it's still my fav season, the recent seasons were decent and I thoroughly enjoyed Roanoke and Cult, Hotel was ok, but I think the first 2 seasons are still the best.

Anyone watch the premiere last week? I almost forgot about it, I just happened to be watching something on FX and saw the promo that it started that night. I do think it was one of the better premieres they've had...definitely some strange stuff going on.

Coven is my all time fave. It holds a special place for me because it got me hooked on AHS. Hotel was freaky but the ending was so sweet and so touching! *vaclempt!* Roanoke bored me to the point that I stopped watching and skipped cult because of Roanoke. Apocalypse is dragging me back! Thank goodness!

Asylum is my all time favorite. I skipped Cult because of the subject matter last year. Is the new season worth checking out? I heard it was a Murder House/Coven mashup and while I enjoyed Murder House, Coven took some turns in the middle of it and turned into a mess.

I've watched the first 2 episodes of Apocalypse...frankly I'm not really feeling this season yet, but I'll continue to watch because I love AHS so much, there are some aspects of the first 2 episodes that I really like, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are great as always, and I'm really enjoying Cody Fern's character too, I find their characters to be the most interesting so far. The premise is slowly growing on me and I like that they are making this season a sort of "crossover" with Murder House and Cult.

this season is getting more interesting now that the witches from Coven have appeared, the last 2 episodes have been great and I love that little Murder House reference at the end of this week's ep. Looking forward to next week's ep, hopefully it'll have more references to Murder House...

I loved Seasons 1-4. Then Seasons 5-7 got too bizarre for me. Was not a fan. I'm happy with this seasons cast and Murder House/Coven crossover. I am going to wait to binge watch once the season is over. Glad your liking it!

This season's storyline isn't all that gripping for me, but I LOVED getting a performance of "Gypsy" by Stevie Nicks in the middle of this week's show.

Stevie's performance made that whole episode, I love her. I am enjoying the ties to Murder House and Hotel - two of my favorite seasons - even though several of the plot points are confusing. But, that's how this series rolls. I see Jessica Lange is coming back next week...she's always fun to watch.

Season 1-4 never confused me. Season 5-7 confused the hell out of me! It's why I couldn't stick with it.
Anyone else feel this way? Or have they always been equally confusing for you?

I was bored watching episode 4. I didn't really care to see domestic abuser Emma roberts come back and also Coco's voice is so annoying.

this week's ep was the best so far this season, it was great to see the characters from Murder House back, and we got to learn more about Michael. And I have to say I think Cody Fern is doing a marvelous job as Michael so far this season, there's so many incredibly talented actors among the AHS regular cast, and as a newcomer who only just joined AHS this season, I've been pleasantly surprised by Fern's acting, he really holds his own amongst the others.

Agreed!!!! And how great was it to see Jessica???? I also spied Pepper!
Although I wished I remembered Murder House because I am lost on some things: 1. Who is the baby that the couple are taking care of and why didn't they speak for all of those years as ghost? 2. Why is it important that the man is a 'tear jerker'?
Also, loved the call outs to the movie 'Damian' - the music and 'Pepper' calling out 'It's all for you Micheal, it's all for you!!'

What couple are you referring to? Do you mean Ben and Vivien? They were the main couple who moved into the house with their daughter in Murder House, Vivien was raped by the ghost of Tate and she became pregnant with twins...to different fathers. Michael was the product of Vivien's rape meaning he was the son of Vivien & Tate, while the other twin hence Michael's twin half-brother Jeffrey died at childbirth so his spirit remains a baby in the house, Jeffrey was the baby you heard crying in the ep, he was Vivien & Ben's son. And Ben was portrayed as emotional in the ep I think because of his many years of sadness that had accumulated from everything that had happened to his family; betraying his wife, his wife becoming pregnant with Tate's baby, his whole family being murdered including himself, Michael losing control and giving into the evil etc.

SO much going on in that finale last night. It did wrap up nicely, I think, and the ending left it open for the Antichrist to return if they want to go there again in the future. Loved seeing Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange show up one more time. And Cordelia's line to Michael right before she killed herself - Satan has one son, but my sisters are legion, motherf*****! - was one of my favorite things from the whole season.

I loved it too!!! Loved seeing Angela Bassett again. My theory is that the two geeks went through 23 and me to get the two people that would most likely produce a satan spawn. My one compliant was that I didn't have wine to drink because my heart was racing!!! Man, I'm sad it ended but I'll be able to go to sleep on Wednesdays better.

Binged this season and I loved it! It was finally back to what I love about AHS. I can't wait to see what Cody Fern does next. He killed it on American Crime Story and AHS. Murder House/Coven crossover was perfect. Angela Bassett popping up at the last second was the best surprise. Jessica Lange kicking Michael out of the house was everything. Madison Montgomery "Surprise Bitch". All so good.

Just finished AHS 8. It was INCREDIBLE!! However, I'm momentarily creeped out and hoping my son and his girlfriend (a black and white couple) don't get married and have a son!
.... Oh, I almost forgot, their names are Timothy and Emily!
Ergh!

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere this Fall.
The new season appears to be an homage to classic slasher movies of the 80s, complete with a masked killer and what looks like his own summer camp deep in the woods.

That was a pretty fun opener - loved all the 80's music and nods to the old slasher flicks. Matthew Morrison's character was...interesting.

This week's episode was nuts. How many killers are running around that camp?
