I am watching tonight's episode and spitting sparks. Genevieve, you do not decorate a room by pillaging from the homeowners' home. I realize $2,000 might not go that far with such a large room, but then get creative. The neighbor is giving her major push back.
Love John Gidding. Such a hunk but not digging his crew cut. Had no idea he held architecture degrees from BOTH Harvard and Yale. Handsome and smart, too.💙

I totally forgot it was Saturday night! It was on my DVR, so I'm watching now. Kind of bummed if Gen is plundering the rest of the house to decorate her room. That's not cool. Totally different if it's out in the garage or something, but not if it's part of the decor of another room.

I think they said that next week is the season finale. I wonder how the ratings have been.

I was surprised by the season finale announcement. It feels like the season just started! Maybe they did this as a test to see if there was still viewer interest. I'd love to see a longer season! Without Hildi. The fact that this season was so short makes me even more annoyed that she got two episodes.

As excited as I was for this show to return - watching the marathons, the two weeks of premiere reunion specials, etc I sadly must admit that my viewing has dropped off. If I'm home on Saturdays my normal routine is to watch a movie, and having this on has not been enough to break me of that. I'd like for it to continue - my failure to watch is not due to not liking the show. But I think they made it somewhat tough to succeed by putting it on Saturday nights.

A new season sans Hildi would be awesome.
I'll admit I don't watch it on Saturdays, the DVR is my friend.

Yep, DVR for me too. Even if I'm home, I don't remember that it's on. I always remember at like 11PM that it aired several hours earlier.

Season 10 premieres Saturday, March 16th at 8PM. Paige and all the designers are returning, except Genevieve, who has her own show "Stay Here" on Netflix and a possible Bravo show in the works as well.

Spoiled by all these good fix it shows, I did not enjoy last season as much as the original twenty years ago. I guess there is that tension there from Hildi and Doug. I only want to see happy homeowners. I liked seeing Vern; he explained feng sui principles in a helpful way.

The new season starts tonight. It's followed by While You Were Out. I don't remember that show. Tonight's TS will feature a 50s themed room and a 70s themed room.

I liked the 50s room better. I didn't like the frisbees on the wall or that color green. The 70s room reminded me more of a play room. I think it would work well in a basement.

I thought the Hildi scare was funny, actually. If I thought she was working in my house, I'd be scared too!!

Those colours Carter used screamed 70’s. I thought they should have picked that lamp in the Overstock tent that was 70’s. Didn’t like Carter’s mustashe though..lol
Only problem with the 50’s room ...she didn’t really give them storage for the kids toys.
I think While You Were Out was a Canadian show but I could be wrong. The orange room was ok but the other one I didn’t like at all. So dark for a basement. They didn’t even put all the gym equipment back in there.
Wish they would update at the end of the show to see if they changed anything. I remember them doing this on something.

I think While You Were Out was a Canadian show but I could be wrong. It was on TLC around a dozen years ago. So AFAIK, it was an American production.

I don't think I'm a fan of Carter as a designer. He always seems to do designs that are more of a gag than a sincere effort. I REALLY didn't like the face they put on the cushion. It's a fun joke for TV ... but not something to put in a room for people to continue to live in!

Are we talking about the reboot of While You Were Out that aired Saturday? That was TY PENNINGTON.

It was the second time I've seen so far that they used Carter as a designer instead of as a carpenter. He's a better carpenter.

I was confused b/c the reboot of WYWO also aired Saturday night on both TLC and HGTV.

Frank may be my favorite designer. I never thought of Beyonce as room decoration before. I can place Marie Antionette in history with historical fashions, but I never thought about people living today. I liked the color of Frank's room more, but neither room was scary horrible.

Liked Frank’s room better than Doug’s . Those long wall candle holders would be the first to go.

I agree. Frank's room was a great idea. Doug's room looked more like a stage set for a play than a real bedroom.

I didn't mind the colors used in either room, but the drapes and bedding fabrics were all so shiny. For me, that just looks tacky. Maybe it was just how the rooms were lit, but the beds, in particular, weren't attractive. In one room (maybe Doug's?), the mattress even looked weird - like it wasn't on the frame properly or something.
I'm watching the show, but I've found I'm a bit bored with it. It seems a bit too of a time and maybe that time has passed.

I didn't like either room, but I would not be able to relax in Hildi's room. There is too much going on. If I had to pick a room, I would pick Laurie's. Both couples were sweet.

I didn’t mind Laurie’s room. I see she still likes yellows. The head board was strange , glad she didn’t paint all the furniture.
The other room was bad but they really just have to repaint and cover the floor. She didn’t attach anything to the walls at least. Loved her prints in different colour, hated that couch even the pillows were bad on it.

Everything just looks so cheap and tacky. That couch in Hildi's room was bunching funny, and I didn't like seeing the nail holes in the headboard Laurie did. I know their goal is to keep it under $1000 and get it done in time, but it's just not fun. And outrageous isn't fun either. I'd rather have nice things, but fewer of them for the $1000 than a bunch of junk.
I didn't mind Laurie's fabric and wall color, but I cringed at painting all the woodwork.

I did not like hearing the homeowners helping Hildi out complain. Both said that the liked carnivals to get selected by the show. Do not complain.
