I also would like to see the scoring, a la the Olympics. I never really understood the scoring and didn't really care except these bots are very complicated and expensive now that it's not as cut and dry as it used to be. They rarely show the judges' cards, but I can tell you that there's 5 points for damage, 3 for control, and 3 for aggression, which adds up to 11, so no matter how you dole out the points, it can never be a tie. I did not agree with the Rotator vs Beta match, I think Rotator should've won it by getting 4 for damage, 2 for aggression, and 0 for control, making a total of 6 for them and 5 for Beta. Even if they were pinballing off of Beta's scoop, they were coming at them constantly.

Fascinating! I agree. I thought Rotator should have won as well. But that ruling didn't piss me off as much as the Huge ruling did.

Has anyone watched the spinoff show that's on the discovery plus app?
I was a little confused by some of the recent ads for it. While watching Battlebots on the discovery channel, one of the ads said that if you wanted to see the bot named Beta, you would need to get the discovery plus app, cause it would be exclusively on there. But then after the commercial break, Beta competed. lol And Beta was on an earlier episode this season as well. That must have been a mistake, unless I heard it wrong.

I think they are showing some of the battles on Discovery +, so if you want to see them, you have to pay for the streaming service. I'm really ticked off about this whole Discovery + as many shows are moving new episodes to it. I already get those channels, I pay for them with cable.... so now I have to pay extra?

Count me in on being ticked and a little nervous about Discovery +. We live in a very rural area with limited internet and satellite offerings. We use Verizon for our internet and chose Orby satellite TV for the price ($40 a month/no internet required). Love my Battlebots and will be extremely upset if it gets moved to Discovery + in the middle of the season. It's happening to other popular programs.
Streaming platforms aren't practical with cellular internet due to lack of speed and a data cap. Not to mention the additional $4.99-6.99 a month for an additional service.

Oh no, don't touch my Battlebots!!!! I have been so enjoying this season, I stopped watching for a while because they had so much filler and less robot fighting time. I will be seriously angry if they take it to Discover plus. I am not paying for another streaming service.

As far as I know, they are NOT touching the main tournament, and only a 6-episode side competition is being put behind the paywall. It’s true that a few robots only appear on the paywalled content, they got confused and named Beta as one of such robots.

If anyone's curious, the only "goliaths" that are actually exclusive to Discovery+ are Bronco, Son of Whyachi, and Icewave. And the "normal" bots exclusive to D+ are Black Widow, Deadlift, and Rampage. I don't know if obscure generic newbie robots will the be the decision point for any of you to buy a subscription, but there you go.

The bracket for the top 32 is out! You can print it out and write your own here: battlebots.com/bracket/Here's mine, I'd love to see everyone else's too:

I love it!! I have to do that too.
I see you have rotator as an upset. I can't believe how low a draw Tombstone is. I just hope Hydra doesn't win it all, I am still salty for the "win" with Huge. SMH.

SMH. This is a very topsy turvy season, with powerhouses like Rotator, Tombstone, and Witch Doctor getting ranked low because of a bad undercard.

Very topsy-turvey! I'm usually good at predicting the winner of the matches, but certainly not this season.

YAY!!!! Now that I have Discovery+, I found Battlebots under the "Discovery" channel in the stream. They have the three seasons starting with 2018 so while it isn't right "up to the minute" it satisfies my craving for heavy metal destruction.

I would've loved another match between Uppercut and Sawblaze for the finale. Or either of them against Whiplash. Those three were my favorites this last season and any of them winning would've been fine with me.

I'm just happy that Ribbot got as far as it did (what a match!) and that Hydra was ultimately defeated. I absolutely loved this season.

Looks like Discovery will be playing the Bounty Hunters tournament which ran on Discovery+.
