Not a fan of this family but if I had my bag stopped because my brother was a pervert I would be livid. Josh's perversity ruined it for everyone, unfortunately.

Has anyone watched "Shiny Happy People, Duggar Family Secrets" on Prime Video? It's a documentary on exposing the underbelly of the Duggar Family and the show 19 Kids and Counting. It also focuses on Bill Gotthard and the Institute in Basic Life Principals teachings. Jill (and her husband Derrick) is the only Duggar child to speak out on this documentary but we know that Jinger has also said some things in the past. Amy Duggar (the niece) and her mom and husband also get interviewed along with many people who have left the IBLP. We all knew something wasn't right in that family for a long time. Then the Josh scandal broke and it was all confirmed. But there is just so much more. From the kids not receiving any payment for being on the show for all those years to being tricked into signing contracts, to having to hide their abuse and so on. Those poor girls. I'm going to watch it at a time when I can handle the content, because some of the things they talk about are truly graphic and terrible. We also found out that Jim Bob was the only person holding the bag as he took payment for all the kids appearing on the show but barely gave them money. I mean, even Kris Jenner split that Kardashian show money into trust funds for the kids (which was what initially gave Kylie the seed money to get her lipkits off the ground). Both Jim Bob and Michelle are horrible, terrible people, and that cult they're in is way worse.

We watched it. We've been disappointed in so many "Christian leaders" during our lifetime. Adding the Duggars to the list.

It's the description of what Josh did to some of the victims and what was on his computer. Everyone's mileage varies with stuff like that; I didn't want anyone to go in and be unpleasantly surprised. |
