Survivor Australia started last week. It is a champions vs. contenders season. Not Survivor champions, but more in the broad sense. Of note Russell Hantz if a contestant on the champions tribe.

The Aussie's always do a good version! By this season though, they are learning to play dirty and it looks a lot more like our version.
The theme this season is "Champions vs Contenders". The champs are stacked and are winning most all the competitions. Russell is on the champs team. He goes out on his own and, once again, finds an idol without need of a clue. This keeps him talking a big game for the first few episodes and he kind of recruits a couple of girls. The champs finally lose an immunity challenge and go to tribal.
Russell knows that he is low man on the pole so he walks back into his camp wearing the immunity idol and tells everyone that he is gonna play it tonight so they need to find someone else to send home. He wears it to tribal and talks non-stop about playing it and how good he is at finding them.
He thinks he has everyone out-smarted when it comes time to count the votes and he DOESN'T play the idol. Who would have seen that coming? Well most of the team did and they most all voted for Russell, making him the first eviction from his team, leaving with an idol in his pocket! I loved it.
The rest of the show has been great too! Really enjoying it!

It's incredible, Russell basically got himself voted out. The tribe was all set to send Jacquie or Damien home, but Russell split the votes between them and gave himself a plurality. Too bad he left so soon, it was such a delight to watch the Aussies bury him.
