Just saw on another forum that Caliesa flat-lined this morning and is on life support in extremely critical condition. It's not looking good.

I wonder where the people posting these updates are getting the information. What I saw was a screen shot from a closed Facebook group. The person who posted it was her niece that was on the episode - the one who was getting married, I think.

Ah, okay. I'm just so wary of things like that. There are some terrible people out there who love starting malicious rumors like that. If it's true that she's so ill, I'm very sorry to hear it.
I was shocked that she's only 41. She's done SO much damage to her body. When an infection crops up, your body can't fight it off. Terrible time to be in a hospital too.
Her backstory/childhood is one of the worst we've seen. Maybe THE worst. I hope the people who did that to her are burning in hell. No child deserves that. I could feel Lola about to break as she was telling her story. I'm sure you hear lots of dire stories as a therapist, but I doubt she's heard a lot of stories that awful. I'm a sympathetic crier, so I was crying along with her.

Another two hours of nothingness last night. I felt bad for them living in that van at first, but when Dominic started whining about not wanting to spend money for a hotel so they could spend it on fast food instead...nah. I'd rather forgo the six bacon/egg/cheese biscuits, three Big Breakfasts, pile of hash browns and a chocolate shake for a warm, safe place to sleep. Spend a couple bucks in a grocery store for a can of tuna and some lettuce, or 5/6 bucks for a whole cooked rotisserie chicken that they could both eat. All that McDonald's crap had to cost at least $30 a trip.
And why did it take him so long to talk to the housing/Section 8 people??

Breakfast (JUST breakfast, not counting the "four, five or six" meals Dominic says they eat every day) was over $46. The calorie count was about 11,000. So for ONE breakfast, they ate four and a half days worth of Dr. Now's recommended calories per day. No sympathy from me, sorry. No one can help you if you're not willing to help yourself at least a little bit.

Heck, even a studio would be better than them living in their car. They could then qualify for aid and go to food banks. They spent more on McDonald's in probably one trip than my entire grocery bill for the week.
We've talked about it in this thread before, but you actually CAN eat at fast food places without buying burgers and fries. All of these people seem to act like that's their ONLY option.
Oh, and then they just don't understand why they haven't lost any weight. I'd have more sympathy for them if even one of them had NOT lost weight very quickly when Dr. Now puts them in the hospital and their intake is controlled.

What's amazing is the MULTIPLE supersized burgers and MULTIPLE large fries/hashbrowns, etc.
On this episode, after Dominic rattled off his huge order, he turned to his brother. I half expected him to say, "And what would you like?"

I half expected him to say, "And what would you like?" OMG, I thought the same thing! Those giant food orders are horrifying. I'm not trying to say that my eating habits are entirely virtuous and perfect, but I don't think I eat that much fast food in a year (two? three?). I would be SO sick if I ate that stuff every day. They ARE sick because they eat that stuff every day. That stuff does not fuel your body. Garbage in - garbage out.
The look on the brother's face when Dr. Now said HE would also need to be on that diet was hilarious. It needed a sound effect.

I can't even fanthom eating 11k calories for just breakfast. That's a ton of food, even allowing for the high calorie content of fast food!

I was trying to think of small-ish, but highly caloric foods that I could eat 11K worth of and NOT be sick and I couldn't come up with any. Not candy bars, milkshakes, fries, anything.
I wonder if any of these "failed" participants watch their episode and come to any realizations. I'd guess that getting to that size taks a fair amount of denial.

To be fair, it was 11,000 calories split between them. But since some of the stuff was ordered in an odd number, it wasn't an exact 5,500 each.

Yeah, putting it in perspective 3500 calories = 1 pound so he gained a bit over a pound and a quarter in one meal alone!

It's not surprising that they've shut down production, but I read something insinuating that they ARE still filming and maybe don't care if anyone dies (with so many underlying conditions, producers aren't worried about being blamed). I'm just cynical enough to believe that they feel that way, although I'm not sure how they could get away with continuing to film. I'm sure some people involved with this show do it to help people, but the network? If it doesn't get ratings, they wouldn't care if anyone was being helped.

The other meme I saw (in addition to the one you posted above) says something like "I want to remind all of you that bathing suit season is coming right after peanut butter cup month"

In what universe does Dr. Now's diet say, "Eat a whole pound of bacon for one meal"??? That was barely a salad. Ranch dressing, bacon, cheese and what looked like iceburg lettuce No wonder she lost hardly any weight.
Yet again, she can't even get through the car ride to her appointment without being bribed with a pile of food. Like a spoiled toddler.
I am SO tired of every episode of this show being so disappointing. Why do NONE of these people follow the doctor's directions? Calories are not a mystery. Even if you're eating something that isn't pre-packaged with the nutritional info on the container, the information is freely available on the internet. You can buy a food scale for $20 and measuring cups are freely available in grocery stores and many other places. These people never listen. This time, after Dr. Now clearly tells her that watching her sodium has nothing to do with losing weight, she says, in voice over, that she's watching her sodium and trying to eat less As my mom always says, "Try is not an active verb." You either eat less or you don't.
Then she's blames her mother for her lack of weight loss because her mother is eating things that aren't on the diet.....and food can be absorbed by osmosis?
They seriously need to set these people up with an nutritionist from day one. Probably a therapist too.
Every week I think I'm done with this show because of how much of a waste these episodes are. Why do I keep coming back?
Dr. Now's response to Megan claiming to be a picky eater: "You're not a picky eater if you weigh 600 pounds." Savage.

Another dud last night. And her backstory was pretty lame - my sisters were mean to me? Psh. She just likes to eat. The sodium fixation was ridiculous, especially when her mom thought chips were "healthy snacks" and asked if she wanted a bunch of bacon fried up to put on her salad. Of course she did, then proceeded to drown the poor iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing and half a bag of cheese. Just grab a spoon and snack on some Crisco, why don't you? Megan was all about the usual soundbites, though: I'm trying not to eat so much. The scale must be off. I tend to hold water weight. I have to find a gym to do these exercises. It's too cold to walk outside. I don't understand why I'm not losing more.Waste. Of. Time. Also, that pink/fuchsia color in their house was hideous.

I watched a few minutes of it after Dr Now told her she didn't lose enough weight and I turned it. Knew she was going to be another flop.

I turned it on at the halfway mark. So what if your Mom is eating fattening food. It doesn't mean you have to; your mother isn't the person on the diet! I also noticed that no one twisted her arm to eat pizza with her dad either and she had more than pizza; I noticed some cheesy garlic bread and wings on the table too. She blamed everyone else for her troubles when all she needs to say is "Hey, I like to eat. And I need to make better choices." One thing I did like is when she went to the gym the trainer was super nice to her because so many of my bigger friends say the opposite happens when they seek out a trainer.
Did she get the surgery? I remember Dr. Now saying she had a lot of health issues and he wasn't sure if it would be safe or not.

Kao she didn't get surgery at the end, something was up with her gallbladder and maybe some more blood clot issues? I had sorta zoned out by then. I do remember Dr. Now saying she wasn't healthy enough to do the surgery yet.

Kao she didn't get surgery at the end, something was up with her gallbladder and maybe some more blood clot issues? I had sorta zoned out by then. I do remember Dr. Now saying she wasn't healthy enough to do the surgery yet. I think it was a bile duct problem. Since she's on blood thinners, I'm sure blood clotting is a big concern as well. The amount of medication she, a 24 year old, is on is absolutely horrifying. NINE different medications? My mom is 83 and she takes NO medications! The fact that, when she was 21, Megan had that many blood clots, is shocking. Any one of those could have killed her. I'll be surprised if she EVER qualifies for WLS. And if she does qualify, I'll be surprised if she is able to lose any significant amount of weight. She seems to have ten excuses at the ready for why she didn't lose weight....after, of course, she whines that she doesn't know why she didn't lose anything because she was trying really hard.
How can people be SO clueless about what foods are and aren't healthy? I just don't get it. It isn't as if this information isn't freely available and all of these people have smart phones. It's not secret information or something.
She didn't even read the diet/nutrition paperwork the doctor gave her

Thanks, way. I vaguely remember him. They all seem to blend together at this point. Is he the one who gained over 100 pounds between appointments?
Every time someone from this show dies, it's sad how NOT surprising it is. I'm sure they ALL think it's not going to happen to them, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.
