Just watched and this entire show is just devolving into the Molly Show with more farm content because eff a Spring, right? The finals are next week. I have no idea why they decided to bring back someone during the semi-finals, or even what criteria was used to bring that person back. Every time something happens the camera automatically goes to Molly (as well as eating shots, standing by the bakers shots, and endless shots of her just standing and smiling). The judges have been almost sidelined on their own damn show because the camera only stays on them long enough to get a response about the food and then the camera immediately switches back to Molly. I'm not sure if it's been this way all season but it was particularly awful this week. And leaving the camera on the losing baker backstage as they cried over going home was really distasteful. It's not just us who feel some kind of way about Molly. The vast majority of people over at Reddit and Food Network Gossip outright hate her on SBC, even the ones who like her on Girl Meets Farm. And as much as I hate to say this, if she is hosting SBC next year I don't think I'll be watching. They took a fun holiday show people loved and turned it into the baking version of Girl Meets Farm with no consideration of Spring, Spring holidays, the judges, or the viewers. I thought this week was the finale. I agree, that this doesn't feel like a spring show at all, it feels like Molly's farm show. She is the star, she is calling the shots..... I am sure she gets finale say in who stays or goes. I miss my show! I was not able to watch it last season due to work/covid schedule and was so excited this season.

Congratulations to the winner of the Julia Child Challenge! I loved the finale and would have been happy with any of the three winning. What a delight this show was! And I so fangirled when Jacques Pepin showed up!
Meanwhile over on SBC, baby farm animals. Ugh!

Ugh, wayyyy too much Molly this week on SBC. Did you know she lives on a FARM?! And whose brilliant idea was it to bring back a contestant that was booted a while back, and *poof* she makes it to the finals. I'd be kind of salty if I was the guy booted last week...or even this week.

It is possible that they realized the mistake in that and brought them back. This person is one of the best bakers standing. Justin said macaron the right way!!! Finally, someone got it!

I’m so frustrated by this show this season and agree with all of the comments above regarding Molly, a returning contestant, the farm, the animals…ugh! So sad that Justin went home despite Jaleesa’s continued missteps. I don’t want to watch anymore because I’m getting more and more annoyed, but I feel like I’m watching a bad traffic accident and can’t look away

Yeah I finished watching and found the faces either full of false cheer or depressed. For some reason Nancy has been shut down - where are her acerbic comments - I still hear them but this week she seemed worn. It's like Duff was the one making comments - all positive -almost seemed like American Idol judging. Please, like DWTS, reconsider the host. Maybe Jesse Palmer will return if The Bachelor franchise hasn't got him tied to a chair. He doesn't have an agenda other than telling bad Dad jokes. Let's see what they do with Holiday Baking.

Imagine her being fed a cookie salad?

First, I saw Carolyn come back. Then I tuned in briefly to hear Justin correctly pronounce macarons. I then tuned it at the end and saw who left. This show is a mess

I think people affiliated with the show saw the writing on the wall and did some serious course correcting because we got a reasonable amount of Molly this week, and by "reasonable" I mean "what you would expect from someone hosting" and not what we've been getting. I like Jalessa but half raw cheesecake should have sent her home this week but nope, she's in the finals. The person who left seemed almost happy to do so, lol.

I still think there was too much Molly last night. I was sad to see Tom go, but he seemed so stressed out the last few shows and wasn't having fun any more.

I didn’t notice any difference in Molly and/or her hosting in this latest episode. (Although I did notice her make up seemed extra heavy lol.) Yes still too much Molly!

{SBC Finale Spoilery Spoil Spoil} OMG, ya'll, I'm watching the finale of SBC right now and Jalessa and Courtney are in the finals but Romy and Dennis didn't do so hot so Molly is like "Okay, well we're going to have a bakeoff to determine who gets to go to the finals, and the chief ingredient is ~SPRINKLES~ Yes, you heard that right. Sprinkles. Romy quit on the spot and I'm like "Damn, you got all the way to the end to quit?" but I can't say I blame him. Sprinkles again? I think a lot of the contestants are tired, period because according to the voiceover they have been away filming this for 10 weeks (which might explain the lack of morale as the show went on). Dennis got into the finals by default and even he was like WUT. In all of the Baking Championships shows I have NEVER seen someone quit at the finals stage. Also, I know I'm being petty, but Molly is wearing the most ugly, old lady shoes that aren't even chic ugly they are like "Old lady playing putt putt on a cruise" ugly and I hate it here.

I hope the Great American Baking Show will be better. I need a palate cleanser after this you know what.

I haven't read the spoiler, but I watched the show next day - so no longer a spoiler - Hooray for Romi!!! NO MORE SPRINKLES! Mic Drop. I mean she winds the guy up about family stuff during the pre-bake then they drop him into a bake-off and SHE requires sprinkles. I'm so happy he quit!
There was a good and worthy winner, but the shenanigans this season were off the chart.

Thanks so much for the spoiler. I think you saved me from much frustration! Now I have no reason to watch the finale of this debacle. I’ve had enough of this crappy season to last me a lifetime. Good for Romy! Enough is enough!

Oof. More and more I feel like I'm the only one who liked this season. Like, I can see why people didn't enjoy it, but I still did. Makes me wonder if there's something wrong with me.
I enjoyed the challenges and what they produced despite whatever little mishaps, especially the pre-heat, where all four produced very pretty bakes. I'm happy for who won, they worked hard for it despite having a lot of ups and downs, just really pulling it off in the finale. As for Romy, sorry, but I don't feel sorry for him nor do I respect him. Had it been a family emergency or a health issue, sure. But I simply don't care for contestants quitting over stuff like not liking a challenge. Seriously, he quit because sprinkles? Can't he simply do a birthday cake themed treat? With his skills, that could have been easy.
Wonder what they'll add next week to the timeslot. I've gotten used to baking themed Mondays on Food Network.

I thought the bakes looked wonderful and apparently tasted great though out the season. My problem wasn't with the contestants, but the production direction they decided to take the show. It was Molly's Barn and Molly's show. While the bakes seemed superior in some respects, I prefer the "old" way of presenting them.
As far as Remi walking out, his emotions were very high during the pre-heat and presentation then to find out that after being a favorite he would have to bake for his spot. Sprinkles - there were too many of Molly's favorite things, including sprinkles during the bakes. I think this lack of his control over his bake was the final straw for him - hence my sympathy for his situation.

I don't blame Romy one bit for walking. He's been one of the most consistent (if not THE most consistent) bakers there, made a beautiful apple tart, and gets kicked to a bake-off by a chocolate cake and someone who was voted off and brought back. Then our nitwit host comes out and chirps that she wants these professional bakers to use sprinkles??! That's a topping, not an ingredient. I can always get some mediocre baked goods at the grocery store with gross sprinkles, I don't want to see them on a baking show.
Jaleesa should have been gone after she served up that raw cheesecake. Sorry. I always thought the best three were Romy, Tom, and Diego, but none of them made it to final three.
They really need a new host, I don't know if I want to watch another Mollyfest. Sprinkles and cookie pudding? Ugh. And maybe go to blind tasting like GBBO.

I am glad I am not the only one who could not stand Molly and thought she really brought down the show. Most of the challenges seemed to be geared towards people who have never baked before, or not baked that much. Sprinkles? Really? At first when Romy left I thought he was being a baby but then I thought about it and agreed. Sprinkles? Cookie Salad? Bring back Jesse!
And the whole macaron pronunciation thing? These guys are professional bakers, why are they all saying it wrong? Nails on a chalkboard.

I don't respect Romy and his quitting. He underbaked his pie crust! It wasn't his day. Jaleesa and Carolyn baked outstanding desserts. They aren't judged on everything, but on the last thing they baked. Everyone else in the finale had needed at one point during the season to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and today was his day. He knows what the competition is about. It plays to different strengths. He's "too good" for sprinkles? He has too much "integrity" to cook with sprinkles? Find a different competition. How about showing the judges he can make an elegant dessert with sprinkles? How about he choked because he ended up in the bakeoff and quit?
I like Molly and her interaction with the contestants. She was pregnant during filming and her clothing was maternity dresses.

These guys are professional bakers, why are they all saying it wrong? Nails on a chalkboard. I have said it before, I watch this show to see works of art that look lovely and taste delicious. Instead we got cookie salad, sprinkles and baby farm animals. This show had very little Spring in it. It would have been more suited to a kids baking show or people who are new to baking, not trained pastry chefs. Romy posted on his instagram "I will not be eliminated or eliminated a friend on a sprinkle challenge! I prefer leave on my own terms". Lets face it, when she showed up with those juvenile sprinkle cookies neither of them looked thrilled, they looked dark. YOu could see it in their faces. Also the tone changed, instead of "your challenge is ----" or "judges would you like you ----", it was "I want you to make" or "I challenge you". Why have judges? I could just see the look on Paul Hollywood's face if he was presented with a "cookie salad". I never want to see Molly on another one of these shows again. Give her a farm baking show challenge that is all her own so I can stay away.

Yet, Jaleesa made a raw cheesecake the week before. And it didn't look much like spring. I have been watching this show for ages and things the judges would normally ding people on, they didn't. It was a weird season.

They raved - literally raved - about the taste of Dennis’s cake. And then Jaleesa won. Ok her cake was pretty. But her cake made no sense - rose, cookies and cream, and blueberry do not go together and shouldn’t be in the same cake. And two of them complained about her blueberry cake being gummy. Honestly, Jaleesa should have been eliminated a number of times throughout the competition.
I liked Molly in the ice cream competition show she did. Here she was over the top a lot, though I found her better in the last couple of episodes. I think she could be a good host if she calmed it down a bit. But if I never see cookie salad again it would be too soon.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one, that's a relief. And yeah, that's my issue with Romy. He could have easily baked something awesome, but his reponse, especially on social media, as to why he quit because it was sprinkles, sounds snobbish. Like, I myself despise the taste and texture of sprinkles, but if I sign up for a baking competition, and I get asked to bake something with sprinkles, especially to earn a spot in the finale, you can bet I'll definitely make some birthday cake themed treat. And while I understand that some of the challenges didn't feel like enough of a spring theme, at least they were varied and gave us something different. The Baking Championship shows have been going on for a while now and I bet it can get difficult to think of brand new challenges for every new season to keep it fresh and engaging.
