Well, that elimination was rather anti-climatic. {Spoiler} Kyle didn't stand a chance.
I will say everyone is really doing well.

You know, I have never heard of a "Paris-Breast" until now! I liked Kyle and his spirit, but maybe trying to fry a Pâte à choux that big when you've never done that before was a tad bit too experimental when you're in a competition? I'm glad he had a win under his belt and had a great experience overall. I hope he appears on another FN show because he was fun! I really like the vibe on this particular baking show because while yes, people obviously want to win everyone is very laid back and enjoying the entire experience as well.

I think he would do well on one of those one-off baking shows, especially the holiday ones. I see assorted past Baking Championship contestants on them all of the time; there was this girl that didn't do so hot on the Halloween show who came back for the Easter competition and did quite well, and there were a ton of ex-contestants on Candyland as well. Hopefully, we will see him again.

They had a Paris Brest competition on British Baking show a few years back when the girls were still hosting. The showed a piece in Paris of a master making it. The winner was a whole bicycle. (sorry can't remember names as usual)

Summer Baking Time: LOL at the person who made another contestant switch their ginger with limes completely bomb their dessert and got kicked off. I know you might not like your ingredient and technically it was fair play because she won the preheat but I'm not going to deny that I feel some type of way about it. I'm glad that the baker who got the ginger managed to make a delicious dessert that also looked great.

It wasn't cooked properly and all that soupy watermelon on top made it even soggier. I know how you feel when someone does something like that, it does make me laugh a bit.

SBC - sometimes you just know early on who's going to be eliminated by the edit. Poor guy, just wasn't his day. Jesse sure has amped up the dad jokes for this one.

SBC: Grill cakes... . I have to admit that peach cobbler skillet thing looked delicious and I can see why it won the preheat. I've been to many a Pride party and rainbow cakes and cupcakes are the norm so I was so glad that they only allowed the winner of the preheat to make a cake if they wanted to. That forced everyone to be more imaginative, and the result was some pretty cool desserts. I knew that person was going home the instant both Jessie and Duff called them out for skirting the rules and making a "cookie-cake."

Yes, if it had been an actual cookie, I think they might have gone on, because they have been fairly successful so far. It was cake, it was a slice, you needed a fork to eat it.

SBC - I hate when someone goes home and they didn't really screw anything up in a major way. I'd almost rather see them totally flop on a challenge. I've always wanted to try a cartoon cake, but they look like a pain in the butt...

I was sad over who went home; in particular because they had such a great day otherwise.

I was sad over who went home; in particular because they had such a great day otherwise. I knew they were a goner right away when they initially did so well. I was sad to see them go. I'm not overtly fond of the ones that are left. They are all good but I'm not cheering for anyone in particular.

Oh no, not the Cookie Salad! Anyone watching the Food Truck Race? I'm "anyone but Karna" because I don't think bullies should win anything.

Halloween Baking Championship will be back September 11 at 8 pm. This year's theme is "Carnival" and John, Stephanie, Zack, and Carla will all be back this year.

What fun it was to have HBC back! I enjoyed the theme and it was nice to see John again. Overall, none of the bakers REALLY impressed me, but I think let them get over their jitters and at least two look like they could pull ahead. There are two bakers that lean towards more cutesy horror and I'm not sure how that will translate.

I am already loving this season of HBC and the Carnivale theme, so fun! So far everyone is lovely, but early faves are the food scientist, the Sugar Daddy guy, Australian lady with the face tattoo, and the ex makeup artist. I especially like Sugar Daddy because he's from my city and his bakery is a lot of fun and has an excellent rep. I was really afraid that he was going to go home because he didn't get the churros on the cake, but the cake itself was fabulous. A clown dragon? How fabulous!
Besides the Dragon and the super creepy clowncake the Aussie made in her Dad's image, there were a lot of cakes this week I loved. It seemed like everyone had a good time with the challenges.

Lots of gory stuff on HBC already, I love it! I think a few of them will be really good once they get over the first show jitters.

Sugar Daddy is from my neck of the woods! Mine too! Not the same neighborhood, but I go over there frequently. From what I know he's a sweetie!

Halloween Baking Championship:
Sometimes, these sort of competition shows aren't for everyone, and a wise person realizes it. Really sad Chad left due to reasons, and wish him all the best. At first I thought they might spare someone this week but considering how the people on the bottom really belonged there they probably thought it would be better to wait for a week where everyone did well but someone had to be on the bottom.
I really liked the creepy carousels but some of these folks (while making otherwise tasty desserts) need to work on their craftsmanship.

I had briefly dozed off, opened my eyes and he was seated and saying he was going to leave. Wow. I didn't 100% agree with who went home. Would they have won this? No, but I thought there were at least 2 other cakes that were worse.
