The finale was full of flowers, champagne and coffee. Really yummy desserts. {Spoiler} Congratulations, Corey! He flubbed on the candy extra, but both his presentations - pre and final - were flawless.

The winner really rose to the occasion and made some truly memorable desserts. Their Mother's Day cake was spectacular.
Congrats to the other two for also making a good effort. Hopefully FN will have them back on another baking show.

Watched Best Baker in America tonight and you're right; the guy with the glasses name is Joshua and he was previously on Season 4 of the “Holiday Baking Championship” on Food Network. That's why he looked so familiar.
I liked the cake that the person who lost tonight made. It was very unique and interesting, but the design had nothing to do with a Royal birth and the elderflower was missing.

Joshua seems to be killing it on Best Baker. I enjoy watching them bake on this show, but I would never attempt any of this stuff at home. Way too fancy for my skill set.

Once again the French baker isn't doing as well as you think they should be. Joshua is showing the same amount of confidence Adam did last season, but I think his imagination is more finely tuned.
I'm still enjoying Marcella and Jason wearing their coordinating outfits and this year they are showing their disagreements more. Scott has even commented on Mom and Dad fighting.

You know, I'm still enjoying the show but I'm beginning to think that it's rigged. It's like if you were previously on a Holiday Baking show and come back for the Best Baker in America or Food Network Star title that barring any Amy-like meltdowns you will win. I already know who they are gunning for to win and it's really making me feel like I'm wasting my time watching.

But, he is good. He doesn't always win, but this time I did think his tower was the best.

Wow, Eric pulled out the win! Good for him. I wonder what would have happened if Joshua had gotten to do his sugar work...

There was a new cupcake show on last night that is in the same vein as the Christmas Cookie Challenge and it was a lot of fun! The contestants made cupcakes that looked like succulents, and they were lovely.

I'll definitely watch! I'm guilty of watching Food Network from Mid September thru January for all of the holiday content. It just gives me such a warm, cozy feeling.

Lorraine and Jason are really out here making that Food Network money because they are the hosts of a brand new show that premiered last night: Worst Bakers in America! Based on what I saw last night these people need help.

I watched it also. Can Bakers be worse than cooks? Most likely. Worst Cooks comes up either 8/4 or 8/11 a Sunday. The hosts are Bobby Flay and Anne Burrell.

Oh good. Bobby Flay is a mess but I love him.
On the last Worst Cooks they got rid of everyone I liked and the final 2 were the contestants that I liked the absolute least. I hope that doesn't happen this time!

I hate the fact that they moved the Cupcake show and Worst Bakers to Saturday afternoon! Drive-ins and Dives is already on all day twice a week; did we really need another 5 hour block of it?

I really enjoy that show and Alton so I'll watch.
Anyone else get to check out that crazy supermarket show with Alex Guarneschelli? The contestants are cooking in a supermarket parking lot and there's a pantry with the basics out there too. They are given $500 and a theme, and they have to go up to people leaving the store and WITHOUT LOOKING attempt to buy people's groceries off them in the hopes that they have what you need or can use. Since that $500 is supposed to last for 3 rounds (if you get knocked out you have to give the remainder of the money back) you have to be somewhat strategic in your purchases as well. I think in the last round you're actually allowed to enter the store and buy one item you need. It's a really fun show.

I've watched and enjoyed it. It is now on my DVR. I noticed in the two episodes I saw that the two judges were different for each episode as well as the store and location. The last store, Gelsons, is a high end store with shops in Orange County as well.

Booby Flay has a new show, and this one is actually interesting. It's called the Flay List and he costars with his daughter. Over the years they've developed different tastes in restaurants, so they pick a theme and showcase their favorite NYC restaurants that fit it. Last week's theme was fried chicken, but they managed to fit some ice cream shops in there as well. It's a really nice show, especially if you're planning a trip to NYC and want some suggestions on where to go to eat.

Suoermarket Stakeout is a lot of fun for me, and it helps that so far, all the contestants, judges and Alex herself seem to be having so much fun, and even passersby stop by to watch the competition. The whole premise is interesting and it's funny to see how the shoppers react. There's clearly strategy involved with bartering with the shoppers, and I was especially impressed at a move in one episode, during the moment in round 3 when they let them go into the store to buy one single ingredient they want, while one contestant lost time waiting for the line to go down, the other offered money to jump ahead in line and got out quickly, it was very smart. Looking forward to tonight's episode.

Not yet Arielflies, but the holiday season will be starting in a few weeks! So we'll have the Halloween Baking Championship and all the other Halloween shows to kick off the season.
Bobby's daughter looks just like him, and they are cute together. Not sure where she's works though.

Found a Halloween site that has this year's Food Network Halloween show schedule: halloweendailynews.com/2019/08/food-network-halloween-wars-2019/re: Halloween Baking Championship: "Judges Carla Hall, Katie Lee and Zac Young, join host John Henson to test the skills of eight talented bakers who must show off their skills over six episodes with terrifyingly delicious challenges." Excuse me, but who is this Katie Lee person? What happened to Lorraine Pascal? The team of Carla, Lorraine, and Zac (with John Henson) worked extremely well together and was fun. Why introduce another person? Ugh.
