After seeing commercials for this show during Married at First Sight, I finally checked it out OnDemand. I was pleasantly surprised. For viewers of MAFS, it will seem familiar because it's got (I believe) the same producers. Similar music, Dr. Jessica is involved with this show and just similar editing/production feel to it.
Think Wife Swap but for couples who are dealing with strain in their marriages. The new couples spend two weeks together. The idea is that being "married" to someone else will help give them clarity about their own relationships. There's some physical attraction but, so far, no one has crossed any lines. I know the show started in Australia and a number of the couples did split up after appearing on the show.
It definitely seems like several of the couples on this season have a better shot at staying together than others do.
I'm only on episode 3 of the current season (the third season) and the couples just started watching videos of their spouses together. Until now, they all seem to be on their best behavior and are enjoying the novelty of being with a new person. I think it's about to get intense.

This season is definitely more intense than previous ones have been!

I don't know, I thought season 2 was pretty crazy with Dustin and Kelsey probably sleeping together and then that almost catfight when Kelsey and Jaclyn met. I couldn't believe Jaclyn took his word over everyone else's. If they're still together, it would have to be because she never actually watched the episodes and saw how he behaved with Kelsey. Frankly, I was shocked there weren't two divorces there! I wasn't surprised at all to hear that CW and Rachel from season one had split. He was so controlling. When Dr. Jessica (I think) tried to bring up the thing about the alcohol and he just shut her down with "We're not talking about that." Then he blatantly lied to Rachel about drinking with Danielle when it was on tape! I wondered if she ended things before or after she saw that episode.
With this season, I don't know which of them I think will stay together. I'd give Bobby and Rosslyn good odds if she can open up and not be so dismissive of him. He seemed to learn a lot and see where he needed to make changes, but if she belittles it or doesn't change too, they won't last. I like Reece and Diane, so I hope they both make the changes they need.
I think the least likely to stick together are Charles and Kenya. I think she went on this show to fix Charles: I don't think she feels she needs to change anything about herself. I don't know about Angela and Tony either. She's pretty judgmental and unyielding. Maybe they'd all be better off with different spouses

I had forgotten about CW trying to gaslight everyone - creep.
Dustin and Kelsey were ridiculous last year! This year it seems like all the matches have high drama/are they or aren't they attached to them. I immediately thought of D and K when Angela was giving Charles 'come get me' hints the first few days. Kenya and Angela are a lot more alike than they think and I agree neither of them want to bend or change. It also seems like Kenya is more upset that he stopped going to church than she is that he cheated.
The other four are so sweet and trying so hard; I would like to see them all work out. I think/hope that if Bobby isn't immediately shutting her down, Rosslyn desperately wants to be more warm and there for him. Obviously Reece's blowup over Bobby's "don't settle" comment came from his fear that Diane is or feels like she's settling.
I get way too invested in this one, but I'm okay with that.

Yeah, it really wasn't so obvious that CW was awful until he and Rachel came back together after the experiment and he started lying about things that were ON TAPE. It was so blatant. I couldn't imagine how he thought he was going to get away with that. You didn't drink with Danielle? Not only DID you do that, but (IIRC) YOU suggested it! I was pleased when I saw that they got divorced and Rachel is in Nashville pursuing her music career. That was a mismatch if I ever saw one.
I think you're right about Kenya an Angela. All Kenya cares about is that Charles becomes religious again. It seems to be the only reason she wanted to go on the show. I don't think that's going to happen. He deserves better than someone who won't accept him for who he is. She clearly doesn't think she has any changes to make herself. Same with Angela. I can definitely see both of those couples splitting up.

Wow, that last episode was a whole bunch of NOTHING. Conversations started and not finished, choppy editing. WTH? We see Bobby and Rosslyn sitting together, him crying, her asking him what's going on....and then he gets up for a Kleenex and the next thing we see is them in different clothing out walking their dog It seemed like we didn't really see any complete conversations. It was really frustrating. Kenya and Angela are both pretty awful to their husbands. Those guys should cut and run and find women who will appreciate them for who they are. It seems like both of them want their husbands to be someone else. Neither of them seems to have learned anything OR feel like they need to change at all. They're both married to kind, attractive, smart men, but they don't seem to appreciate that. I'm sure other women would. At this point, the editing is so misleading that I couldn't begin to guess if any of them stay together. I've tried in past seasons and was dead wrong. Couples I thought sure were going to split up didn't.

Such a strange ending! I was also screaming "show Angela giving Charles the free pass to come and do her on the first and second nights before poor Tony decides!!!" I was waiting for a follow-up after, but nothing. Total letdown and very sloppy. Reese's face when he saw Diane was SO sweet, and she was just 'meh'. I definitely think she's the 'he needs to be a leader and take charge...but when he does it better be EXACTLY how I would have done it or else" type.

Agreed. It was odd I wasn't at all surprised that Charles and Kenya split. She was terrible. He deserves someone who loves him for who he is. She can go trawling for a new man at church, since that's ALL she seems to care about. I was a bit surprised that Tony and Angela stayed together. Neither of them show much emotion, so it's hard to tell what either of the is really feeling. It seemed to me that Tony ended up giving way more than Angela did. She looked kind of smug when he said he'd leave his job and move with her. It was like she'd WON. I felt for Reece in that moment too. He's a sweetheart. I wondered if he was hurt when he watched that scene and saw how unenthused she really was to see him again. He was trying to take charge a bit more and then she sort of shot him down when he did. I don't know about Rosslyn and Bobby. We never saw them have a whole conversation after they were back together. It's hard to know if they're communicating better or not. It's clear she really loves him, but it seems like he's still having trouble opening up to her. Sometimes it really IS easier to tell your secrets to a stranger.

Was everyone aware that most of the couples are Actors and Actresses. I mean I guess it kind of make sense since you have to have no kids to do the process. But it also make me wonder...

Where did you get that info, Mika? I just Googled "Are any Seven Year Switch contestants actors?" (and various other versions of that inquiry) and did NOT see even one article that discussed it.

The AfterBuzz after show on YouTube. It's the reason Angela was so adamant about heading to LA with or without Tony Apparently. People who follow many of the participants on SM have stated they are open that they are actors.
